When Did the Disciples of Jesus Stop Observing the Old Testament Laws?

1a: I am talking about both the Law which includes the Sabbath...and specifically for the gentile within their camp...and even their animals...

If it was only for the joo or house of Israel He would have said so but He didn't...He said it was for man...

Again is marriage only for joos? Sabbath and marriage were instituted about the same time for the same people..long before the tribe...

Besides why would a gentile follow the Hebrews out into the desert away from civilization and all they knew unless they really believed in Yah...but then elect not to worship Him on His day? That would be silly...of course they would want to do as He asked especially after witnessing all He did for them...

even on a social level when we meet one we fall in love with we wish to do as they request...it's natural to try and please the one we love...we are lucky we were given a direct means to earn favor...

2a: there was no choice everybody rested even the animals...what gentile would not want to after hiking around in the desert in the hot sun..."oh ok you guys rest I will keep walking..." Lol

how about when the manna fell...just on the joos was it?

Imagine a gentile refusing it...lol

3a for Catholics? Only?

How about Muslims or orthodox were they allowed...please tell us more

You are partly right. Jesus did ask the Jews to obey the Mosaic Law. Gentiles on the other hand are not given the Mosaic Law to observe any days.

Matthew 23:1-3 (NIV)
Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

Sabbath is 1/10 of Yah's Law...they were told to "remember" as it was already in observance...

Heaven! The Kingdom of Heaven is within us or among us. So, said Jesus in Luke 17:21. It is not a place to go to.

So the new Jerusalem will descend (and all the rest of the activities of the book of revelations)inside us?

Father is preparing a place for us mansions and what not inside us?

"Here are they that keep the Law of Yah and the testimony of Yahushua " walking around inside us yes?

The Father is neither Jew nor Gentile and his children are neither Jew nor Gentile.

It is what it is.

Luckily Sabbath was around before either...and well if we are to mirror Him and do His will and are made in His image and wish to be with Him, well we will do as He does...

Isaiah said it nicely "from new moon to new moon and sabbath to sabbath all will come and worship..."

Might as well start practicing now to get used to the seventh day rest cycle of it...

If it is a long post and not to me then I rarely read what is not meant for me; if you would like me to read what you think about circumcision, you should have answered me in the post I wrote a long time ago asking you about it.
that does explain a lot...

What difference do you think that means.
forcing someone to do something is much different than that person voluntarily doing it...

Paul was dealing with those that were advocating forcing the Gentiles crowding the synagogues every sabbath to circumcision...to force circumcise on them was to bring them into the idea that they had to do something to be saved...a burden that not even Israel could bear...

Why would you ever think that I would believe in circumcision if I do not believe in observing the Sabbath day?
you argue that circumcision was required for salvation...but not after the cross

It was never for salvation but to integrate more fully with Israel...

Gentiles that left Egypt with the exodus were saved...but if they wished to celebrate the Passover too... then they had to be cut...

Again Paul was dealing with Pharisees that argued Gentiles had to get cut to associate and/or be saved...Paul showed they were wrong on both counts...

Prove with scripture that it was just for rabbis.
it's not just for rabbis...but kosher plates pots and pans was instituted by the rabbis...

It is not wrong to celebrate a day.
if it is a day He instituted to celebrate...but celebrating Christmas is just like the Hebrews thinking it wasn't wrong to celebrate their God who brought them out of Egypt with a golden calf...

It just doesn’t make any difference to our salvation,
sabbath does...it is 1/10 the law we are to obey as we seek to please Him and well, it reminds us of our creation Passover and savior...as do the other special days He instituted...they teach us a lot about clean unclean, sin, sacrifice atonement and oh yes why and how and from Who we obtain it...special days He gave us make a big difference...

Celebrating other days He didn't just makes Him jealous...and He calls that idolatry...

UNLESS you think you are obeying God by observing a special day. If you do that, then you have fallen from grace and you are a bitter root who if talks others into it, then you have defiled that person.

Again if it is a day He instituted then you are obeying Him and it is good to talk others into it...

Prove with scripture that the Pharisees accused Jesus of not observing Moses’ other purification works.
ok

Mark 7:5 Then question him do the Pharisees and the scribes, `Wherefore do thy disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but with unwashed hands do eat the bread?'

See? it wasn't even from Abraham or Moses even... but the elders...their oral traditions...

That was easy...

Give the scripture and tell us where Moses commanded that.
well again...it was the elders' tradition for washing not Moses'...so that is not in scripture...like Sunday ham...not in scripture but from man's traditions...

And OOOPS! I confused this encounter with the Pharisees with another text...this Sabbath eating in the field was upheld with David's eating of the showbread...

