I just brought this thing down from the attic. I thought it could be used again. I'll have to get my homeschoolers back in here.

(Although they're out of town this week. I miss 'em. :( )

Greetings my fellow homeschoolees. Or should I say former fellow homeschoolers. You see, I am starting college classes this year so I cannot say that I am homeschooled anymore. Bummer. Anywayz, hope no one has beaten any of my old arcade scores, since I have been gone. :thumb:

Hey guys,
Here's the deal. I've got a book report assigned and I have to have a book in a few days. If anyone has any suggestions for some good books feel free to give ideas.

Although this set might not be great for a book report, I really loved them as a kid! http://www.amazon.co.uk/His-Dark-Ma..._fullview_prod_17/202-8317322-8546219?ie=UTF8

This one might be better for a book report. It was neat...

I admitted the other night to not really knowing anything about Malcolm X to my dad. I guess I felt stupid enough to go to the library the next day and get this. Fasinating stuff.

Another interesting book. I couldn't put it down really. Which probably makes me a huge dork.

I realize that I haven't been to TOL in awhile, But I can't believe I completly missed this thread.

You all are cool!

My kids are at bit too young still to be posting here, (oldest will be 9 in October) but this is really neat.

hey! If you dont mind another suggestion:

The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King

this group of books are tough to put down and as a bonus have a strong
Christian correlation throughout them.
I am reading from the Two Towers to my three kids lately.
we finished the Hobit and the Fellowship of the Ring last year and we
couldnt wait to get started again on the other half of the series.

If you have seen the movies, the books are even better bcause of the left images from watching the movies being that you can visualize in a real way the scenes as you read about them.

we love it.

What an old old thread! I actually just got back from staying at Christine and Elaine's! They're both really busy. ^_^ This is where we started as probably some of the best friends I'll ever have! TOL has certainly done a lot. ^_^ Where is everyone now?

Are you as tired of the "sheltered lifestyle" argument as am I? I just told a woman today that I don't "shelter" my kids from life experiences but rather I "orchestrate" those experiences according to the specific child's needs and readiness. Changes the whole attitude around. :D
