Is marital rape scripturally defensible?

Being made to submit equals use of force.

Forcing sex.

Your own words expose that you realize someone who is unwilling to submit is being FORCED.

Acting as if being a victim of rape because your own husband had you submit to sex is nonsense.
You can sit there all day and play semantics, but the meaning of the word rape, in it's most fundamental aspect, is 'to seize'. And women rape the marriage all the time. They use sex as a device of control, among other things.

I don't buy into the whole idolatry of the female body. They obsess over their image and expect men to treat them as holy temples in which they are excommunicated from if they do not please her in every way.

Yeah..
forget that noise. Your husband can't rape you, only inconvenience you. Marriage is being one in the flesh, not one being adversarial to the other, and that is what many of women have in their minds- to be adversarial.

No one has the authority to make anyone *submit* to sex. That marriage certificate does not invalidate a person's right to determine when they will or will not have sex.

no Christian spouse has the right to refuse marital relations - they lose your retarded "right to determine when they will or will not have sex" when they become one flesh

Cool story.

it's a story for those who are not in Christ

FYI - men have mechanical out. No one can force them to do anything. The mere attempt to overpower them would be met with flaccid refusal. So it's not true that they have no power to choose.

And since God gave men a natural way out, why would a man argue that women do not have one, too? Like his obligation to treat her like the apple of his eye? Matt 7:12 also would apply.

But in some twisted worlds - they can't divorce for adultery and the husband can bring home a communicable disease and force it on her. She can't say no to sex if she suspects adultery... even though the price she pays could be lifelong infertility.

And if she's menstruating, bleeding during pregnancy, or otherwise unwell down there she has to submit anyway? She has to explain herself, even if she doesn't want to, and submit based on his subjective, faulty opinion of her health? He wins because he's the head and he's stronger? Even if an unborn child ends up paying the price... real smart.

A man who won't take no for an answer is a man who wouldn't trust and believe a wife that she's unavailable because she's in pain, has a UTI, yeast infection, or threatened miscarriage or whatever.

Whereas a polite man wouldn't even have to hear about some stuff, just because his trust and manners keep his life simpler.

Unlike the true Shepherd, a rapist man like that posing as a husband is like the parable of the bad shepherds who kill and eat the sheep. That's not husbandry, that's a fraud.

It is n'one flesh if it is bestiality, such as it shall be, when mind, soul, and body are in opposition, when the heart stands opposed.

Which is far more consequential than a wife being made to submit to her husband.

Define this please.

Still waiting. Would also like to know where you believe that forcing your wife to 'submit" to what YOU (not God) demands comes from - cite it after you define what you mean by her being made to submit and having your wife submit.

Im in Christ, please explain where you get this idea from. Also please explain it in light of this:

1 Corinthians 6:12 All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

And this:

1 Corinthians 7:5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

It warns against depriving one another, but doesn't state that one has no right.

There are loads of valid reasons to say no, that do not include deprivation. Deprivation is an ongoing condition that has nothing to do with anything valid, its basis is manipulation.

A woman doesnt have to jump to it, just because her husband wants it right then and neither does he for her.

St. Augustine would roll over in his grave if he ever heard that being put to marriage.
All hail Crucible, speaker for the dead.

More seriously, you appear to think that if a husband wants sex and the wife doesn't and she fails to provide it anyway that the husband is entitled to force her to provide it.

Is that a true representation of your belief or not? Or would you hold that one or both have failed their marital obligations but that neither should use force to gain it?

to angel:

1 cor 7:1-5

Which has nothing to do with just saying no for a legitimate reason:

(im sick, on my period, have a yeast infection, a broken leg/arm something, we are at my parents house, someone might see us, etc..

or worse, just caught then using porn, or cheating, or they are drunk, on drugs, have been seriously neglectful in the marriage, hateful, hit them, fighting- etc... (or even separated)

Thats when abstinence for prayer needs to occur.

Any man who wants to force his wife to have sex isnt where they should be in Christ.

How is it lovemaking when both people aren't into it and one is merely an object of gratification?
