The True Worshippers of God !2

The True Worshippers of God !2

God seeks those who will worship in Spirit and in Truth, and none who are not born again will qualify Jn 4:23-24

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

So other than a few spiritual jews in ethnic Israel, who had spiritual inward circumcision of the heart, the jews of Christ's Day were not the True Worshippers of God, that God seeketh for. To worship God in Spirit and in Truth was to come to God [even in the OT] by way of Jesus Christ, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world Jn 14:6

5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Yes, thats how Abel came to God, by the lamb Slain from the foundation, His coming with they Type of Offering he did was evidence of Faith in Christ the Coming Seed that was to bruise the Head of the Serpent. All the Saints of Old came to God by Christ, Job, Jacob Gen 49:10

10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering /submission/obedience of the people be.

Do you know who Shiloh is whom Jacob refers to here ? Its Christ, Jacob was speaking about His Death would gather in the people of God as here Jn 11:51-52

51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus[Shiloh] should die for that nation;

52 And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God or the People that were scattered abroad.

All the Patriarchs of Old came to God by Christ, Jesus said of Abraham Jn 8:56 Moses said Deut 18:15

But its not until by the Power of the Spirit, we are given Faith in Christ for all Salvation, regardless of ethnicity, then we become the True Worshippers of God, and jews by Christ's standards Jn 4:22

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

When one is given the Spirit, He is become to them a Spirit of Wisdom and Knowledge in the revelation of Jesus Christ, and then they know whom they Worship Eph 1:17

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

And then they will know what and whom they Worship, given by the Spirit 1 Cor 2:1-13, but without this Spiritual Revelation, there is no spiritual embracing of the Preaching of Christ and Him Crucified 1 Cor 2:2

2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

Remember God Preached Christ in the Gospel to Abraham centuries ago Gal 3:8,16

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

BTW,The only way to Worship God in Spirit and in Truth, the Holy Spirit must be in us as that principle of Spiritual Life.

Christ's Commands are Effectual !

Christ's Commands are Effectual !

Matt 14:28-33

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

By Jesus word of command, an imperative come, Peter by it was enabled to obey and actually did walk on water, that which is humanly impossible to do. However as soon as his mind was distracted from the word of command, by a wind, he feared, and then began to sink, which then he cried out" Lord save me" and notice what happened, The Lord immediately [before peter disappeared under water] reached out and caught him.

That word caught is the greek word epilambanomai:

to take in addition, to lay hold of, take possession of, overtake, attain, attain to

a) to lay hold of or to seize upon anything with the hands, to take hold of, lay hold of

b) metaph. to rescue one from peril, to help, succour

Yes, Jesus put forth His ability to rescue peter, nothing about peter making any effort of his own, but Christ layed hold of him and rescued him out of peril. So it is, we can only apprehend Christ, after He apprehends us Phil 3:12

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Christ makes us His Own first by Redemption, then He applies it by the Spirit and then we are able to take hold of the object of our Faith, which is Christ !

The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev 13:8

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

What does it mean slain from or before the foundation of the World Rev 13:8; 1 Pet 1:20, first let it be said to clear up any misconceptions what I believe, this does not mean that Christ did not die only once at the appointed time [in time] at the end of the World and in the fulness of time Heb 9:26

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Gal 4:4

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

But this being slain from the foundation has to do with God's Decree, which separates Time from Eternity, the Creator from the creature, and it is the declaring of the decree that pertains to the Gospel Ps 2:7, for by Decree and Purpose He was slain from the foundation [God's reckoning as an Eternal Being] Because for such an Eternal Being as God, all things are of necessity an abiding present to Him, yes before they have reality with us His creatures, hence the Mystery of His Decree, Counsel and Purpose Eph 1:9

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

For with the Eternal Being, He calleth things that are not [in time] as though they were [already accomplished]. Ecc 3:15

15 That which hath been[By Decree] is now; and that which is to be hath already been[By Decree]; and God requireth that which is past.

All that transpires in the time state, is but an manifestation of the Eternal decree, and the same ones for whom Christ died for in time 1 Cor 15:3 are the same ones He was slain for in the Eternal Purpose and Decree from the foundation, they are the foreknown Rom 8:29 as He was 1 Pet 1:20

20 Who verily was foreordained/foreknown before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

The Virtue, Efficacy of Christ's Blood

The Virtue, Efficacy of Christ's Blood

The Virtue, Efficacy of Christ's Blood, was enacted from before the foundation, in that the World was Created in the sphere of its Virtue, the meaning of Col 1:16; Eph 3:9, the World was Created in the Virtue of His Death, so it must stand or continue till all the generation's of His Seed partake experientially of His Eternal Redemptive purpose, 2 Pet 3:9-15

day.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

Yes, all the generations of the Chosen Seed must come to Repentance before the Promise of His Second Coming is fulfilled. Gen 17:7

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

The Earth owes its preservation up to this Day to Christ's Redemptive Purpose in that all the generations of the Chosen Seed shall have a Application of it [Their Redemption]

The Spirit of Adoption !

