Too bad that the non-sacred and decidedly fallible interpretations of the myriad competing and contradictory man-made non-Catholic sects are NOT sufficient to declare the truth. Nice try, though.

At every turn they cherry pick, pervert, & twist Scripture to try and deceivingly impose their satanic doctrines into Scripture knowing in their minds these demonic doctrines have no authority without the support of inventing Scripture proof.
Thanks for providing an excellent and accurate description of the Protestant sectarian phenomenon.

Roman Catholic teaches Mythology and Fantasy....just a few, you can add to the list....

-Peter was a pope,
-Mary was a queen,
-the wafer is god,
-confession of sins is to a Catholic priest...
-we are to pray to those who have died and might be in heaven,
-prayers for the dead,
-Mary is a new ark,
-Mary is a new eve,*
-cardinals,
-porkatory,
-confirmation,
-the priest represents Jesus...
-nuns
-monks,
-sissified priests
-prayers to angels
-etc......

Back to Posts #2166 and #2174 above. You have nothing.

Come back when you no longer reject the Triune God of the Christian faith in favor of a mere idol of your own imagining. Until then, your decidedly non-Christian opinions will remain just that. In short: the opinions of non-Christians like yourself mean exactly nothing.

So did St. Paul---I guess he was a "sinner" as well, right? You simply misunderstand Jesus' words in Mt. 23:9. Thus, the problem is with you, not with the teachings of the Church. Sorry for your confusion.

False statement. Try again.

Paul did not keep sinning.

Paul beat his body to make it a slave to him.

The GATES of HELL cannot prevail against it is about JESUS.

Jesus went to Hell after he died on the cross and preached the gospel, then he came out of Hell...the gates of Hell could not keep him there!

The Catholic church is not the the church that the scripture speak about---JESUS" BODY IS THE CHURCH.

Be a true apologist now, Cruciform, and prove that your priests have authority, given by Christ, to forgive sin and by acts of penance and indulgence, remit the punishment due to sin.

In the mean time, all others, take a good look at what the RCC Catechism says at #1472 and #1473. If non-Catholics want to enlighten others on the teachings of the RCC, it is necessary to know what it teaches.

Would like to have Cruciform confirm this story and tell us how this is not superstitious at best and spiritually abusive at worst. Pretend I am RC, Cruciform, and tell me how this gets me to heaven.
Nevermind cruciform. He puts so much emphasis on supposed "word of mouth" and "passed on" traditions. Not realizing that his true nature HATES God's Word. He hates protestants too so watch your back

This particular practice, of indulgence, is so spiritually corrupt, that if it is resurrected in the minds of Catholic laity, some may actually go insane trying to work their way to heaven and get time off in purgatory.

I want to witness him standing on the practice, as based on the words of Christ, which is the proof given in the Catechism.

I know what you mean about Tradition. It one of the reasons the teaching authority of the RCC and her apologists, hate the Five Solas of the Reformation.

P.S. Can you find a picture of the poorest of people, crawling up Church steps to pay for an indulgence?

Unfortunately, your church preaches false doctrine, a false gospel, and in no way represents the "TRUE" church of God in this "Dispensation of Grace."

Thanks for directing us to take a look at what the actual Church actually teaches, rather than all the misinformed malicious straw men that some here like to spout forth as if they know anything at all beyond their own disturbed imaginations.
Spoiler
The punishments of sin

1472 To understand this doctrine and practice of the Church (indulgences), it is necessary to understand that sin has a double consequence. Grave sin deprives us of communion with God and therefore makes us incapable of eternal life, the privation of which is called the "eternal punishment" of sin. On the other hand every sin, even venial, entails an unhealthy attachment to creatures, which must be purified either here on earth, or after death in the state called Purgatory. This purification frees one from what is called the "temporal punishment" of sin. These two punishments must not be conceived of as a kind of vengeance inflicted by God from without, but as following from the very nature of sin. A conversion which proceeds from a fervent charity can attain the complete purification of the sinner in such a way that no punishment would remain.

1473 The forgiveness of sin and restoration of communion with God entail the remission of the eternal punishment of sin, but temporal punishment of sin remains. While patiently bearing sufferings and trials of all kinds and, when the day comes, serenely facing death, the Christian must strive to accept this temporal punishment of sin as a grace. He should strive by works of mercy and charity, as well as by prayer and the various practices of penance, to put off completely the "old man" and to put on the "new man."
As is shown, understanding indulgences requires a better understanding of sin itself, which many, not just here, could use a good primer on. Thanks again for providing a segue into this topic, so that we can all understand better the great depth of spiritual understanding that the Church possesses, and shares with everybody freely.

Best regards.

What a pile of poop and a continual denial of Christs work on the cross.
