At the time, national health care was not really an imaginable option, but it is now a commonly held responsibility of governments all around the world. And it should also be part of the government's responsibility, here, as well. Just as it defends citizens against threats both foreign and domestic, and just as it responds to natural disasters and disease epidemics. National health care is a direct and primary responsibility, now, for any government charged with protecting the lives of the citizens it's been established to serve. And without life, there is no liberty or opportunity, so protecting the lives of it's citizens is it's paramount responsibility.

It's a shame what one judge has done to confuse everyone about what is to be the law. I hope people and businesses continue to take this issue to court.

The sad thing is this:
What if conscientious Christian believers begin to sell their businesses with the idea of retiring on the cash ... then the only people who will buy the businesses under the conditions imposed by the government will be the a-moral anti-christian people. So evil wins anyway.

In order to win an owner would have to just close the doors and forget his investment ... and forget about the people who will lose their jobs.

Once again the good guys loose. This type of perverted preferential situation is what happens when the government meddles with the freedoms of certain citizens.

Why, are businesses sacred, or something? People aren't free to do whatever they like to other people. So why should businesses be free to do whatever they like to other people?

You are confusing your personal feelings about birth control with health care. Health care practices are not properly determined by personal opinion, but by scientific investigation. Our freedom of choice occurs when we as individuals determine our own health care options and course of action.

As I said, employers should not be providing heath care insurance in the first place. But if they are going to do so, then they are obliged to provide real heath care insurance, and not some collection of half-measures based on their own personal whims.

The government's responsibility is to ensure you an equal opportunity to pursue your own happiness. Like if marrying someone of your own sex, or marrying someone of a different race is what will make you happy, that opportunity should be available to you, as it's available to anyone else. Same with access to an education, or to a job, or to housing, or to commercial products and services.

We are still working to achieve that which the founders sought to achieve when they established this government. Partly that's because we are all still flawed human beings, caught up in greed and bias and ignorance, and partly that's because the times and the circumstances involved in achieving these goals are constantly changing. Like life itself, we are a work in progress. The question is, are you willing to help us progress, or are you trying to inhibit and turn back whatever progress we've made?

The morning after pill is not abortion anyway and used very infrequently.
Does it, or does it not, prevent a zygote from implanting in the event an egg is fertilized the night before?

Why, in your view, is this true for the pursuit of happiness, housing and food, but not health care?


Why do you expect the government to provide health care but not food and housing (and the Donzi necessary for my happiness)?

Right. They do so by executing homos, adulterers, and murderers. When somebody tries to take something from you, or does, the government is to see that justice is done and restitutuion to the vicitim is paid.
