Poor kids. My heart just goes out to these over-worked, under-educated, over-scheduled, harassed kids.

We need to add to the list: poor nutrition by way of the school cafeterias & constant availability of sodas & high-sugar, high-fat snacks. How are they ever going to learn?

Just another reason the government can feel justified in diagnosing kids with ADHD and pumping them full of Ritalin so they can sit still and learn. Not too mention the little $$$ financial $$$ incentive the schools get for each child who is "properly diagnosed" by one of the clinical professionals. :greedy:

One other thing that cracks me up about government education is that each school has posters all around declaring - "Proud to Be a Drug Free School Zone." Yet, half the students are lining up at the nurses office at lunch time each day to take their afternoon dose of Ritalin, Prozac, Zoloft, Adderall or any number of psychotropic drugs! :nono:

What we need here is a little parental education in special ed. Once a kid is qualified for sp.ed., he can get "services" - that means therapies & special treatment, which cost the school system $$$ The parents need to be requesting behavior specialists, evaluations, pull-outs for therapies, adaptive P.E., etc. It would bankrupt the system & force them to either quit mis-diagnosing the kids, or shut down the whole works - or maybe privatize the whole she-bang.

10th-12th – I was experimenting with my “bi-sexual” side. I pierced several parts of my body and got some tattoos. I was still using drugs and sleeping around.

DX would you agree that this behaviour was a result of your own need to rebel and find an identity that was lost to you in a state of diffusion? I would not think it true that you actually had an attraction towards women, as I do not think women are libido object fixated, rather make cognitive choices and in your case, here your were choosing to rebel against some former principle.

It had nothing to do with "attraction," but rather rebellion and because bisexuality was trendy and "hot" among my peers. Plus, I was bored with men and this seemed liked the next level of excitement. Boy was I disappointed. :hammer:

I've always wondered how you came to accept atheism? Did you become an atheist at a young age or later in life? If you don't mind sharing I'd like to know.

Did you forget the Calculus in the list or did you not get it in HS? I don't know how you got very far in physics without it. Add drama, debate, and choir to the list & you have my curriculum choices. Didn't stop my learning all that other stuff mentioned by DX though - guess I'm gifted that way. :chuckle:
