Trump is delusional. I thought that would have been painfully obvious to you by now. Mental health professionals have warned about him for years to no avail, unfortunately for us all.
It's kind of a tip-off that he wanted the poor to have guns. These days, what sort of republican would do anything at all for a homeless person. Being a libertarian, this guy didn't care about such distinctions. It's not a good move, given that homeless people are often mentally-ill.
And no, mentally-ill people aren't more violent than others, but they do scare easily sometimes. I'm concerned about someone harassing one of them. A shotgun is too handy a fix for that problem.

Feds Admit 1,250 More Immigrant Children Were Separated From Parents
Sabraw noted the process of reuniting the newly separated families is likely to be more arduous than the first time around.
Steven Herzog – who heads the steering committee of law firms and nonprofits working to reunite separated families – confirmed most of the parents have been deported to Guatemala and Honduras.
“It’s going to be more challenging to track them down than the initial group of 471 parents who were deported without their kids,” Sabraw said.
Herzog said a group of nearly 100 attorneys have made more than 4,200 phone calls to parents and sponsors in their reunification efforts for the 868 children of possible new class members that have so far been identified.
About 436 sponsors and 225 parents have been reached.
Only 23 parents have been located in their countries of origin so far, Herzog said.

Thus, America finally has closure on a minor scandal that many of the nation’s most powerful and influential news editors treated as if it were the most important issue facing voters in the 2016 election. “In just six days,” according to an analysis of 2016 coverage published in the Columbia Journalism Review (CJR), “the New York Times ran as many cover stories about Hillary Clinton’s emails as they did about all policy issues combined in the 69 days leading up to the election.” And the Times was hardly alone in this regard.

Of those white evangelical Protestants, we found that 60 percent believed that atheists would not allow them First Amendment rights and liberties. More specifically, we asked whether they believed atheists would prevent them from being able to “hold rallies, teach, speak freely, and run for public office.” Similarly, 58 percent believed “Democrats in Congress” would not allow them to exercise these liberties if they were in power. . . .
But evangelical Christians would strip away atheists’ rights
However, we found that a smaller proportion of white evangelicals would behave with tolerance toward atheists than the proportion of atheists who would behave with tolerance toward them. Thirteen percent of white evangelical Protestants selected atheists as their least-liked group. Of those, 32 percent are willing to extend three or more of these rights to atheists. In fact, when we looked at all religious groups, atheists and agnostics were the most likely to extend rights to the groups they least liked.
Conservative Christians believe their rights are in peril partly because that’s what they’re hearing, quite explicitly, from conservative media, religious elites, partisan commentators and some politicians, including the president. The survey evidence suggests another reason, too. Their fear comes from an inverted golden rule: Expect from others what you would do unto them. White evangelical Protestants express low levels of tolerance for atheists, which leads them to expect intolerance from atheists in return. That perception surely bolsters their support for Trump. They believe their freedom depends on keeping Trump and his party in power.