The Spirit of Adoption !

Rom 8:15

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The Spirit of Adoption , is the Holy Spirit sent into our hearts at New Birth, to identify us as the Sons or Children of God in Adam, now being recovered from the fall in Adam, hence all such who do not receive the Spirit of Adoption or the Holy Spirit, means they were never of the Sons of God who were lost in Adam, a True Son of Abraham like Zacchaeus Lk 19:9-10. Incidentally their lostness is related to their being not Children of God, but of the devil or the Wicked One. Matt 13:38

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

They cannot receive the Spirit of Adoption Jn 14:17

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Yes the Spirit of Adoption of Rom 8:15 and the Spirit of Truth of John 14:17 are the Same !

Because of Sonship He is sent into our hearts Gal 4:6

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

From Adam's Image to Christ's Image !

From Adam's Image to Christ's Image !

The scripture actually teaches that those who sinned in Adam, shall be saved by Christ 1 Cor 15:47-49

47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.

49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Now here Paul is speaking directly to believers, and he writes that as they have bore the image of the earthy man [Adam] who was out of the dust, they SHALL also [indeed] bear the Image of the Man from heaven, The Heavenly, for this was part of God's foreordained purpose for each believers life before they were Created in Adam, this being confirmed in Acts 17:26

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Yes, God's set purpose determined when each believer's physical existence in the flesh would occur according to God's Time and Purpose

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

This is therefore God's determination that they should bare the Image of the man of the dust or earthy, this is according to God's Sovereign Will, not ours, and just as He determined the first beings of us by the earthy to bare his Image, He likewise determined that we should and would bare the Image of the Man from Heaven, which is also meant by having predestinated us to the Adoption of Sons by Jesus Christ Eph 1:5

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Also Rom 8:29

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Note: Even though scripture has no specific scripture stating it, nevertheless, believers were also predestinated to first bare the image of adam also !

It was God who determined which Image we would bare first in time 1 Cor 15:46

46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

And thats what it is to be saved, to bear the Image of Christ !

And he cannot sin, because he is born of God!

And he cannot sin, because he is born of God!

1 Jn 3:9

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

Why he that is born of God doth not sin, and cannot sin. The main reason is because he is born of God or ek out of from God, instead of being born out of adam, the reference is not the one born out of his first birth of the flesh.

The believer, when they were born of the flesh or out of they natural, physical generation from adam, he is born of corruptible seed 1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

And in this capacity he is born a sinner and remains so all his days in the flesh Rom 7; However there does come a time in every believers life when he is begotten again, made a New Creation, is born again, a second time, this time however out of an Incorruptible seed, the Word of God 1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The Word of God here is Christ, The Seed of the Woman, the Last Adam.

This is the New Man, the Inward Man, created in True Righteousness and Holiness Eph 4:24

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The word new as in new man is the greek word kainos:

new

a) as respects form

1) recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn

b) as respects substance

1) of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of

He is a New kind of man, a New Substance of a Man, not as the First and old man of the flesh,

It is this New Man that the Believer is Also, this Man is added as an addition to his status as a man in the and out of the flesh or corruptible seed. Both the New Man out of His Incorruptible source of generation and the old man out of his source of generation live together in one man ! One Man sins continually and one man cannot sin at all !

And he cannot sin, because he is born of God! cont

And he cannot sin, because he is born of God! cont

Both the New Man out of His Incorruptible source of generation and the old man out of his source of generation live together in one man ! One Man sins continually and one man cannot sin at all !

And no matter how much the old man sins, for thats all he can do considering his source, the flesh Rom 7:18

18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Yet the New Man Eph 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Cannot sin considering its source 1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

1 Jn 3:9

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

This New entity is not born of adam or the flesh.

Now understand again, The Flesh what we believers are by Nature, had as its beginning in its earthy progenitor in the earthy adam, but the man which is born of God had its beginning out of the Heavenly progenitor Christ, The everlasting Father Isa 9:6, thats the Lord from Heaven, The Logos of God Even, it is as we are born out of this progenitor we cannot sin, and thats the key to understand 1 Jn 3:9, John is very specific in stating who it is that cannot sin, whosoever is born of God, The New Man of Eph 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

How can such a man sin ? If he can sin, then there is no hope of sinless perfection ever, what more can God do to Create sinless men if not Creating them in True Holiness and Righteousness will not accomplish that ?

