The Offense of Religion

Jesus doesn't need your help or your religion to save you.

"Wherefore he is able also to save them to the UTTERMOST that come unto God by him (Jesus Christ) seeing that he lives to make intercession for them" Hebrews 7:25.

Example. You have a medical problem. So, you call a specialist and make an appointment to see him, but you want to bring along your old practitioner when you go to see him. How do you think that the specialist (Jesus) is going to feel about you needing your old practitioner (religion) there.

There is no room in the Gospel for Calvinism, Catholicism, or any religion. Jesus is the savior and he saves to the UTTERMOST. No religion needed. Religion is not an indication of faith. It is an indication of the absence of faith. Religion is about you and what you do. The Gospel is about Jesus Christ and what he has done on your behalf.

Jesus doesn't save us by doing something in us (religion). Like making us holy or good enough. Jesus saves us by doing something totally and completely outside of us. Paul wrote, "While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us". Before we were born salvation had been provided for us by the doing and the dying of Jesus, no religion needed (the old practitioner).

Jesus is at the right hand of God in heaven, a place of honor, privilege and respect. He is there mediating his righteousness and his atonement for our sins. When God looks at us all that he can see is his Son Jesus Christ, "For you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God" Colossians 3:3. I don't know about you, but that is exactly where I want to be. I don't want God to see me in this sinful Adamic body. I want to be hid with Christ in God.

You teach that sinners Christ died for are going to perish in their sins anyways. That's religion, false at that.

You need to get a new line, that one is old and false.

All who come to Christ as repentant sinners to be saved by him, will be saved, Romans 10:13.

It's a disgrace and offense to say that sinners Christ died for are going to perish in their sins anyways!

Something in us? Do you mean like conversion?

Being converted from the natural man to a spiritual man?

Is this what you mean?

The Gospel of the changed life is a false Gospel.

There are many counterfeits that think that they are saved, when in reality they are lost, because they are trusting in their changed life. This applies to many Calvinist and Catholics.

This is true, because a changed life does not necessarily mean repentance. Satan likely hates the word "repentance" as much as "faith." Repentance involves a changed mind, a change of heart, coming to agreement with the mind of Christ on the issues of salvation, which results in a change of action. Simply change of action, due to the likes of keeping some checklist, is putting the cart before the horse, also self righteous for a person to believe they can make themselves holy as God is holy, by their effort, in essence, buy salvation from God.

Many of the -isms of man are simply legalism, wearing a different hat, philosophy that appeals to man's heavy ego and need to feel they are in control. It's hard for many, many to be broken at the foot of the cross, realize they are nothing, that, in own rights, we may as well be worms and have nothing to offer holy God.

Our entire culture teaches the opposite, that success is carnal achievements and self esteem healthy. The world does not want to hear they need to be that broken publican of Luke 18, who couldn't even look up towards heaven. You see it all the time on message boards, people with this or that cultish belief system they believe sets them apart from everybody else, usually sneering at others, merely showing how black their hearts really are, and, in fact, merely parroting their Pharisaical religion, "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican." If it weren't for vanity, people needing to feel superior, damnable ego, you'd not even have cults or all the fake religion. Too many legends in their own minds, isn't this so?

Lack of repentance, and the fake religion that goes along with it, is going to damn multitudes.

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Of course he did, but he didn't put any faith in it, 1 Timothy 1:15.

And Paul is a prime illustration of repentance, an enemy of Christ until his Damascus Road experience, which turned him completely around and brought him to faith in the Lord Jesus, first and foremost.

Fundamental to true salvation, and one would think this intuitively obvious, is coming into agreement with God, which means seeing our sin, our helplessness and damnable selves, our need for cleansing and to conform to the will of God, a turning our back on the old ways. Absent a change of mind, one is, obviously, still in the devil's camp, and God is not going to save anybody who remains in agreement with the world, the flesh and the devil.

Faith is a very loaded word, means not only belief but surrender of our own self will and false beliefs, receiving a new Master, true faith having repentance built into it, just as the Bible points out the devils believe and tremble, that belief alone can be nothing, James 2:19, Mark 1:24.

Believing in the Lord Jesus is to believe the whole gospel, is not a Chinese menu where we pick and choose the scripture verses that suit our corrupt thinking, no such thing as a true child of God having one foot in hell, as is common in your Laodicean churches, trying to be friends of the world and friends of God. Doesn't work, at all, James 4:4.

This promotes salvation by works, by what a person does, hence a denial of salvation by Grace!
