:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

We have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast.
Hebrews 6:19

:poly:

I am Anchored, And Secure

There is joy in my heart all the day,
And the song that I sing is ever new;
I have anchored my hope on the Rifted Rock,
And its clear flowing water I view.

There is peace in my heart all the day,
For I know my Redeemer still is near;
O He tells me of rest, that shall yet be mine,
And His voice in my spirit I hear.

There is love in my heart all the day,
And the law of the Lord is my delight;
And a mansion eternal is waiting me,
In the home that with glory is bright.

I am anchored, and secure,
And I dread not the stormy waves that roll,
I am anchored firm and sure,
Safely anchored on the Rock of my soul.

Praise the Lord!

As your days, so shall your strength be.
Deuteronomy 33:25

:poly:

My times are in Your hand.
Psalm 31:15

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day;
I don't borrow from its sunshine,
For its skies may turn to gray.

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand,
But I know who holds tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.

:poly:

Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.
James 5:7

Until Then

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a trail that's winding always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.

But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I'll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.

:poly:

I am with you always.
Matthew 28:20

Never Alone

I’ve seen the lightning flashing, I’ve heard the thunder roll.
I’ve felt sin’s breakers dashing, which almost conquered my soul.
I’ve heard the voice of my Savior, bidding me still to fight on.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone!

No, never alone, no never alone, He promised never to leave me,
He’ll claim me for His own; no, never alone, no never alone.
He promised never to leave me, never to leave me alone.

Praise the Lord!
That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:17-19

:poly:

Sunday Morning Praise

The Love of Christ

How broad is Christ's love? Oh, as broad as man's trespass,
As wide as the need of the world can be;
And yet to the need of one soul it can narrow
He came to the world and He came to me.

How long is Christ's love? Without end or beginning,
Eternal as God and His life it must be,
For, to everlasting as from everlasting
He loveth the world and He loveth me.

How deep is Christ's love? Oh, as deep as man's sinning.
As low as the uttermost vileness can be;
In the fathomless gulf of the Father's forsaking
He died for the world and He died for me.

How high is Christ's love? It is high as the heavens,
As high as the throne of His glory must be;
And yet from that height He hath stooped to redeem us
He so loved the world and He so loved me.

How great is Christ's love? Oh, it passeth all knowledge,
No man's comprehension its measure can be;
It filleth the world, yet each heart may contain it
He so loves the world and He so loves me.

Praise the Lord!

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”

Psalm 91:2
O LORD, You are my God.
I will exalt You, I will praise Your name,
For You have done wonderful things;
Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Isaiah 25:1

:poly:

Lord, Thou Knowest

Then the LORD God called and said…Where are you?
Genesis 3:9
“O LORD, You know…altogether.”
Psalm 139:4

Heavenly Father,
As in the day or in the dark of midnight,
And when the minutes turn into hours,
Or while laboring in the heat of the day;
And through the quiet and the stillness hours,
I know Thou art with me, ever near,
Watching over me as a mother does her child.

I shall fear not in the heat of the day,
Nor chill of the night, or in the darkest hours,
Because Thou, O Lord art with me,
Thou will lead on my life’s path,
And though I may have a stone for a pillow,
Even there it will be like as leaning on Jesus.

Yes Lord, Thou knowest altogether.

Amen.

:poly:

For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.
Psalm 103:14

Mindful of Our Human Frailty

Mindful of our human frailty
Is the God in whom we trust;
He whose years are everlasting,
He remembers we are dust.
Changeless is Jehovah’s mercy
Unto those who fear His name,
From eternity abiding
To eternity the same.

Praise the Lord!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me ALL the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.

Psalm 23:6
Let Your mercy, O LORD, be upon us, just as we hope in You.
Psalm 33:22

:poly:

But God, who is rich in mercy.
Ephesians 2:4

Rich in Mercy

“Rich in mercy,” hear the message full of blessings from above;
God is calling to the wayward in the sweetest tones of love:
“Rich in mercy,” gracious accents, falling like a breath from Heav’n;
Souls are purchased with a ransom, and the contrite are forgiv’n.

“Rich in mercy,” loud proclaim it! May the heralds never cease
’Til every soul led captive finds in Christ a sweet release;
Come, then, howe’er needy, all thy needs to Jesus bring;
There are riches, and there’s mercy, in the presence of the King.

I am happy in the presence of the King, I am happy, O so happy!
I have peace and joy and love within, in the presence of the King.
“Rich in mercy,” wondrous story, let us sing it once again;
Sweeter music to the weary, than the angels’ glad refrain.