However, in this life, it does not mean sinless perfection for the believer who is born of God, because his person whom he is by being born of the flesh is not extinct, but is still alive and active, and cannot cease from sinning, So John also warns against self deception and claiming sinless perfection now by writing 1 Jn 1:8

8 If we say that we have no sin[indwelling sin the flesh], we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

But the Good News for the True Believer is that as the New Man he no longer sins, but sin that dwells in him Rom 7:17

As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it[The New Man Born of God], but it is sin living in me [The old Man born out of the flesh].

The Non Imputation of Sin, and the Imputation of Christ's Righteousness

The Non Imputation of Sin, and the Imputation of Christ's Righteousness, or of the Righteousness of God 2 Cor 5:21 always go together, The Saints know this, even as David did Rom 4:6-8

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Two distinct men !

Two distinct men !

The True Believer is Two Men,with one dual Character ! Yes, the True Believer consist of Two distinct orders of life, Just as God Told Rebekkah this Gen 25:23

23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

That's the dual character of the believer, one manner of life was produced out of corruptible seed, which was adam 1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed[Adam], but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

And at another time he receives another manner of life which was produced out of incorruptible Seed 1 Pet 1:23

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible[Jesus Christ, the Logos of God], by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Now the Birth out of the corruptible seed developes the corrupt old man with all his deceitful lusts Eph 4:22

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

And the Incorruptible seed develops the New Man, which after God is Created in Righteousness and True Holiness Eph 4:24

24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

I am come to call sinners to repentance !

I am come to call sinners to repentance !

Matt 9:13

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

The Lord Jesus Christ in saying this does not mean that He comes to call all men without exception to Repentance, even though by nature all men without exception are sinners !

No but He came to call those who know of their sinnership by the working of the Holy Spirit, those whom He reveals their sinnership to them Jn 16:8-9

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Until this work of the Spirit, man does not realize their true sinfulness and need to believe on Christ, so they remain unbelievers until then .

Yes, all men are sinners. but many do not consider themselves to be so as it was with the Pharisee and the publican Lk 18:9-13

And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:

10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Now of these Two, which one did Jesus come to call to repentance ? If we answer both, we answer dishonestly and not according to whats the revealed Truth, but if we say the publican, then we answered honestly and correctly according to scripture revelation.

Now all are sinners, even that Pharisee was ! But now all sinners that are convinced of their sinfulness, to them the Gospel call goes out and is sent to them the Gospel of their Salvation or Justification. remember what Jesus said of the publican when he finished praying ? Listen

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other:

And what is the promise to the Just ? Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

That publican in God's Time would hear the Good News of his Justification through the sent Gospel !

BTW, Its not as though an Pharisee as the self righteous one in the parable cannot be convinced of his sinnership by the Holy Spirit, for he can if he is one of the Elect, Paul is an example of that, but it takes a Sovereign Work of the Spirit to convince an self righteous man that even though they are faithful and sincere in religion, that they are just as wicked in God's sight as an drunkard or a fornicator , or even an idolater !

Believers in Christ are Abraham's Seed !

Believers in Christ are Abraham's Seed !

Believers in Christ,or those who belong to Christ, which are the same, are the seed of offspring of Abraham Gal 3:29

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

No matter jew or gentiles, believers in Christ are Abraham's Seed !

Now how did they become this ? No it was not by their own freewill that they made a choice to accept Christ as their Saviour, then by so doing they belonged to Christ and became Abraham's Seed, for that is false teaching.

They are this [Abraham's Seed] according to God's Promise to Abraham that He would make his offspring as the dust of the Earth Gen 13:16

16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. This is something God was going to do by His Power and Word of Promise !

So Believers are Children or Offspring of God's Promise to Abraham, as Isaac was Gal 4:28

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. Cp Gal 3:29

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The Heirs of Promise and Children of Promise are the same exact thing ! Also Rom 9:8

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

Again God Promised this Offspring to Abraham again or reaffirmed it in Gen 17:2-5

2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.[/B]

Gen 22:17

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

So Abraham's Seed in Gal 3:29 are products of God's Promise and Power, like Isaac was, to multiply his Seed, its accomplished by God's Word of Promise and Power.

