Praise the Lord!

The planting of the LORD.
Isaiah 61:3

But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it,
who indeed bears fruit and produces.

Matthew 13:23

:poly:

Only Once You Pass This Way

Do your best while life’s pilgrim way you tread,
Scatt’ring sunshine while you may;
Bear in mind, while the precious seed you spread,
Only once you pass this way.

Ev’ry day poor and needy you will find,
Filled with sorrow and dismay;
Do your best some poor, broken hearts to bind,
Only once you pass this way.

Tell the world that the Savior died for all,
Bid them ever watch and pray;
Lift your voice, shout aloud the Gospel call,
Only once you pass this way.

Be a brave, earnest soldier in the strife,
Then when comes the close of day,
May the world be the better for your life,
Only once you pass this way.

Only once you pass this way,
Yes, only once you pass this way;
Be a blessing while you may,
Remember, only once you pass this way.

Sunday Morning Praise

In the Secret Place of God

He that dwelleth in the secret place of God, Most High,
When the days of biting bitterness and travail draweth nigh,
With the crimsoned lintel over and the sheltering solace sure,
Doth abide beneath the shadow of Omnipotence, secure.

He a fortress is and refuge unto all who trust;
From the fowler’s snare and pestilence He ransometh the just;
His truth is shield and buckler, so the potent promise rings,
And there’s rest, delight and safety ’neath the cover of His wings.

He that said it: “I will answer him who calls on Me;
Will honor and deliver him; from trouble set him free;
Because his love is on Me still, My name to glorify,
I will save and satisfy him, and will give him life on high.”

Art thou dwelling in this hiding, underneath the sprinkled blood?
Is thy soul, by grace abiding “In the secret place of God?”
There is fullness there, and sweetness, all thy pow’rs find full employ,
Gladness, comforting, completeness, peace, and everlasting joy.

To whom will you flee for help?
Isaiah 10:3

:poly:

Lord, To Thee Alone We Turn

Lord, to Thee alone we turn, to Thy cross for safety fly;
There, as penitents, to learn how to live and how to die.
Sinful on our knees we fall, hear us, as for help we plead;
Hear us when on Thee we call, aid us in our time of need.

In the midst of sin and strife, in the depths of mortal woe,
Teach us, Lord, to live a life meet for sojourners below.
Though the road be oft times dark, though the feet in weakness stray,
Lead us, Savior as the ark led Thy chosen on their way.

Weak and weary and alone when the vale of death we tread,
Then be all Thy mercy shown, then be all Thy love displayed;
Guard us in that darksome hour, lead us to the land of rest,
Where, secure from Satan’s power, we may lie upon Thy breast.

:BRAVO:

Praise the Lord!

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith;
as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:17

While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:18

For we walk by faith, not by sight.
2 Corinthians 5:7

:poly:

My Faith Looks Up to Thee

My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary, Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away,
O let me this I pray to be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart, my zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee,
Pure warm, and changeless be, a living fire!

While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread, be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day, wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside.

When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold sullen stream over me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love, fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above, a ransomed soul!

Zechariah 13:1

John 1:16

:poly:

Fountain of Grace

Fountain of grace, rich, full and free,
What need I, that is not in Thee?
Full pardon, strength to meet the day,
And peace which none can take away.

Doth dismay fill my heart with fear,
’Tis sweet to know that Thou art near;
Am I with dread of justice tried,
’Tis sweet to know that Christ hath died.

In life, Thy promises of aid
Forbid my heart to be afraid;
In death, peace gently veils the eyes;
Christ rose, and I shall surely rise.

He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
Isaiah 40:29

He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

The Soul Cheering Promise

We know not the trials before us, but Jesus takes thought for them all,
And trusting the aid of His counsel, we never, no, never can fall;
We know not the trials before us, or what on the morrow may be,
But sweet is the soul cheering promise, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

We know not the trials before us, but why; should we tremble or fear?
The arm of the Lord will protect us, the ark of His mercy is near;
We know not the trials before us, or what our temptations may be,
But stronger than death is the promise, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

We know not the trials before us, the sorrows and cares we shall meet,
But O there’s a refuge in Jesus, though surges may break at our feet;
How blessed that refuge forever where safe from the storm we shall be,
The password to life is the promise, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

Then cleave to the Savior, yes, cleave to Him, whatever the conflict may be,
Remember the soul cheering promise, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”

O LORD my God, in You I put my trust.
Psalm 7:1
My times are in Your hand.
Psalm 31:15

:poly:

Father, I Know That All My Life

Father, I know that all my life is portioned out for me,
And the changes that are sure to come I do not fear to see;
But I ask Thee for a present mind intent on pleasing Thee.
I ask Thee for a thoughtful love, through constant watching wise,
To meet the glad with joyful smiles, and to wipe the weeping eyes;
And a heart at leisure from itself, to soothe and sympathize.