:poly:

Go your way…for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD.
Psalm 71:16

In The Strength of The Lord

I will go in the strength of the Lord, in the path marked for my feet:
I will follow the light of His Word, nor shrink from the dangers I meet.
His presence my steps shall attend, His fullness my wants shall supply;
On Him, till my journey shall end, my hope shall securely rely.

Praise the Lord!

We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1 John 2:1

:poly:

When We See Christ

Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,
We're tempted to complain, to murmur and despair;
But Christ will soon appear to catch His Bride away,
All tears forever over in God's eternal day.

Sometimes the sky looks dark with not a ray of light,
We're tossed and driven on, no human help in sight;
But there is one in heav'n who knows our deepest care,
Let Jesus solve your problem — just go to Him in pray'r.

Life’s day will soon be o’er, all storms forever past,
We'll cross the great divide, to glory, safe at last;
We'll share the joys of heav’n — a harp, a home, a crown,
The tempter will be banished, we'll lay our burden down.

It will be worth it all when we see Jesus,
Life’s trials will seem so small when we see Christ;
One glimpse of His dear face all sorrow will erase,
So bravely run the race till we see Christ.

:poly:

Now we see but a poor reflection…then we shall see face to face.
1 Corinthians 13:12

Face to face With Christ, My Savior

What rejoicing in His presence, when are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened, and the dark things shall be plain.
Face to face I shall behold Him, far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory, I shall see Him by and by!

Praise the Lord!

Go work today in my vineyard.
Matthew 21:28

:poly:

He Set the Task For Me

Though the work of life be lowly,
Let me true and faithful be;
This the thought that makes it holy Christ has set the task for me.

Hush, O heart, thy wild ambition!
Toil, O hands, in service free!
Blest indeed is my condition Christ has set the task for me.

Christ, I know, will not forget me
When at length the evening falls;
From the place where He has set me I will answer when He calls.

He has set the task for me!
Yes, He has set the task for me!
This the thought that makes it holy Christ has set the task for me!

:poly:

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.
Colossians 3:23

My Task

To love someone more dearly ev'ry day,
To help a wand'ring child to find his way,
To ponder o'er a noble tho't and pray;
To follow truth as blind me long for light,
To do my best from dawn of day till night,
To keep my heart fit for His holy sight;
And then my Savior by and by to meet,
When faith hath made her task on earth complete,
And lay my homage at the Master's feet,
Within the jasper walls This crowns my task.

Praise the Lord!

Peace to you!
As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.

John 20:21

:poly:

So Send I You

So send I you to labor unrewarded,
To serve unpaid, unloved, unsought, unknown,
To bear rebuke, to suffer scorn and scoffing,
So send I you to toil for Me alone.
As the Father hath sent Me, So send I you.

So send I you to bind the bruised and broken,
O'er wand'ring souls to work, to weep, to wake,
To bear the burdens of a world aweary-
So send I you to suffer for My sake.
As the Father hath sent Me, So send I you.

So send I you to hearts made hard by hatred,
To eyes made blind because they will not see,
To spend, tho' it be blood, to spend and spare not-
So send I you to taste of Calvary.
As the Father hath sent Me, So send I you.

:poly:

Praise the Lord!

Whoever desires to come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Mark 8:34

Take Up Thy Cross

I walked one day along a country road,
And there a cross appeared, it was a cross, a cross I knew.
The one forgotten I had cast aside, the one, so long, that I had feared.
"I'll Take up my cross and follow You."
In answer to the blessed Savior's call;
How can I make a lesser sacrifice, when Jesus gave His all?

Praise the Lord!

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You.
Isaiah 26:3

:poly:

Peace, Troubled Soul

Peace, troubled soul, thou need’st not fear;
Thy great provider still is near;
Who fed thee last, will feed thee still:
Be calm, and sink into His will.
The Lord, who built the earth and sky,
In mercy stoops to hear thy cry;
His promise all may freely claim;
Ask and receive in Jesus’ name.

Without reserve give Christ your heart,
Let Him His righteousness impart;
Then all things else He’ll freely give;
With Him you all things shall receive.
Thus shall the soul be truly blest,
That seeks in God His only rest;
May I that happy person be,
In time and in eternity.

:poly:

Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3

Peace, Perfect Peace

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they.
Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
It is enough: earth’s struggles soon shall cease,
And Jesus call us to Heaven’s perfect peace.

