New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said Wednesday that the state was getting hit hardest in the United States because of their welcoming spirit.
Cuomo noted that New York had 15 times the coronavirus cases of California and other states and offered his opinion about why that was the case.
“Because we welcome people from across the globe,” he said. “We have people coming here, we have people who came here from China, who came here from Italy, who came here from all across the globe.”

Well, who doesn't want life back as to how it was before this pandemic? I'd like to be able to go down my local pub and socialise with friends, to be able to go out more than once a day for essential purposes only etc. I also don't want hospitals being overrun and more and more people getting sick and dying because measures are lifted that allow this virus to spread unchecked. As soon as it's tenable for regulations to be relaxed then great, couldn't come soon enough but only when the situation is under control, otherwise it's just irresponsible.

We thought we should take part and didn't expect a lot of neighbours to appear at 2000 gmt, but we were amazed to find the whole road out and waiting, all calling to each other every which way.
The noise at 2000 was so loud! People were clapping, banging tins together, drumming.........
I notice that BBC is reporting the US to have the highest number of covid sickness today.
Wednesday figure reported was 55,000
Thursday............ 70,000
This morning.......85,500
If the US peak is, say, a month away then any maths calc taken from the above and expanded x28 is catastrophic, I think.

The earnest policing of isolation begins today. Have you got plenty of good reasons for going out?
I have been bike riding quite a lot up 'til now, but we are only supposed to go out once a day for exercise and so I am going to take one long ride instead of a few shorter ones.
We are supposed to go to the nearest food shops (only) but because my wife has a stomach condition I will be going to the larger supermarkets that have dairy-free and gluten-free displays, so I guess that will be reason enough to have gone past smaller shops.
Although Builders Merchants are all closed, one is taking telephone orders for home delivery, so I'm going to telephone one order through for everything that I will need for my summer jobs, together with whatever wifey wants for decorating. I think our home is going to get a bit of a brush-up this summer.
You like your local, I know....... I'm guessing that you're a local and special brew connoisseur and so the supermarkets will be unlikely to fulfill either the brews, the company or the atmosphere, but after this business you will surely have a much deeper knowledge of tins and bottles. Have you ever thought of home-brewing? That could be a really good hobby to dive in to...... !!

An Italian government virologist came out the other day and said that almost all of Italy's deaths attributed to the coronavirus were due to underlying health issues, and almost all of the people who died were in their 80s. What's that tell us? That heart disease, obesity, diabetes, autoimmune disease, etc... were the underlying cause of death in almost all of the people who died from the coronavirus. Italy got hit hard because it's population is older, and older people have more of the underlying causes of death than the general population has.
The government virologist said they only had a small percentage of the paper work from the hospitals at that time, but of the paperwork they did have only 2% of the deaths were actually caused by the coronavirus. So, when that is taken into consideration the number of deaths in Italy due to coronavirus are very low. The reported deaths due to coronavirus in Italy is 8125. Multiplying that by .02 gives us 164 deaths by coronavirus without underlying health issues.
Fortunately obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are very uncommon in the US...
I am aghast at what is happening in NYC.
