No, it does not matter if a man has signed the birth certificate as any man that just so happens to be in the hospital can sign the birth certificate. I just learned this not that long ago.
The man that signed the birth certificate has to go to court and adopt the child as his own for that child to be considered legitimate and his.
He does not need to marry the woman he had the child with, but he needs to adopt the child for that child to be his and legitimate under the law.
I wonder all the implications for the child.
We live in crazy times.
