Was Jesus buried at the end of a day or the beginning of a day?
Neither...see? you poise your question as either or...when it is neither...
The day begins in the morning...and the previous day ends just before that...

So we see that as the Sabbath ends the new day begins in the morning...
You know what this means yes?
It was NOT a SUNDAY morning resurrection!!!
They arrived as the sun was rising into the new day AND FOUND THE TOMB ALREADY EMPTY
He rose the DAY BEFORE
That really does ruin Easter with its Sunday Ham...and the basis for Christian Sunday worship...
Translation is not easy...made harder if you attempt to insert a preconception into that which you translate...
Hebrews 4:9 Paul even had to reach back into the Hebrew language to use a word with Hebrew origins to assure fellow jews a sabbatismos, a sabbath keeping, remained for the people of Yah...
What would the word Sabbatismos mean to a greek speaker? They have their own words for rest or week or for a specific day of the week...
What Paul was "inserting" into the Greek language was the idea of rest on that day...the keeping of Sabbath a word originated from a Hebrew word for rest...and for a period of a day...not all day everyday or eternal

You are under the false impression that the Jewish day began in the evening. The Lord Jesus was raised from the dead early in the morning of the first day of the week. Then when the evening of that day arrived it remained the first day of the week:
"Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them" (Jn.20:19).

The women came to the tomb on the first day of the weeks.
Do you know when Jesus was buried according to scriptures?
There were two offering each day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Do you have any idea of the approximate time of the evening offering?

He was risen on the first day of the week...He was also risen on the second day of the week...He was also risen on the third day of that week...He is still risen today...imagine that...
He ROSE on the Sabbath prior that first day of the week that first day of the weeks/sabbaths...and in time for the first fruits festival...
Is why that early morning the tomb was found empty and they were told "He is not here"...
You do recall there was no punctuations initially and punctuation can be added with an agenda...
It all hangs on a comma.
Here it is without one...comma or agenda;
"Now when Jesus was risen on the first day of the week He appeared first..."
Here it is with an Sunday worship agenda
"Now when Jesus was risen on the first day of the week, He appeared first..."
But it could also be
"Now when Jesus was risen, on the first day of the week He appeared first..."
This latter one does set better with the theology found in scripture...
All on a comma...Devil is indeed in the details...
Here is another famous comma another diabolical doctrine needs for support
"Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Here again a comma supports an inserted agenda adding to the Word.
He did NOT go to paradise THAT day...even when He rose He had not been to the Father yet...
There are claims He went to Hell...but none say He went to Paradise to be with the theif...
Again all hung on a comma...
Here it is to support hell, and conscious life after death and who knows what else..."Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise."
Here it is without punctuation as it was initially written
"Truly I tell you today you will be with me in Paradise"
And now more in line with what scripture actually teaches
"Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in Paradise."

Can the term "day' refer to a twenty-four hour day or just a twelve hour day?
At evening time, the time when women go out to draw water, (Gen 24:11, John 4:6-7).
Because an evening and a morning are a yom. :chuckle:
However, there is the option of going by scriptural context rather than punctuation.
However, the punctuation is fine as it is.

The Lord Jesus is the Firstfruits (1 Cor.15:2) and the sheaf of the firstfruits was waved on a Sunday:
"Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest: And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the sabbath the priest shall wave it" (Lev.23:10-11).
The "type" was fulfilled on the same day as the "antitype".
Therefore, your placement of a comma is in error.
Which of these have anything to do with the one day into the next?
You got camels and wells and women drawing water...daylight ends sure...work day is over ok...but what's that got to do with next calendar day?
Wave away buddy...first fruits waving is indeed after the Sabbath, the morrow after the Sabbath...and the same day He appeared risen to one who sought Him and clung to Him but He told her He had to go Heaven to see His Father...and then He appeared risen the same day to those walking on their way to Emmus and also to those who didnt believe but were locked away in fear of the Jews...
Busy day He had...that first fruits day...
Thankfully He rose the day before well rested and refreshed...

Actually its a perfect match...His followers were now priests and well, He certainly presented Himself, not sure if He waved...Also presented Himself to His Father...
First fruits were to be presented and approved by the priests
Please recall the pattern on earth was to match that in Heaven...and HalleluYah His sacrifice His first fruit was approved as He went to Heaven to appear to His Father and was obviously approved and then He came back to appear to His priests...they also approved...all in one day...
Except for the rising part...He was risen it's true but rose the day before...and is still risen...
