Slavery was not about race. It was about man's inhumanity towards man.


I'll state right up front that I don't think Whoopie is racist towards Jews.
But her statement was downright ignorant when she said the holocaust was not about race, it was about man's inhumanity to man.
Then again, she says a lot of ignorant things; so why fuss at her about her ignorant celebrity opinion now?

Decades of democrat dishonesty for political gain, slandering non-democrats as racists have resulted in a mass delusion among leftists that racism is strictly a matter of whites hating blacks. Slavery before it existed in the United States was not exactly about race, since stronger African tribes had long enslaved weaker ones and sold them to the Europeans as slaves, or kept them as their own slaves. Europeans did not start the African slave industry -- they just bought into a market that already existed.

Also, there were black slave owners at various times in early U.S. history.

So yeah, in that sense it wasn't about race.

It has been estimated that as much as 75% of all humans who ever lived were under bondage as slaves at some point in their lives. There are more humans in slavery today around the world than at any other time in human history. Thank God Christian influence prevailed in America to end the practice more than 150 years ago.