Upholding Sabbath's spirit of healing refreshment...

Speak according to the scriptures.
I did. And He said better the Law of God than the tradition of man...it's all right there...and not too long I hope...and written to you if you accept scripture...

You say Sabbath keeping is not the Pharisees tradition, you need to prove that with scripture.

Yah is a Pharisee now?

Oh boy...

Just because they keep the tradition doesn't mean it's theirs...

They did make their own traditions and separating the wheat from the chaff is not easy stuff...ya got to beat the two apart...

Well, if you go according to Paul, the Mosaic Law should not be given to any one
at all. (Romans 7:1-7) Then, regarding the Law, Paul said once that he did prefer the Law in his mind but he couldn't help serving sin in his flesh. (Romans 7:25)That's more likely closer to the preacher who would say to his followers to do what he said, though not what he did because he was a sinner too.

That remains your misunderstanding of the NT. Paul said what the Law is in 7:1-7. And he said one can be helpless in front of the Law given.

In a nutshell, it says that Law is given to the Jews however the Jews can no longer abide by the Law.

The Jews can observe Sabbath as they wish. Gentiles Christians however don't observe it as the Jews do. Gentiles Christians follow Christ's teaching He said elsewhere where He didn't include Sabbath in His own teaching.

Do you lift anything on the Sabbath? Do you do anything for your pleasure on the Sabbath? Do you make light with your computer on the Sabbath? How about do you heat your house on the Sabbath?

No light and heat on the Sabbath.

1a:
1 - I am talking about both the Law which includes the Sabbath...and specifically for the gentile within their camp...and even their animals...

1a - Thousands of Gentiles slaves in Egypt at the time of the Exodus took advantage of the freedom given to the Israelites and followed them just for the chance to cease beings slaves themselves. Moses did not care.

2 - If it was only for the joo or house of Israel He would have said so but He didn't...He said it was for man...

2a - But Moses would not force any of the Gentiles to accept the Sabbath as the day of rest. So, it became the sign between HaShem and His People. (Ezekiel 20:12,20)

3 - Again is marriage only for joos? Sabbath and marriage were instituted about the same time for the same people..long before the tribe...

3a - Sabbath and marriage were and are for all but none is under obligation to undergo either.

4 - Besides why would a gentile follow the Hebrews out into the desert away from civilization and all they knew unless they really believed in Yah...but then elect not to worship Him on His day? That would be silly...of course they would want to do as He asked especially after witnessing all He did for them...

4a - They, the Gentiles who followed the Israelites must have pissed themselves off with regret. Big mistake!

5 - even on a social level when we meet one we fall in love with we wish to do as they request...it's natural to try and please the one we love...we are lucky we were given a direct means to earn favor...

5a - The satisfaction based on rewards only reminds of treats promise to dogs to behave well.

6 - there was no choice everybody rested even the animals...what gentile would not want to after hiking around in the desert in the hot sun..."oh ok you guys rest I will keep walking..." Lol

6a - That was perfectly all right to choose. Moses allowed them to follow the Israelites but not to stick to them against their will.

7 - how about when the manna fell just on the joos was it?

7a - No, on every one; Jews and Gentiles.

However, there is nothing more important to us than to abide by the Law. That was the whole problem of Paul against the Jews. Hence, the main reason for the Pauline policy of Replacement Theology.

The new Jerusalem here is a reference to the return of the Jews from exile and back into the Land of Israel. (Ezekiel 37:12) The New Jerusalem is an analogy to the Jewish New World Order.

No, Jesus no longer walk among us as he dwells in Sheol for 2000 years already. Now, who are they that keep the Law of God and the Faith of Jesus which was Judaism? The saints of the Most High aka the loyal Jews. That's in Rev. 14:12.

Please remember the manna came from heaven and not for just one tribe...

They certainly did not make it...

it is the only commandment of 10 that specifically includes the gentile...it's a day off why would anyone have to be forced? Yes a sign between Him and His obedient people...not even blood relationship or being cut could save any if disobedient...as disobedience is a lack of faith...

3 - Again is marriage only for joos? Sabbath and marriage were instituted about the same time for the same people..long before the tribe...

3a - Sabbath and marriage were and are for all but none is under obligation to undergo either.
to be His people you must obey...to obey you must have faith...to have sex and preserve the race you must marry be fruitful and multiply...just as naturally as to live you must breath

4 - Besides why would a gentile follow the Hebrews out into the desert away from civilization and all they knew unless they really believed in Yah...but then elect not to worship Him on His day? That would be silly...of course they would want to do as He asked especially after witnessing all He did for them...

many did think so and complained...no wait that was the Israelites...being stiffnecks etc

don't kid yourself mansions are being built for us He said...eternal life with Him is a reward...

