Militia members arrested in alleged mosque attack plot

Three right-wing militia members have been arrested for allegedly planning attacks at a mosque and a housing complex in Kansas, CBS News has learned.

The attack would have specifically targeted Somali refugees, a source told CBS News.
The charges were announced by the U.S. Attorney’s Office at a news conference Friday in Wichita.
Federal prosecutors allege the three men -- identified as Curtis Allen, Patrick Stein and Gavin Wright -- are members of a group calling itself the Kansas Security Force.
Acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall says the three conspired to detonate a bomb at an apartment complex with about 120 residents. The attack was planned for Nov. 9, the day after Election Day, authorities said.
They were arrested Friday after an eight-month FBI investigation.

Three Kansas Men Charged With Plotting a Bombing Attack Targeting the Local Somali Immigrant Community

Curtis Allen and Gavin Wright, both 49, and of Liberal, Kansas, and Patrick Eugene Stein, 47, of Wright, Kansas, appeared in federal court to face a charge of conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction (explosives), in connection with their plot to detonate bombs at an apartment complex in Garden City, Kansas where Somali immigrants live and worship.
The announcement was made by Assistant Attorney General for National Security John P. Carlin and Acting U.S. Attorney Tom Beall of the District of Kansas.

“According to the complaint, these three defendants conspired to conduct a bombing attack against an apartment complex occupied by men, women and children in the Garden City, Kansas community,” said Assistant Attorney General Carlin. “Protecting our nation from such attacks, whether they are rooted in domestic or international terrorism, is our highest priority.”

“These charges are based on eight months of investigation by the FBI that is alleged to have taken the investigators deep into a hidden culture of hatred and violence,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Beall. “Many Kansans may find it as startling as I do that such things could happen here.

As soon as one reads a post in which the term 'allege" or its derivatives, is contained in some incident or something- —— caveat— when reading,,,,, the person usually has some gripe. It's a word I stay away from because it usually backfires, you know, like why post something that is not true or hasn't been proved or better yet is set up post for God knows what.

In the above post——-"allege' is mentioned three times. Wow, uhhh then what is the point?

Is the Mosque harboring ISSIS?

Is the Mosque practicing Sharia law?

is the Mosque preparing one of those "no go" zones.

Annabedetti you should have posted -why, or what was their reason———-uuuuhhh on this "alleged" stuff.

They have to say alleged. They've been charged, not convicted.

It sounds like the FBI did an excellent job of protecting the lives of innocent people.

Doing an internet search for the group, I only came up with a Facebook page.

Can we both agree anna that the FBI should be as diligent in protecting innocent lives by thoroughly investigating groups like "Black Lives Matter" and various Muslim Mosques where terrorists are trained?

Beall and Jackson, at the news conference, said the men were stockpiling weapons and were going to publish a manifesto after the bombing, which was occur Nov. 9 so as to not affect the general election.One of the men said that the bombing “would quote, ‘wake people up,’” Beall said.
