Did Richard Nixon suffer from the same malady that when he engaged in "ping pong" diplomacy with Communist China?

Was Ronald Reagan a "closet communist" when he signed those nuclear reduction accords with the USSR in Iceland?

Given that Britain, China, France, Russia, Germany and Iran are also involved in these talks, there is no guarantee that any of these nations would leave the negotiations and not make their own deal if Obama were to walk away now.

It appears that conservatives think that only Republican presidents are entitled to engage in foreign negotiations and that everybody else is suspect.