Believers did not become to belong to Christ and become Abraham's Seed and Heirs by a freewill decision they made, why that's prepost-
erous, but because God was Faithful to His Promise to Abraham to give him a believing seed Heb 6:13-14

13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

And that why later the writer of Hebrews could write of True believers among them Heb 10:39

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Which are the Heirs of Promise. The we here means True Believers, that Seed which belongs to Christ Gal 3:29. They do not fall away, and why ? Because their becoming Believers was the result of God's Promise to Abraham to multiply His Seed, as Isaac was an Illustration of a producing a Child of Promise by God's Power and Promise, so Paul could say of True Believers, jew or gentile Gal 4:28

28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Nothing about Isaac's freewill made him a Child of Promise !

That we might live through him !

That we might live through him !

The objective in dying in another's stead, as Christ did for those He died for, is that they [the ones died for] may Live ! The point is made clear here in this verse 2 Sam 18:33

33 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son! Or:

33 [a] And the king was deeply moved and went up to the chamber over the gate and wept. And as he went, he said, “O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! Would I had died instead of you, O Absalom, my son, my son!”

David here in grief over the death of his son says"Would I had died instead of you" meaning if he had died in stead, his son would live. Well its the same principle in that Christ for a whole world of people, in their stead, that they may live to God. Jn 6:51,33

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

The World in View here in these verses must and does receive Life [spiritual] out of His Death in their stead, and by this He is the Saviour of that World 1 Jn 4:9-14

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

His Death made satisfaction for their sins or as Vs 10 says
"sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins"

And by that Satisfaction they shall live and not die in their sins Jn 8:24

24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

This can never be for any that are the objects of 1 Jn 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Christ died as the Seed of Abraham !

Christ died as the Seed of Abraham !

Christ died as the Seed of Abraham and for the Seed of Abraham, for since He died for His Body , The Church, the Church, His Body is the Seed of Abraham.

Now who can deny that Christ is the Seed of Abraham, for scripture bares testimony of this, God speaking to Abraham about his seed, which is Christ says Gen 22:18

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Now who is this " Thy Seed" ? Again this is reaffirmed in the NT Acts 3:25

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

And surely what can be plainer than Gal 3:16

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

Which Christ the Apostle writes 1 Cor 15:3

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ [The Seed of Abraham] died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Christ died as the Seed of Abraham so much so that when He took on flesh, it was that of the Seed of Abraham Heb 2:16

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

And so, who's sins were laid to His Charge ?, It was the Seed of Abraham's, for in taking on the Seed of Abraham, He must take on their sins, which Heb 2:17 confirms Heb 2:17

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren [The Seed of Abraham], that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people[The Seed of Abraham].

The sins of what People ? Vs 16, the Seed of Abraham ! And so, all that do believe in Him, which He died for, His Sheep Jn 10:26, and they belong to Him, are Abraham's Seed and Heirs according to Promise Gal 3:29

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed[Heb 2:16], and heirs according to the promise.

All Believers that belong to Christ, were as Isaac was, Children of Promise [ Gal 4:28] !

These then which are Christ's, as the Seed of Abraham, were under the Law and did in Adam Transgress and incurred guilt, which did require them to be redeemed, and it was for them [Abraham's Seed Heb 2:16]; And it was of Christ [Abraham's Seed Gal 3:16] this Gal 4:4-5

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them [Abraham's Seed] that were under the law, that we[Abraham's Seed] might receive the adoption of sons.

This is saying the same thing as Heb 2:16-17

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

He took on the Seed of Abraham for the Purpose of Redeeming them or to make reconciliation for the People !

It was for them He must take on their sins, and to put them away, by the sacrifice of Himself, and for this reason also, Isaiah did write Isa 53:6

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all[The Seed of Abraham].

The iniquity of us all must refer to the Seed of Abraham Heb 2:16-17, and this also explains who the every man is in Heb 2:9, every man of the Seed of Abraham Vs 16 !

What about Jn 6:40

What about Jn 6:40

Jn 6:40

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Many who reject the Truth, take this verse somehow to mean conditional Salvation upon one seeing and believing, but that is a willful error, and very serious, for both seeing and believing are spiritual activities, and they are not here imperatives or commands to do as conditions, but they are descriptions of the ones who have Eternal Life given to them and will be raised up on the last day; and its these fitting this description whom it was the Will of the Father which Christ came down from Heaven.

Now understand this, Spiritual Life is a prerequisite for spiritual sight, which sight goes before believing, for you are believing in what you are seeing in this instance, and just not a glance but the word here for seeth is the greek word theōreō:

to be a spectator, look at, behold

a) to view attentively, take a view of, survey

1) to view mentally, consider

2) to see

a) to perceive with the eyes, to enjoy the presence of one

b) to discern, descry

c) to ascertain, find out by seeing

One translation reads: fixes his gaze on the Son

We, men by nature are blind and our understanding [mental capacity] is darkened, the Spirit must open up blind eyes Isa 42:7.

