Is America great?

I think I am too old for this?

The issue in my time was the racialism in the South. I was never convinced about race as a construct and I thought black people were victimized, yet I never did anything about it. The issue was too daring for me then, and I did not want to be ostracized, and rebuffed by schoolmates.

It was also my full awareness, at the to me many of my peers were adamantly against any 'race' mixing.

Even our water fountains were segregated. The public swimming pools were segregated. the restrooms, the restaurants. Blacks had to enter the town theater by a black outside stairs and buy their ticket from a black ticket man at the top of the stairs; they have to sit in the balcony. There was no mixing at school, even though Brown V. Borad was long sense past. I was a young adult when Governor Wallace stood on the college interference to block black students from attendance.

With the homosexuals, I see no similarity and it seems to me they are taking advantage of what people of color in the US had to long endure. I think homosexuality is a mental illness, and it is all parlor games as to why it was removed as a mental illness. I see no reason for homosexuals to be allowed to marry because now we do not discriminate between different groups based on color.

To me, civil rights was undoing a wrong done long ago, while this applied to homosexuals is undoing a right and making it artificial and blatantly wrong!

I have seen blacks pushed, punched and called names; I heard far worse. They, usually, did not do anything to cause it, they were hated for what they appeared to be.

I would never condone this, and when blacks sat at lunch tables reserved for whites, i see no more than a protest to be given their natural rights. Yet they were beat up, and sometimes killed over this!

Now think about the baker, who only wants to act on his and her beliefs, yet these homos did harm them, and took away there way of life.

If black persons were beaten for sitting at a lunch counter, not wanting more than a meal, why should homosexuals attempt to force others to do their bidding, and when denied to succumb to their demands, these homosexuals ruin their lives. I ask you fairly, is it just, they should be allowed to ruin lives because others believe it wrong to cater to something which is obviously and essentially different and abnormal?

Well said. Those people have a right to what they believe also.

It is well known that the parties have switched sides in regard to supporting civil rights of minorities. Granted I do not agree with much of what the democrats offer in that regard, because they seem to be coddling people too much. And people need to learn the skills required to stand up for themselves.

I think she means the bakers had a right to refuse to make a wedding cake for homosexuals.

I agree, and I also would not mind had the homosexuals had a fit and none of their friends would shop there; this would be reasonable. What is unreasonable is the homosexuals being afforded the extra privilege to destroy the bakers livelihood, this is unbearable to me!

Had the baker tried to harm them, then it would be different, yet I have not heard anything related to the baker doing any harm. yet they were harmed, and financially destroyed.

Something is very wrong with this; I hope the bakers receive some kind of justice.

This one incident has made me think I would never trust a homosexual; and will never allow one. to in any way, enter my life, for fear they may try to harm me, using the law against me.

Democrats still want them enslaved, if only mentally. So...no, guru.

Non sense. You are making that up. That is baseless empty rhetoric, sold to fools like you. Precisely because you are a fool. They seek to empower minorities, but they do it at the expense of others. The only person that can enslave someone, if there is no legislation making people unequal, is the individual in question. Even in that case a person can find a certain level of empowerment and dignity based on the way they deal with a situation.

I agree with the bold part. As I stated earlier I think the suit is frivolous. And I think it is a more of a symbolic move supported by homosexuals harboring a resentment from the past.

So you think all homosexuals would behave this way?

I know many who would have just gone to another baker.

I do not think the plaintiffs will actually be seeking any monetary reward further. I think it was more that they were trying to make a public statement.

And to that I say:

"I know you were hurt, now move one and do the right thing yourself for yourself. Because you cannot always force others to do the right thing."

I think it never wise to allow our fears to stop us from viewing reality rationally.

I think they could, and while it may be argued other minority groups may do the same, I know how to react to this and I know and believe my truth will prevail. With homosexuals I do not know, they may have a stronger and pernicious lobby; I do think they are more prone to hate more than any other marginal group, and unlike most ethnic groups who were obviously wronged, they are, for me more akin to choice outcasts!

You seldom hear anyone sued to that extent by an ethnic group, and if some cases do prevail, I am quite sure the wrong done exceeds not making them a cake, or wrapping flowers, or not allowing them to hold a wedding on your land.

