(Heb 1:2 KJV) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Hebrews 1:2 couldn't be clearer.....yet the Darby Followers claim the last days haven't happened yet.

***Except for Hal Lindsay, Tim LaHaye, and a bunch of other crazy Darby Followers over the years (who have all been wrong), who think they can predict Darby's rapture.

In fact, in headlines this week is yet another Darby Follower who claims the world is going to end this Saturday:

Tam, Tam, Tam.

Try reading it a few times.
Tet Tet Tet.

Try reading it a few times.

peace and quietness unto Israel in his days
peace and quietness unto Israel in his days
peace and quietness unto Israel in his days

...."from all his enemies round about"....
Yep.

Notice the enemies still exist. God gave David rest from his enemies. Those enemies attacked Israel in the future.
Future.
Not at the time Solomon was reigning in peace.

Mat 5:5 says they will inherit the earth.

Matt 5 also says they are the salt of the earth. So which one is it? Do they inherit the earth, or are they the salt of the earth?

Until you learn to read things in context, and give up Darby's false teachings, you will always be confused.

When Hebrews was written, it was the last days for Israel, just as Peter referred to at Pentecost when he quoted Joel.
But the unfolding of Joel stopped as Israel rejected her promised Davidic kingdom of Messiah then instead of pouring out His wrath on Israel and the nations which should have followed according to prophecy, He raised up Paul to be the apostle to the nations, as GOD reckoned all humanity in unbelief, so that thru the gospel of grace He might have mercy upon all who believe.

Tet Tet Tet.

You're missing the point tam.

A king can't reign without enemies.

David had enemies in war time, and peace time. The enemies existed, even during peace time.

Christ Jesus reigns UNTIL He gets rid of His enemies. He can't reign without enemies. When the enemies are all gone:

(1 Cor 15:28) When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.

Well Mr. Preterist. tell us what "earth" they are going to inherit in Mat 5:5 and stop avoiding it.

Israel was the salt of the earth but was failing. The believing remnant, who would be meek unto the LORD would inherit the land promised. The Lord would destroy all the rebels.

Ok

But the unfolding of Joel stopped as Israel rejected her promised Davidic kingdom of Messiah

Er, no.

The rejecting of the Messiah was prophesied over, and over again in the OT.

then instead of pouring out His wrath on Israel

Wrong again.

God poured out His wrath on Jerusalem and Judaea from 66AD - 70AD. It was a wrath like never before, and never since.

He raised up Paul to be the apostle to the nations,

He raised up Paul to be a minister of the New Covenant, and a minister to the Gentiles.

as GOD reckoned all humanity in unbelief, so that thru the gospel of grace He might have mercy upon all who believe.

Which is what Paul preached, which is what the New Covenant is.

There is no more physical Israel, Old Covenant, Mosaic Law, etc. It all came to an end for good in 70AD. We now live in the New Covenant, where those who have faith in Christ Jesus are the Israel of God, they are the children of Abraham.

The only way to inherit anything is in Christ Jesus.

(Rom 4:13 KJV) For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Well said.
The preterist view, that we are living in the peace and safety that God promised RIGHT NOW, is a big let down.
I mean, if this is the best it gets ...... I'm not impressed.

First, that is a very poor explanation of the non-futurist view.

Second, anyone who holds the keys of hell and death, who made and upholds all things by the power of His might, who has overcome the world and sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high, is presently reigning in every sense of the word.

Everything has happened according to God's perfect plan; to glorify God and elevate His Son above every name that can be named; not so that you can be impressed.

Be impressed with this; that God is holding off the final curtain until the last possible moment.

'Not yet'? Is that what it says?

I'll have to look at that again!

Yeah man, what it is!

don't see any need to respond because I just wrote about that elsewhere. I worked 10 hours today. I noticed that several of you keep on 2nd guessing, and also not reading the other essay. I guess you collectively don't read more posts than anything else!

I notice that STP has not gone back to #1 about the rebellion that desolates (or parallel) where the answer is stored to his question. He may not read more than the other combined! I don't know what to do with a person who can't write more than about 6 words at a time, all glib, all cliches, quaint, clipped, for comedy. Not qualified to navigate the Bible, for sure.