The Spirit is where the Life comes from to see Spiritually the Son, the Spirit mediated through Christ gives Life Ezk 37:14

14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the Lord have spoken it, and performed it, saith the Lord.

See Ezk 36:26-27 before this !

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Its only after we have been made to Live by the Spirit, that we can look, gaze upon, view attentively upon the Son, and believe on Him.

Repentance !

Repentance !

The fatal mistake of religionists in our day is that they believe repentance in regards to Salvation, is something the natural man, dead in sin, is commanded by God to do [Acts 17:30], in order that He will save them. In other words they falsely believe that its an condition, as in conditional Salvation, conditioned on the act of the sinner; However this is grave error, and quite dishonoring to Christ whom G=gives Repentance as an benefit to them He died for Acts 5:31;11:18. Repentance unto Salvation is a New Mind or a Change of Mind about God. Its quite different from the mind of the flesh that we all have by nature Rom 8:5

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

And that which is born of the flesh [natural birth] is flesh Jesus says Jn 3:6

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Paul here in Rom 8:5 does not mean believers, but those who are of the flesh as in not born again, the unregenerate, that is what is called " that which is born of the flesh is flesh " Jn 3:6.

The fact of the matter is that the unregenerate cannot be nothing but those who live according to the flesh and set their minds on things of the flesh, which is quite normal for them. Everything he does is out of the flesh, even his religion and service to God.

That's what the writer of Hebrews calls dead works Heb 9:14

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

That's religious activity done by those who are dead to God, but still think by doing these things they are living for God's Glory !

Its what Peter calls that vain conversation or manner of life 1 Pet 1:18

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

True Repentance, which is meant here Acts 11:18;5:31;17:30;20:21 can never come from a mind that is set upon the flesh, for such a mind is hostile to God, and does not submit to God, and indeed cannot Rom 8:7-8

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

And the Repentance the Gospel calls for as in Acts 20:21

21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

That Repentance pleases God ! So the conclusion is this, we can forget about Repentance toward God Acts 20:21 by anyone that is not born of the Spirit first, and who is only a mere natural man, it cannot happen Rom 8:8

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God !

Without strength

Without strength

Rom 5:6

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

What does Paul mean by without strength ? The word in the greek it means:

weak, infirm, feeble

In Acts 4:9 its translated impotent !

If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

This man was helpless and needed others to carry him, he had no ability to get around. Acts 3:2

And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

The meaning Paul conveys here in Rom 5:6 is that sinful man by nature is without any capability to help himself from his spiritual ruin. Jesus came to aid such Matt 11:5

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Simply speaking men by nature are dead to God. In such a condition only life can be the remedy, an miracle.

To be able to make a spiritual advancement towards God and Christ, a miracle must first enable us to walk, to walk by faith !

The Lord added to the church such as should be saved

The Lord added to the church such as should be saved

Acts 2:47

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

This scripture should remind us that Salvation is by the Sovereignty of God, all whom shall be saved has been predetermined by God, and not the will of men, because they are Children of Promise as was Isaac was Gal 4:28

In fact, who shall be saved and lost has been predetermined by the Lord. Those whom God added to the assembly of the saved in Acts 2:47 mare the same as in the beginning He did choose to Salvation [conversion] by belief of the Truth as here 2 Thess 2:13,14

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

And it is because these here in Acts 2:47 had been objects of the Spirit's Sanctifying Work, that they were enabled to respond to the Gospel Call of God through Peter to them. That this was the case is seen in Peters words here Acts 2:39

39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

The same call as in 2 Thess 2:14

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The word added in Acts 2:47 is the word prostithémi and means:

I place (put) to, add; I do again.

to gather

To increase. Believers are the result of God adding or increasing the numbers of His Church !

Acts 5:14

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

God's Foreknowledge !

God's Foreknowledge !

Acts 2:23

23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

God's Foreknowledge is not God in His omniscience knowing all things, even though that is True of Him, but its God's Knowledge of something based upon His determinate Counsel and the text above states it perfectly !

His determinate counsel also means His deliberate plan , or his prearranged plan or the definite plan or God's settled purpose .

And based upon this premise God knows everything that shall be because He determinate it to be so.

Before Adam or the Devil had Being, God knew what their actions would be, yet He Created them according to a settled and definite Purpose !

So God's foreknowledge is not based upon what He saw would occur outside of Himself or His set purpose, but what He Himself determined what should happen !
