I feel that for some homosexuality is indeed a choice.

I've pointed out numerous times throughout this 3 part thread that many teens and young adults experiment with homosex because it's the trendy thing to do.

Yet at the same time, not everyone who has homosexual thoughts and feelings chose to have them. I didn't.

Correct, I've shown story after story where children had same sex desires due to the unhealthy environment they grew up in or were "damaged" to the beauty of God's plan for human sexuality after being physically or psychologically molested.

They do have the choice about what they do with those feelings though.

Do you think that we should have laws that should encourage people to choose the right path when it comes to sexual behavior?

I agree with you on that. It's not helped by the promotion of homosexuality is normal, good, healthy and pleasurable which happens all the time on TV, in movies and in society more generally.

Also, many adolescents go through a 'phase' where they feel attracted to someone of the same sex. When we bombard them with the message that this means they could well be gay, they are more likely to take that as their identity and live as such.

I agree that abuse is part of the problem. But not everyone who has homosexual thoughts or feelings was abused.

Do you think that we should have laws that should encourage people to choose the right path when it comes to sexual behavior?

I think that we should encourage people to choose the right path, and laws should be there to protect children and young people. But as you know I don't agree with the criminalisation of homosexuality itself.

See what happens when laws change and those who espouse immoral behavior are given the freedom to run loose like barbarians?

Note how I didn't say sexual abuse is responsible in all cases. Growing up in a fatherless home or being exposed to things like pornography, etc. can cause a child to have a very skewed view of human sexuality.

God gave us righteous laws to use to guide people down the right path, why not use them?

Ben Carson apologizes for comments on gay people

March 5, 2015

Washington (CNN)—Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson apologized for commenting Wednesday that prisoners' changes after they leave jail proves being gay is a choice, but said that the science is still murky on the issue.

And then, in a radio appearance later Wednesday, he criticized CNN for airing the comments he'd made in an interview and said he won't be addressing gay rights issues for the duration of his presidential campaign.

Carson had asserted Wednesday morning on CNN's "New Day" that homosexuality is a choice because people "go into prison straight -- and when they come out, they're gay."

He backtracked in a statement afterward, saying he "realized that my choice of language does not reflect fully my heart on gay issues."

"I do not pretend to know how every individual came to their sexual orientation. I regret that my words to express that concept were hurtful and divisive. For that I apologize unreservedly to all that were offended," he added.

Boy Dr. Carson, with all of your connections in the medical profession, you should look into getting one of these:

(But then since Dr. Carson is extremely ignorant on the subject, maybe it's best that he keeps his mouth shut).

In "Indoctrinate em while they're young" news:

The History-Making Gay Kiss: ‘The Fosters’ Features the Youngest Same-Sex TV Kiss Ever

3-3-15

Straight teens have watched their television counterparts smooch on-screen for years, but The Fosters made history by showing the youngest same-sex kiss ever on U.S. television.

Teenage love—it’s hormonal, complicated, and makes for great television.

On Monday night, ABC Family’s The Fosters featured a kiss between 13-year-olds Jude and Connor. So what’s the big deal? The boys’ lip-to-lip contact is apparently the youngest same-sex kiss on U.S. television.

Jude and Connor’s BFF-level friendship has been building over the past two seasons. Connor was introduced to the show when he hesitated to fend off bullies who were picking on Jude for wearing nail polish—only to end up painting his nails in solidarity with Jude, which made for a delightfully heartwarming television moment.

Let's just hope that ABC Family shows that "heartwarming moment" when 13 year olds Jude and Connor tell their parents that they've contracted AIDS.

Can we all agree that homosexuality is no longer something that "consenting adults do in private"?

I think you make excellent points:

And true, when ABC Family celebrates the gay male kiss between middle-schoolers, it is no longer a private matter, as was promised in 1973 ("just leave us alone", which privacy they had a right to.)

And I also feel that it is one thing to tolerate lgbt, another altogether to insist people accept fully, embrace, and celebrate gays as a powerful political lobby- and to promote it in the medical and psychiatric fields, politics, academia, public schools, media, and entertainment.

It is this last that is causing so much trouble and leading youth astray. Put the brakes on the celebration movement, and it would be a massive and healing change for many (without re-criminalization, which no longer stands a snowball's chance in hell).

You mean treat those who engage in a immoral, disease ridden and deadly yet changeable behavior like they're 2nd class citizens?

If sexual deviants can't celebrate their behavior and share it with others, what's the purpose in keeping it legal?

Pornography is legal and was once kept private (no longer true in our pornified culture)- we need a return to dignity and privacy.

I'd love to talk about what that supposedly harmless sin called pornography has done to our society (divorce, broken families, seeing women as sex objects, the gateway to kiddy porn, child molestation, etc. etc.).

Looking through the website I saw these words that are ever so true:

"And sin kills. Period".

No; it's far from harmless. And this is because it's come out into the light of every day mainstream living. I agree; it kills.

Another thing I have been growing SO weary of the past several years:

Every time some celebrity or politician speaks truth (although Carson was a bit off by saying prison leads to gayness), they later apologize and backtrack -

(not because they want to, but because they are advised it is politically or business-wise the expedient thing to do).

But you implied in your first post (as long as it was kept in private) that pornography had a "dignity" to it.

Lives are destroyed because of the things people do in private, there is no dignity to that whatsoever.

...(although Carson was a bit off by saying prison leads to gayness)...

He correctly stated that those who engage in homosexuality in prison often times come out of prison and do the same thing.

Homosexuality is a behavior that is caused by one's environment, Carson was pointing that out.

I meant leaving those who do not wish to be exposed to such, to their dignity.

Where is it said that they come out and engage in the same? Prison sex is certainly because no females are available, and that is not homosexuality, in which males are the only object.

I didn't know that there conditions, i.e. "If no women are available and you have sex with another guy it's really not homosexuality."

After being repeatedly used as a sex toy in prison, do you think that some guy is going to have a normal sex life after getting released?

1. When I said "a return to privacy and dignity" I did NOT mean porn in private is dignified; I meant the culture gains dignity by having it remain unseen.

2. I don't think Carson is correct that "people come out of prison gay"; they come out of prison having engaged in same sex activity while in there for obvious reasons. Prison sex was not the best way to speak about choice. And you yourself believe it is compulsive behavior stemming from molestation and in need of therapy - that is not choice, but illness.

3. How old are you, and how many children do you have?

Explain how that is possible. There are still victims even if porn is out in the open or not.

Are you saying that someone that had natural sexual desires prior to being incarcerated never has come out of prison after being exposed to homosex and engaged in homosexual behavior on the outside?

3. How old are you, and how many children do you have?

Old enough to marry. Regarding children: Yes, I'm what the LGBTQueer movement refers to as a "breeder" (I didn't know that the term originated in your beloved Provincetown. The things one learns in the WHMBR! thread).

I know there are, but there are far less, so that is at any rate better. I am going for what is feasible; there was prostitution even in the days of righteous laws.

Oh - hmmm. I simply assumed they'd be happy to get "back to normal".

Yes, I remember Wally White and Randy Becker vs. the breeders in 'Lie Down with Dogs'. .......
........Notwithstanding, do you not have room in your heart for one more son? (Me.)
