Reading that this time, it surprised me 'at 35' as for me now, I think the move towards conservative is more in ones 50s than 30s, or am I getting so old? :idunno:
I think we all have some conservative tendencies and the way envelopes move over time holding onto any of them can feel that way. A bit like Reagan's quote on being left by the Dem. party.

Modern society infantilizes the young, more effectively now than ever before

That's why you had so many "adults" willingly voting for the likes of hillary and bammy

Their intellectual, emotional and psychological development has been stunted

Iow, they're retarded :)
Liberals retard growth

Liberals want socialism, what's to "describe"?
Most, but surprisingly not all. And according to the National Review 40% of Americans view socialism favorably. That's how irresponsibly greedy and indifferent the rich in this country have become. Not even the lottery carrot of "maybe me or mine will have the next big idea" is keeping it at bay. And it's worse with the millenials.

This irritates me, because all nonsense aside I believe in an intelligently regulated marketplace and that it can provide everyone a better life than socialism can manage. But not if we let the butchers of the world keep putting their thumbs on the scale and encourage them to lean. If it's true that democracies begin to die when the mob realizes its power, it's equally true that capitalism begins to fail when the most empowered learn to use it to unlevel the field.

... taking golfing lessons from Helen Keller. Entertaining as heck to watch, but you don't really learn anything about the game.

You're entertained by watching a handicapped person attempt something she's not capable of?

What a scumbag :nono:

You'll have to forgive liberal, low intellect Elton, he tries to show love and compassion, but his white privilege gets in the way

Kat brought up a good point, too. Liberals are always accusing conservatives of voting against their own interests.

An acquaintance of mine was complaining that her father votes conservative, even though she explained to him (so presumptuous, right?) that he's voting against his own interests.

I said, "So in other words, he's being selfless."

Why would you presume to make a judgment on her relationship with her father?

Are you involved in her relationship with her father?

Not at all. Never met him.
But I have interacted with her enough to know she is, in general, very presumptuous. That includes, by the way, the interactions she has described having had with her parents.

Why do you presume to know that she isn't presumptuous?

... actually, this doesn't matter to me. You're right - whatever.