6a - That was perfectly all right to choose. Moses allowed them to follow the Israelites but not to stick to them against their will.
EXACTLY...and it was the same when gentiles were crowding synagogues Sabbath after Sabbath to hear Moses read to them and more about the One resurrected...some of the tribe were insisting they be circumcised to be able to fellowship and /or be saved...Paul in all his arguments was disentangling the idea Gentiles had to be forced from the clear teaching they were to be allowed...Christians everywhere misuse his arguments to falsely maintain he taught the law was changed...just like the slanderous false witnesses in the book of acts...

7 - how about when the manna fell just on the joos was it?
Imagine a gentile refusing it...lol

7a - No, on every one; Jews and Gentiles.

Yes because "whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish" but have his reward He offers...if we trust and obey

Even Satan knows Yahushua is the Son of Yah...even Satan has the faith that He can save...even Satan knows he needs salvation and could be saved...

The only thing that separates him from the Almighty is disobedience...he rebels and seeks to destroy the law distort it change it...teach it no longer is valid

The only thing that distinguishes us from the evil one is our fruit...our obedience and desire to please Him with our faithfulness...we are known by what we do...His Will His way...

As faith without good works is dead...

They never were able to abide by the Law...no one is...

the Law remains for everyone but especially those who seek a way to express their gratitude and love for a way to be saved from the curse of the Law as it points to the One Who kept it perfectly and asks we do the same...through Him

Now with Him and knowing what He has done for us NOT killing is easier...as is not stealing...NOT lying becomes what we do as does not fornicating...

With Him not coveting is also easier as is honoring our parents...

And of course with Him we desire to worship only God make no idols and not make His Name useless...

So why is it so hard to rest for one day with Him as He does and asked us to continue?

Matthew 23:2-3 New American Standard Bible (NASB)
saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses; 3 therefore all that they tell you, do and observe, but do not do according to their deeds; for they say things and do not do them.
Did Jesus expect his followers to stop following the Law?

Yup...do observe...and nope He doesn't...

It saddens me such simplicity is not appreciated...

"But but but the temple is destroyed now!"...some argue as if even after the destruction of the first temple there were not some who remained faithful and did and observed all they were told to do and observe...

Are you a judge?

Paul actually said he abide by the law very well. The Bible said that if one doesn't abide by certain laws, he will be cut off from his people.

Paul also said that it is because the Jews now (in Jesus' time) unable to abide by the covenant God gave to their ancestors that a New Covenant is thus needed. So it implies that, judging from the covenant their ancestors did abide by the Law.

Genesis 17:14 (NIV)
Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.

Exodus 12:15 (NIV)
For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel.

Exodus 12:19 (NIV)
19 For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And anyone, whether foreigner or native-born, who eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel.

Exodus 30:33 (NIV)
Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.

Exodus 31:14 (NIV)
Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.

Leviticus 7:20 (NIV)
But if anyone who is unclean eats any meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the LORD, they must be cut off from their people.

Leviticus 7:21 (NIV)
Anyone who touches something unclean—whether human uncleanness or an unclean animal or any unclean creature that moves along the ground—and then eats any of the meat of the fellowship offering belonging to the LORD must be cut off from their people.

Leviticus 7:25 (NIV)
Anyone who eats the fat of an animal from which a food offering may be presented to the LORD must be cut off from their people.

Leviticus 7:27 (NIV)
Anyone who eats blood must be cut off from their people.

Leviticus 17:4 (NIV)
instead of bringing it to the entrance to the tent of meeting to present it as an offering to the LORD in front of the tabernacle of the LORD—that person shall be considered guilty of bloodshed; they have shed blood and must be cut off from their people.

No I am not but I do judge and I judge Paul should know when he says ALL have sinned...so by reason none have kept the Law perfectly...

As for abiding by the Law...yes we are able to...the Spirit assists us despite our shortcomings...repentance is always possible

I like to say we can't keep the Law perfectly...it keeps us...

All we have sinned is how we have offended the set of Law applicable to all of us. It's not Mosaic Law. Only the Jews need to observe Mosaic Law to a predefined standard with Moses as the accuser.

To put it another way, are you saying that each and every Jew has broken the covenant God gave to them, and thus being cut off from ....what then?

James 2:10 (NIV)
For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.

Genesis 17:14 (NIV)
Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.

Leviticus 7:27 (NIV)
Anyone who eats blood must be cut off from their people.

So each and every Jew should have broken all the Law, such that he will be cut off from what? As no one else left for any Jew to be cut off from.