I say this has really soured me; I would never allow them near me, out of concern they represent for me the highest degree of legal trickery, and the lowest degree of moral sense.

They are, for me, the single image in my mind about all that is disturbing about the radical left!

Now ASC said they should be treated as criminals, and all along, I have disagreed, and here is my reason. I do not think the law should be involved either way, on either side, yet now it is, and further, I have said to leave them alone, long before this ruling! It is still my position, I have no intent to obstruct them in any way; however, I do request they let me be, leave me alone, and not pay me no mind, I do not want to know them or anything about them.

This is not the America in which I always took such pride and comfort. We are fast approaching that definition which caused God to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.
That which is good is curtailed or forbidden. That which is abnormal and against nature is celebrated.

Don't rule out that the left wing is playing with our minds.

Any time I see government policies that fly in the face of common sense and self preservation, I automatically suspect trickery and deceit. Examples? The European Union opening all borders and flooding the Christian nations of Europe with Moslems. Oh, there are so many. Just think, "What can they possibly be thinking?" The answer I keep coming back to is that certain elements have gained power and position, and they are using that power to take down the social order.

Yes, to all the world, it is looking like we are inviting the wrath of God. But, think, maybe someone just wants it to look that way.

Essentially this. America is great because it remain's the single greatest government the worlds ever seen. The federalist republic with separated power's outlined in the United State's Constitution is the greatest government ever devised by humanity, and it is a system of government that is just to everybody, and that render's America as the most fertile soil for the Word of God that has ever existed. The Church is free to spread the Gospel of our Lord, and to catechize and evangelize both Christian's and non, with unheard of freedom and detachment from "the sword" (Roman's 13).

I love this place.

No, not at all, people of color did not intrude on those who debased them, they were, in the case of slaves, the victims of powerful African tribes and Portuguese traders who would sell their own mother. Then they were forced into laybour and more than this, they were told they were an inferior race! Not human!

Those who originally lived in the USA were slaughtered and exterminated by disease, those remaining were sent to live where they did not want to live, and they were excluded form the society of their invaders. Then there were the Chinese, who came here to laybour yet the white majority feared them raping their women and forcing them to use opium and become sex slaves, when few Chinese wanted to bother with white people, they became even more suspicious. To a lessor degree the whites, or Anglo Saxons, have been rude and demeaning to Spanish, Latino, French, Creole an anyone who is not like them. If they looks different, or acted different, or worshiped different, they were mistreated and disrespected.

Homosexuals are mainly from privileged groups and they choose to be weird; they do not want to grow up, rather they want perceptual adolescence. They do not want to be fathers and support a family, or be mothers and have to care for children, they rather be the children, always wanting. Then when the greater society tells them they cannot have children, then that cry about it and insist they have a right to them. The same with marriage, no they could not settle for civil unions where they could have had all the same legal rights married persons do, they had to have the marriage institution also.

They are in all ways disgusting self-selected degenerates. They want to be different and have everyone's attention, as if to say, "Look at me, how different I am and there is nothing you can do to stop me!" I hope they all face the final Judgement and then find out at last they will not get away with pushing their ideas on anyone anymore!

On the contrary, it is the most fertile soil of the "modified Word of God" and that is why it is home to more denominations than any other country not to mention it kills it's own children at levels only seen during major wars and corrupts them in public schools where Christian education is not allowed. On top of that the US promotes abortion and homosexual marriage around the world. The US will go down in history as one of the most offending Christian nations ever to exist, due in large part to subordinating the Word of God to man's laws and even worse, changing them. No one has tried to separate the Body of Christ more than Americans, and it shows with easily more than a million denominations counting all the individuals who create their own beliefs.

For those who think somehow every other nations is just as bad as the US, think again. Many real countries prohibit abortion and homosexual marriage and indoctrination and require Christian education in schools. Of course many Americans won't recognize this because they are poor countries who, according to the "Prosperity Gospel" are being "punished" for not being of the correct denomination, whichever one that may be of millions.

I hate that they kill and corrupt their children and worse they are trying to coerce real Christian countries to do the same.

You would have us believe apparently that the US is no worse than any other country and actually even better no doubt but that would only be in the eyes of the world but certainly not the Gospel.
