What are the differences?

Surely we know that we saints have a new capacity to serve God with righteousness.

If we saints aren't walking according to Gal 5, it requires immediate attention. Porn addiction is acted out by following the old man, the sin nature. If we confess this sin and it never goes away, we must look to the possibility of demonic control. Because we can live as conquerors in the spiritual war we are now in.

If a saint is continually in habitual sin and confession (1JN 1:9) doesn't resolve the problem we (we meaning our daily sanctified lives) are being choked to death by someone other than ourselves.

We can overcome this front of the battlefield by first knowing who we are dealing with and then resisting him - the evil one. If we do this we will be delivered from the addiction.

Give him this verse. It is VERY hard to lust after your mother or sister. The women in these clubs are paid to entertain by being objects. It is commercialization that is done by business to get your money by objectifying women (meaning they allow you to think of them in sexual terms, as objects rather than people).

Because it is an attack on our sex drives, it is big business, but this verse and some of the other advice given in thread, does work: It must be a complete mental change in thinking. If you can love someone, you can combat Satan's arrows of using them self-interestedly. Have him give a bit of money to support women coming out of this occupation. Anything that helps him understand these are persons would help him change his thinking and mindset. This battle is won by treating people as people and loving them. It is every man and woman's battle.

The lie is that I was addicted to lust.

The fact is that man cannot serve God because he has no righteousness and man cannot approach God because God is a consuming eternal fire.

The truth is that we who are in Messiah's Body have been given the very righteousness of Messiah so that we can now approach God and we have a new capacity to serve God with the perfect righteousness of the Messiah. If we sin it is only because we are allowing our will to be controlled by the sin nature. The word says we are crucified and dead to sin and alive to God.

By believing that lie of being addicted to lust I allowed my sinful flesh a title other than what it is which is dead. Paul said that he was still the chief of sinners in present tense meaning while writing scripture, he was chief among sinful men.

But he said it was no longer he who was committing sin but sin that lived in his flesh.

Paul could not have made this statement unless he reckoned to himself the fact of his flesh having been put to death with Messiah on the cross.

Paul could not have made that statement unless he viewed his life as a totally new creation that had the very righteousness of God imputed to him and thus he reckoned himself as a newborn human spirit indwelled by the Messiah and by the Holy Spirit.