I would not have the restless will that hurries to and fro,
Seeking for some great thing to do or secret thing to know;
I would be treated as a child, and guided where I go.
Wherever in the world I am, in whatsoe’er estate,
I have a fellowship with hearts to keep and cultivate;
And a work of lowly love to do for the Lord on whom I wait.

So I ask Thee for daily strength, to none that ask denied,
And a mind to blend with outward life while keeping at Thy side;
Content to fill a little space, if Thou be glorified.
And if some things I do not ask In my cup of blessing be,
I would have my spirit filled the more with grateful love to Thee,
More careful, not to serve Thee much, but to please Thee perfectly.

There are briers besetting every path that call for patient care;
There is a cross in every lot, and an earnest need for prayer;
But a lowly heart that leans on Thee is happy anywhere.
In a service which Thy will appoints there are no bonds for me;
For my inmost heart is taught the truth that makes Thy children free.
And a life of self renouncing love is a life of liberty.

O LORD my God, in You I put my trust.
Psalm 7:1

Therefore we do not lose heart….the inward man is being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16

:poly:

Day by Day

Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He Whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Every day, the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He Whose Name is Counselor and Pow’r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then in every tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
Through the LORD'S mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:21-23

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
2 Corinthians 9:15

:poly:

Oh, How Great is Thy Compassion

Oh, how great is Thy compassion,
Faithful Father, God of grace,
That with all our fallen race
And in our deep degradation
Thou wast merciful that we
Might be saved eternally!

Thy great love for this hath striven
That we may from sin be free
And forever live with Thee;
Yea, Thy Son Himself hath given
In His grace an earnest call
To His Supper unto all.

And for this our soul’s salvation
Voucheth Thy good Spirit, Lord,
In Thy sacraments and Word.
He imparteth consolation,
Granteth us the gift of faith
That we fear nor hell nor death.

Lord, Thy mercy will not leave me
Truth doth evermore abide
Then in Thee will I confide.
Since Thy Word cannot deceive me,
My salvation is to me
Well assured eternally.

I will praise Thy great compassion,
Faithful Father, God of grace,
That with all our fallen race
And in our deep degradation
Thou wast merciful that we
Might bring endless praise to Thee.

Praise the Lord!

“The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
Lamentations 3:24

:poly:

My Heart is Resting, O My God

My heart is resting, O my God I will give thanks and sing;
My heart is at the secret source of every precious thing.
Now the frail vessel Thou hast made no hand but Thine shall fill
For the waters of the Earth have failed, and I am thirsty still.
I thirst for springs of heavenly life, and here all day they rise
I seek the treasure of Thy love, and close at hand it lies.
And a new song is in my mouth to long loved music set
Glory to Thee for all the grace I have not tasted yet.

Glory to Thee for strength withheld, for want and weakness known
And the fear that sends me to Thy breast for what is most my own.
I have a heritage of joy that yet I must not see;
But the hand that bled to make it mine is keeping it for me.
Sometimes I long for promised bliss, but it will not come too late
And the songs of patient spirits rise from the place wherein I wait;
While in the faith that makes no haste my soul has time to see
A kneeling host of Thy redeemed, in fellowship with me.

But the yearning thought is mingled now with the thankful song I sing;
For Thy people know the secret source of every precious thing.
The heart that ministers for Thee in Thy own work will rest;
And the subject spirit of a child can serve Thy children best.
My heart is resting, O my God, my heart is in Thy care
I hear the voice of joy and health resounding everywhere.
“Thou art my portion,” saith my soul, ten thousand voices say,
And the music of their glad Amen, will never die away.

Psalm 62 Song By Aaron Keyes with Lyrics - Praise Song (My Soul Finds Rest In

Psalm 62

My Soul Waits for God Alone

To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

62 For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
2 He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

3 How long will all of you attack a man
to batter him,
like a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
4 They only plan to thrust him down from his high position.
They take pleasure in falsehood.
They bless with their mouths,
but inwardly they curse. Selah

5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence,
for my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
7 On God rests my salvation and my glory;
my mighty rock, my refuge is God.