Praise the Lord!

Waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:7

:poly:

Sunday Morning Praise

Waiting

Only waiting till the shadows are a little longer grown;
Only waiting till the glimmer of the day’s last beam is flown;
Till the night of death is faded from the heart once full of day;
Till the stars of heav’n are breaking thro’ the twilight soft and gray.

Only waiting till the reapers have the last sheaf gathered home;
For the summertime has faded and the autumn winds have come.
Quickly, reapers! gather quickly, all the ripe hours of my heart;
For the bloom of life has withered, and I hasten to depart.

Only waiting till the angels open wide the pearly gate,
At whose portals long I’ve lingered weary, poor and desolate:
Even now I hear their footsteps, and their voices far away;
If they call me, I am waiting, only waiting to obey.

Waiting for a brighter dwelling than I ever yet have seen,
Where the tree of life is blooming, and the fields are ever green:
Waiting for my full redemption, when my Savior shall restore,
All that sin has caused to wither; age and sorrow come no more.

:poly:

Whom have I in Heaven but You?
Psalm 73:25

Wait on the Lord

Wait on the Lord, wait patiently, and thou shalt in Him be blest;
After the storm, a holy calm, and after thy labor rest.
Wait on the Lord, for whom hast thou on earth or in Heaven but He?
Over thy soul a watch He keeps, wherever thy path may be.

Praise the Lord!

Eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:7

:poly:

I’m Waiting For Thee, Lord

I’m waiting for Thee, Lord, Thy beauty to see, Lord;
I’m waiting for Thee For Thy coming again.
Thou art gone over there, Lord, a place to prepare, Lord,
Thy home I shall share at Thy coming again.

’Mid danger and fear, Lord, I’m oft weary here, Lord,
The day must be near of Thy coming again.
’Tis all sunshine there, Lord, no sighing nor care, Lord,
But glory so fair at Thy coming again.

Whilst Thou art away, Lord, I stumble and stray, Lord;
Oh! hasten the day of Thy coming again.
This is not my rest, Lord, a pilgrim confessed, Lord,
I wait to be blest, at Thy coming again.

E’en now let my ways, Lord, be bright with Thy praise, Lord;
For brief are the days ere Thy coming again.
I’m waiting for Thee, Lord, Thy beauty to see, Lord,
No triumph for me like Thy coming again.

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

James 1:2-3

:poly:

Never Give Up

Never be sad or desponding,
If thou hast faith to believe.
Grace, for the duties before thee,
Ask of thy God and receive.

What if thy burdens oppress thee;
What though thy life may be drear;
Look on the side that is brightest,
Pray, and thy path will be clear.

Never be sad or desponding,
There is a morrow for thee;
Soon thou shalt dwell in its brightness,
There with the Lord thou shalt be.

Never be sad or desponding,
Lean on the arm of thy Lord;
Dwell in the depths of His mercy,
Thou shalt receive thy reward.

Never give up, never give up,
Never give up to thy sorrows,
Jesus will bid them depart.
Trust in the Lord, trust in the Lord,
Sing when your trials are greatest,
Trust in the Lord and take heart.

Colossians 3:15

The Blessings That Remain

There are loved ones who are missing from the fireside and the feast;
There are faces that have vanished, there are voices that have ceased;
But we know they passed forever from our mortal grief and pain,
And we thank Thee, O our Father, for the blessings that remain.

Thanksgiving, oh, Thanksgiving, that their love once blessed us here,
That so long they walked beside us, sharing every smile and tear;
For the joy the past has brought us, but can never take away,
For the sweet and gracious memories growing dearer every day.

For the faith that keeps us patient looking at the things unseen,
Knowing Spring shall follow Winter and the earth again be green,
For the hope of that glad meeting far from mortal grief and pain -
We thank Thee, Oh our Father, for the blessings that remain.

For the love that still is left us, for the friends who hold us dear,
For the lives that yet may need us, for their guidance and their cheer,
For the work that waits our doing, for the help we can bestow,
For the care that watches o'er us wheresoe'er our steps my go.

For the simple joys of living, for the sunshine and the breeze,
For the beauty of the flowers and the laden orchard trees,
For the night and for the starlight, for the rainbow and the rain,
Thanksgiving, O our Father, for the blessings that remain.

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much...
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly.

