ECT The Prophets saw two things happening to Israel

The prophets vision never makes a blanket-endorsement of the race of Israel. It is always qualified by their 'hesed' their response of loyalty to what is being asked of them. 'Hesed' must meet 'hesed.' that is why 'nabi' is actually a person with an ethical declaration, not a prognosticator. a 'nabi' is first declaring what is right, and then a prediction only because of that.

This is why Dan 9 goes two opposite directions: the city and sanctuary will be ruined, but what Messiah does will be successful--and even uses 'priesthood' terminology like 'anoint the holiest.' Obviously, the race as a whole is not the concern.

Isaiah's 58 has the servants of God going one direction while the unbelievers go another. The race as a whole is not the concern; nothing blanket is stated. Since some people from the nations join the servants, we know this is what the NT is talking about, before the NT says so.

Malachi ends warning that all the chaff will be burnt up. The good grain is stored, but the chaff of Israel is burnt.

The NT has the same kind of warning, never siding with Israel the race. "God can make seed out of these stones" cries John B. The 'seed of Abraham' is not his descendants but those who have faith.

It also has the warning of what would happen to Israel: the destruction of the place. Not for killing Christ, but for not doing the right thing with the message about the death of Christ. Two different things.

It also has the warm vision of the incoming Gentiles who also have faith, and how the two join together in Christ's mission.

None of my threads have the acronym in them that is banished by Sherman.

Sounds like a sunday school boys understanding. It is totally unsatisfactory as to Dan 9 and history and Is 65 on the judgement of Israel (Acts 13) in which there are some good grapes but a lot of ruined ones to throw out. The servants have eternal life, the rot is burnt, followed by the NHNE.

Wait!

What about those pagan Gentiles?

Or how about the God fearing one's?

Not fair; not fair. :chuckle:

Acts 17: 11B.

Survey your Bible, you will find land, the city, and the heavens.
How many general sections were in the ONE temple of old? (You will never answer)
