How can any historical perspective justify what you said: "all countries are ours, to do with as we please." That to me is a huge problem and we are reaping what we have sown in the Mid East.

no world war

no major war ongoing

standards of living in even the poorest countries (in which we are involved) orders of magnitude greater than they have ever been in the past

if you want to see what life is like where we (western interests, not just USA - but we're the biggest) aren't involved, just take a look at the crappiest parts of africa - chronic civil wars, starvation, genocide and...

slavery, on a scale unheard of in colonial times:

The United Nations estimates that roughly 27 to 30 million individuals are currently caught in the slave trade industry

None of which is particularly "Islamic" but is rather despotic people using religion to advance their own agendas, similar to how Catholic monarchs have done in the past. Would you admit that the Spanish monarchs were Christian? Most of us Christians, even Catholics, repudiate such behavior as the Inquisition, and most Muslims of today repudiate the advancement of Islam through force as a hijacking of their faith. IOW, you are broad brushing Islam with the activities of a few that are not accepted by the whole. Typical racist attitude (yes I know Islam isn't a race but your attitude works the same way). And no, my history is not from 2002 on, but of course that's way more relevant to today's Muslim than any ideology put forth in antiquity. Why not just go back to what immediately preceded 9/11 to get an idea of what radicalized the Saudis who did it? The United States, through economic sanctions had just killed over 1 million Iraqis, including half a million children. Do you think these things go unnoticed in the Arab world like they do to ignorant Americans like you?

Do you think the Saudis were a fan of Saddam Hussein, and didn't want us to stop him? Seriously? I see no evidence whatsoever that the Saudis care or cared anything for Iraqi children. They're rich enough to help them if they want, just like they could help all these so-called "refugees". But, of course, they don't. Your willingness to drink any koolaid presented, no matter how far beyond belief it is, tells us everything.

You simply don't have any idea what gets Muslims radicalized. Political leadership in SA had little to fear from Saddam since SA spends more on their military than the rest of the Middle East combined. They spend as much as any European country. SA could handle Saddam just fine and probably didn't care to unseat a fellow Sunni. Now if he'd been Shia that would be a different story. But the 9/11 bombers weren't the Royal Saudi family, they were just a bunch of kids who could be told grand tales about how the West and the US was out to get the Muslims and those tales didn't need to be fabricated. Simple history would do.

Since Muslims have been radicalized since the inception of Islam, you obviously have no idea what radicalizes them either. And they pulled the first punch, actually many punches, before we ever did anything, so once again you fail.
