I've actually had some trouble with this too, where I'll read right into someone's signature from their post.

Either the line should be more obvious or the default text style for the sigs ought to be different. (Maybe a notch smaller.)

Isn't the answer kind of obvious?

Especially if some new guy comes around and starts sending PM's to members asking them to join him somewhere else.

This isn't just a TOL thing, every well managed website has a similar rule.

Any web forum that doesn't have a similar rule isn't well managed.
