16 Bible Verses That Teach The Bible Is The Word Of God.

“The Bible is not the word of God but the words of men who claim they
were inspired by God to write the Biblical books.”____Randolph Ranter

That up there is False.
The Bible is the word of God.
Here below are some Bible verses that teach that the Bible is the word of God.

1 Peter 1:23-25
"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable,
through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the
flowers fall, but the word of the LORD endures forever.” And this is the
word that was preached to you."

JAGG Note: Here Peter says that the word that was preached to his listeners
{and perhaps readers} was the word of the LORD.

_______________

1 Thessalonians 2:13
"And we also thank God continually because, when you received the
word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human
word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in
you who believe."

JAGG Note: This is a clear and bold affirmation from the Apostle Paul that
the message of the Apostles is the word of God.

__________

2 Peter 3:16
"He {Paul} writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these
matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand,
which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures,
to their own destruction."

JAGG Note: Here Peter seems to be thinking of Paul's writings as also being
the Holy "Scriptures." And now we KNOW that they are.

___________

Acts 17:11
"Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica,
for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures
every day to see if what Paul said was true."

JAGG Note: The writer of Acts views the Scriptures as having authority to settle
questions about doctrinal issues.

____________

Colossians 3:16
"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one
another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing
to God with gratitude in your hearts."

JAGG Note: The “message of Christ” is found in God’s word the Bible and especially
found in the New testament.

__________

Hebrews 4:12
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged
sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

________

Isaiah 55:11
"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

________

John 5:39-40
"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have
eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse
to come to me to have life."

JAGG Note: Here the Lord Jesus says that the Old Testament Scriptures testify
about Him.

___________

John 17:17
"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

___________

Luke 11:28
"He replied, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

________

Luke 24:44-49
"He said to them, This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must
be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.
Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them,
This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,
and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations,
beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you
what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with
power from on high."

JAGG Note:
{1} The Lord Jesus here presents the Scriptures as having authority.
{2} Also notice "the forgiveness of sins will preached in his name to all nations"
So? So you can connect Luke 24:44-49 with the Lord Jesus' Great Commission
in Matthew 28:16-20 "go and make disciples of all nations"

___________

Matthew 4: 4
"Jesus answered, It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every
word that comes from the mouth of God."

JAGG Note: See the whole passage Matthew 4:1 -11 for 2 more references to
"it is written" that is, written in the Holy Scriptures.
_______

Revelation 1: 1- 3
"The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants
what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his
servant John, who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God
and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the
words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart
what is written in it, because the time is near."

_______

Romans 10:17
"Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is
heard through the word of Christ."

________

James 1: 22-25
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone
who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and
immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the
perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they
have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do."

________

2 Timothy 3:14-17
"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become
convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and
how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able
to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture
is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and
training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly
equipped for every good work."

JAGG Note:
Note the particulars from 2 Timothy 3:14-17
{1} Timothy knew the Scriptures when he was young
{2} the Scriptures were Holy
{3} they were able to make Timothy wise
{4} wise for salvation
{5} salvation through faith in Christ Jesus
{6} the Scriptures are God-breathed
{7} all of them are God-breathed {not just some of them}
{8} the Scriptures are useful for:
~ teaching
~ rebuking
~ correcting
~ training in righteousness
{9} so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped {100%}
{10} for every good work {not just some good work}

___________

Also consider these:
* Job 23:12 "I have treasured the words of His mouth"
* John 1:1 {The Living Word speaks God’s word}
* Mathew 1:1-11 {Jesus used the Holy Scriptures to resist Satan.}
* Psalm 12:6 "the words of the Lord are flawless"

Can you think of other Bible verses to add to the above?
If so, please post them
Can you think of a theological point that would add to this subject.
If so, please post that point.
Your effort might be a blessing to some future reader.
Many thanks.

I find the Word to be true by living it.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness..." (2 Tim. 3:16).

"The Word of God" is more than the Bible. It is applied within Scripture to the oracles given to the prophets, but more than that it refers to The One giving the oracles - God Himself.

As for your post, I find your methodology wrong-headed. If you want to establish a doctrine of Scripture, you don't yank multiple verses out of context and try to comment on each one separately. You find a whole chapter in which the doctrinal point is discussed, and learn from it with simple reading comprehension.

I can't fool myself and consider what men (prophets and alike) may say (on the Bible or else) more seriously than what Jesus, the Living Word of God (not the inspired Word from God), says.
So I will revise with you what Jesus says only.

John 5:39-40
"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have
eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse
to come to me to have life."

JAGG Note: Here the Lord Jesus says that the Old Testament Scriptures testify
about Him.

Yes, the Old Testament Scriptures testify about Jesus, but nothing else; because Jesus came to reveal the most updated version of every truth that humans need to know about God's Realm and the world reality as well. And under the Light of Jesus teachings, those who can perceive a living soul in them, besides their living flesh, can find out how to feed it (their soul) and let it survive for eternity in God's Realm, here on earth and after death.

John 17:17
"Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth."

Yes, the Word that comes from Jesus (the Living Word of God), not from any man (inspired by God or not).

Luke 11:28
"He replied, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it."

{Luke 11:28}
"But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."

Big difference, True Love cannot be commanded;
Even in Science, I may keep what I learnt from my scientific teachers but this doesn't mean I obey them as if I were their slave.

Indeed, everything about Jesus on the OT was fulfilled.
And Jesus disciples were able to preach Jesus teachings miraculously because they do it with love (not by the sword) and the crucial teachings/sayings of Jesus contradict man's Law (based on instincts) and supersede the OT teachings.

Jesus didn't say "from my mouth" because "the mouth of God" is the mouth of the Father in Heaven, not incarnated, and Jesus, incarnated, unified by the Holy Spirit.
Also, whatever Jesus says supersede 'whatever is written'; unless one believes that Jesus is just another man, another Prophet (as Muslims are supposed to believe).

John 1:1 {The Living Word speaks God’s word}

{John 1:1}
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

This is what I keep saying :)
But I am sure that John couldn't find these words by himself to describe Jesus because, even in these days (after about 2000 years), the majority of humans in the world cannot, even if they want to, grasp it.

Mathew 1:1-11 {Jesus used the Holy Scriptures to resist Satan.}

{Mathew 1:1-11} ?!

There are two things to watch out for in this matter:
1. The "Word of God" doesn't necessarily refer to a written word at all, nor can one know that it refers to what is today called "the Bible".
2. Don't expect to prove to anybody that the Bible is the Word of God by using verses from within the Bible. That will only work if you are talking to someone who already agrees with you.

By the way, no one proved me that Jesus is the Living Word of God.

I simply noticed that Jesus 'only' agrees with me on whatever I had the chance to discover in my being (whatever define my living flesh and my living soul; each has a specific set of rules) and the reality of the world as it is. Only my Creator can have such complete and accurate knowledge about me :) Naturally, I also took advantage of His many revealed truths and hints to better know how to live in the world's jungle.

In brief, thanks to Jesus, I was able finding out the logical answers to all my important questions concerning my existence and the world. So I didn't need to know what else is written on the Bible/Gospel.