James 5:16-17

A Blessing in Prayer

There is rest, sweet rest, at the Master’s feet,
There is favor now at the mercy seat,
For atoning blood has been sprinkled there;
There’s a blessing in prayer, in believing prayer,
When our Savior’s name to the throne we bear;
Then a Father’s love will receive us there;
There is always a blessing, a blessing in prayer.

Always Enough

Always enough of grace is giv’n to me from day to day,
Always enough of grace to help me on the upward way.

Always enough of comfort to console me when I’m sad,
Always enough of peace in time of storm to make me glad.

Always enough of Jesus’ love to fill me with delight,
Always enough of hope to keep faith’s altar burning bright.

Always enough of joy to make my heart rejoice and sing,
Always enough of pleasure in the service of my King.

Always enough for me,
This is my song, the whole day long,
There’s always enough for me.

The Last Mile of the Way

If I walk in the pathway of duty,
If I work till the close of the day;
I shall see the great King in His beauty,
When I’ve gone the last mile of the way.

Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:20-21

:poly:

Show Us Thy Grace

Show Us Thy Grace!
Show us our need, O Lord; how lost, how hopeless,
How poor, how sunk in sin our carnal hearts;
Show us how vain to change our sad condition,
Our best endeavor and our utmost arts;
Show us how weak we are, and how dependent,
How multiplied defeats our pride abase;
And then O Lord, lest we despair too wholly
Show us Thy grace!

Show us Thy grace, the great, the all-sufficient,
Infinite riches for our poverty,
Mercy of God for uttermost salvation,
Weapon that turns defeat to victory;
Gladness unspeakable and full of glory,
Beyond our needs, a vast unmeasured space.
Lord, as we never yet have seen or known it,
Show us Thy grace!

Sing Out Your Gladsome Carols

Sing out your gladsome carols, set all the echoes ringing!
Welcome the joyous season, welcome it now with singing.
Light in the midst of darkness, coming from realms of day;
Hail to the King of Glory, ’neath the star He lay!

Up from the lowly manger, tell out the wondrous story!
Jesus who brought salvation, dwells in His home in glory.
Looks with His love unceasing, down to the Christmas earth;
O let Him see increasing, faith in His great worth!

Memory so sweet and precious, Christ in a manger dwelling!
Born in a lowly stable, coming from light excelling!
Seeking that lowest place, henceforth that all might know,
How He who brought salvation, came God’s love to show.

Welcome! welcome! Joyous Christmas season!

Glory in the highest to God who reigns above.

Carol, sweetly carol, the happy Christmas time:
Hark! When the bells are pealing their merry, merry chime:
Carol, sweetly carol ye shining angels above,
Sing in loudest numbers oh, sing of redeeming love.

Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you, and the cedars of Lebanon.
Isaiah 14:8

:poly:

The Cedars and the Pines

In the tops of the cedars and pines,
A whisper was heard sweet and low;
And each branch as it hears and inclines,
Shakes off its fair burden of snow.
List!, the whisper says, Christmas is near;
The pines and the cedars all know
That they’ll aid in the joy and the cheer,
For this day they flourish and grow.

They have heard that their branches so green,
All ladened with silver and gold,
To enliven the fairy-like scene
Tinted candles abundant will hold.
While their fruits far more precious and rare,
Than summer or autumn can bring
Cause the children, so happy and fair,
Their praises to shout and to sing.

Then the whispering turns to a song,
And catching the welcoming cheer,
They, too, for the Christmas-day long,
And joy to leave forests so drear.
As the eve of the year nears its close,
When verdure and flowers seem dead,
Then the evergreen calm in repose,
To Christmas and gladness is wed.

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Luke 2:1-7

John 1:4-5

Light Looked Down

Light looked down and beheld Darkness.
“There will I go,” said Light.
Peace looked down and beheld War.
“There will I go,” said Peace.
Love looked down and saw Hatred.
“There will I go,” said Love.
Light came and did shine.
Peace came and gave rest.
Love came and brought Life.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
Luke 2:13-14

Across the Templed Hills

Now sweeps a song of solemn joy across the templed hills;
From seraph harps sweet music floats, that earth and Heaven thrills.
The tuneful notes still ring afar, like bells that gaily chime,
Thro’ moonlit skies, from star to star, to hail the Christmas-time.
We hear again the blissful the message breathed once more;
All glory be to God! we cry, whose name our souls adore.
Hark the song, glad song, overflowing all the earth!
Hark the anthem sweet, bringing news of Jesus’ birth!

Praise the Lord! Amen! and Amen!

Blessings, peace, grace and to all here at TOL!
