Should a Christian drink alcoholic drinks?

In and of itself it is not a sin. However, there may be mitigating factors in one's life or just the present circumstances that make it wrong, even if not a sin.

If it causes no one to stumble, offends no one and makes no one weak what then?

All things in moderation.

How then do we know that no one is stumbles or sin,

Err on the side of caution and holiness and just don't do it.

James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, 8 being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Pray about it and wait for the Lord for an answer.

Now I am in local assembly they say it's a sin to drink alcohol, now I am with them eventhough I have this knowledge I cannot drink because of church not Bible, or drinking privately in this case is right or wrong?

You need to obey those pastors, elders and deacons who have rule over you. If your assembly deems it sin to drink then obey them. As long as they believe they are obeying scripture then they are doing this for the good of the assembly. Romans 13 applies to ALL who are in authority and includes your church authorities.

Are you looking for an excuse to drink?

Psalm 119:9 How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
10 With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
11 Your word I have treasured in my heart,
That I may not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord;
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have told of
All the ordinances of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts
And regard Your ways.
16 I shall delight in Your statutes;
I shall not forget Your word.

Had a big problem pointing out directly that drinking is a sin as many say, I suspended questions on this topic because I don't have grounds from scriptures.

I have so many watching me, that I couldn't even have a sip of alcohol. I used to love going out and socialising and drinking, and when I left life behind, I used to still get offered drink all the time. Even offered it by the bottle not just by the glass! Many around me still live that life, and I have to be careful what i do. Because i know that if I took so much as one sip of alcohol it would be "well i saw you drinking" or "you had a glass" and they would use that little bit that I drank to condone their actions. So I don't have any at all.

Anyway, I have another wine, that comes from another vine, from a fruit that is produced by God. and this wine is sweeter than any natural wine and gives me a bigger lift than anything alcoholic can. It fills my heart with an overwhelming love and peace and warms me throughout my whole body.

And it's the word of God that comes through the vine of Christ and brings fruit to his branches and it's water is as wine to those who love him, and it lifts the hearts of all who love to hear it!

Hi sirayuk

I'm not sure what you mean? Can you explain what you mean a bit more please :)
Now I have people who drink even as born again I cannot just tell them to stop since they don't really understand what l teach, do u think I should let them be or how do u think I should approach them, having known that the Bible doesn't directly prevent it.

I believe that we have to do everything with freewill, God wants us to be a living sacrifice and that we must sacrifice our lives through free will not to have to force us to do so.

As I said I've given drink up because I believe it's right to do so before God, I had a conscience so I've stopped, also if I did have any at all then those around me would think that because I've had one, it's ok for them to drink so I don't do it. It doesn't say in the Bible not to drink, but it does say that we shouldn't get drunk and that we should be sober.

We're not here to judge others but to bring the love of God and Christ to them and be an example ourselves following Jesus. But if the situation arose where somebody questioned me as to why I don't drink, (and this has happened), or if I saw someone who belonged to God in danger of slipping, I'd open my mouth and also try and help them.

I don't know your situation, and I can't say what you should do, go with your conscience and do what you think is right before God. But I always think to myself of what I was like before I truly knew God and I didn't realise that what I was doing was wrong. But it's now that I do know that I have no excuses. To me for myself it's wrong to drink, but that is something on the outside, there are more important things that have to be done on the inside of our hearts, and eventually the outside will follow. We are all sinning, we are in sinful flesh none of us are better than another, I just believe that when I know it's wrong to do something I'm to turn away. And I teach my children and grandchildren that too. We have a choice and we have freewill. God wants us to choose him and his will not our own.

So if your unsure about what to do in your situation, go to God and ask him to show you, he's a wonderful father and I always think, what would Jesus do. He went among anyone but he brought the truth and he didn't do what they did but lived it out by example.

If i have a problem with something that I find hard to overcome I go to God. I'm going through something now and i know that nothing will work but prayer and fasting.

We all have things that we have to face and obstacles that we come across, but if our faith is strong then God will get us through. Go to him, and go with your conscience and what ever you do, do it with love not judging after the flesh and think what would Jesus do. That's what I would do anyway.

I hope that you get your answers

God bless

Why would they not? What is to worldy of a Christian to make a difference?
Did Jesus not drink wine?

I believe, based on exegesis on the topic, that drinking in moderation is not only okay but it can also me a valuable ministry tool. That culture needs Jesus as bad as anyone, for a Christian to enter this culture to share Christ is valuable.

This all needs to be prefaced by saying that one must be careful, not to stumble or cause a brother or sister to stumble. Those with predisposition to alcohol may want to abstain.
