xxx The flesh is your outer person where feelings and emotions live. You have an inner man which is your spirit and soul. So you have an inner man, and an outer person. Your spirit is the mind of your inner man, and your soul is the body of your inner man. Your soul is where your affections come from, sadness, joy, compassion. Your outer person, is where your emotions are. Emotions or passions over take your being with strong feelings that are uncontrollable. when it talks about your flesh most of the time it is talking about your emotions. Your emotions control what you do in the flesh. That is why is tells us to crucify our flesh. Let the Word of God control your flesh. And you will be born again to the Spirit.

But to remove emotion as a whole is to remove the tool which is used to determine significance. Are you not passionate about your Faith? And if you weren't do you really think you would be posting these things so very often. Is obsession not an unhealthy level of passion? I agree that giving in to temptation and urges or addictions is wrong for those seeking the grace of GOD, but emotion doesn't equal temptation. In itself. Like I said it is a tool to ascribe value to experience. We have emotion and intelect for a reason.

As far as I know affection and compassion are types of emotion.

I meant sarcasm on my part friend.

What you lists as affections indeed are too emotions.

Perhaps you could use a different word to signify evil or greedy inclinations as opposed to classing all emotions( including affections) as patently wrong.

This is a simple innocent suggestion to help others to understand your meaning when speaking of those things of the wants of man.

Thank you for the clarification, but I honestly think that some distinction should be made that confusion doesn't ensue. Surely it is your desire to guide towards Christ and not help to scatter the flock.

I'm not asking you to change anything about your revelation. I'm asking that you not allow for confusion of the masses by conflating emotions in general with what is the desire of the fresh. You understand what I'm saying and would appreciate if you at least acknowledge it as opposed to insisting I refute scripture.

More exercises in futility I suppose.

One doesn't have to confine their understanding to the traditional trinitarian understanding in order to be Christian, though the orthodoxy might have one think so.

I'm sorry are you saying this verifies the trinitarian view?

I understand it and do not deny it, but deny that it is the extent or limit of correct perception in regards to the nature of GOD.