8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

9 Those of low estate are but a breath;
those of high estate are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
they are together lighter than a breath.
10 Put no trust in extortion;
set no vain hopes on robbery;
if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

11 Once God has spoken;
twice have I heard this:
that power belongs to God,
12 and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love.
For you will render to a man
according to his work.

“I, the LORD…will hold your hand; I will keep You.”
Isaiah 42:6

Thy Hand Upholdeth Me

I know Thy hand upholdeth me,
My Savior and my God;
And step by step I’ll follow Thee
Where’er Thy feet have trod.

I know Thy hand upholdeth me,
When doubt and danger near
Would tempt me from the narrow way,
Or fill my heart with fear.

I know Thy hand upholdeth me,
And will in safety keep
My trusting heart, though I may pass
Through waters dark and deep.

I know Thy hand upholdeth me,
And will my soul defend;
Sufficient is Thy grace, O Lord,
To keep me to the end.

I know in whom I have believed,
And, knowing, I am blest;
Thou art the anchor of my soul
In Thee my hope shall rest.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:8

Malachi 3:6

Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand

Time is filled with swift transition
Naught of earth unmoved can stand
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

Trust in Him who will not leave you,
Whatsoever years may bring,
If by earthly friends forsaken,
Still more closely to Him cling.

When your journey is completed,
If to God you have been true,
Fair and bright the home in glory,
Your enraptured soul will view.

Hold to God’s unchanging hand!
Yes! Hold to God’s unchanging hand!
Build your hopes on things eternal,
Hold to God’s unchanging hand.

Praise the Lord!

You shall make a window for the ark.
Genesis 6:16

:poly:

The Upper Window

When God spoke unto Noah, and told him to build the ark,
The Lord knew well the vessel would cheerless be and dark,
So God said, Build a window, with outlook toward the sky,
That when it’s dark and lonesome, you’ll see Me standing by.

It may be that affliction will rack and rend your frame,
Until your mortal body is seared with fevered flame;
But do not be discouraged, just lift your tear-dimmed eye,
And through the upper window, you’ll see Me standing by.

Perhaps you’ll suffer losses, like houses, lands, and gold,
And you will feel you’re homeless, and penniless, and old;
But sweetest peace and comfort will lift your painful sigh,
When through the upper window, you’ll see Me standing by.

It may be that bereavement will take a loved one dear,
A soul that brought you gladness, real happiness and cheer;
But it will cheer your sad heart, when loved ones from you fly,
When through the upper window, you’ll see Me standing by.

The storms will come, but fear not, oh, children, I am nigh,
And through the upper window, you’ll see Me standing by.
Yes storms will come, but fear not, my, child, I am nigh,
It's through the upper window, you’ll see Me standing by.

It Is Well With My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

My sin — oh, the bliss of this glorious thought —
My sin — not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh trump of the angel! Oh voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
“Even so” — it is well with my soul.

It is well, with my soul, with my soul,
Yes, it is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul,
Yes, it is well, well with my sou.

Sunday Morning Praise

Praise to the Living God!

Praise to the living God!
All praised be His name,
Who was, and is, and is to be,
And still the same!
The one eternal God,
Ere aught that now appears;
The first, the last: beyond all thought
His timeless years!

His Spirit floweth free,
High surging where it will;
In prophet’s word He spoke of old;
He speaketh still.
Established is His law,
And changeless it shall stand,
Deep writ upon the human heart,
On sea or land.

He hath eternal life
Implanted in the soul;
His love shall be our strength and stay,
While ages roll.
Praise to the living God!
All praised be His name,
Who was, and is, and is to be,
And still the same.

Psalm 134:1

Night’s Shadows Falling

Night’s shadows falling men to rest are calling;
Rest we, possessing heav’nly peace and blessing:
This we implore Thee, falling down before Thee,
Great King of Glory!

O Savior, hear us! Son of God, be near us!
Thine angels send us; let Thy love attend us:
He nothing feareth, whom Thy presence cheereth,
Light his path cleareth.

Be near, relieving all who now are grieving;
Thy visitation be our consolation:
O hear the sighing of the faint and dying;
Lord, hear our crying!

Thou ever livest; endless life Thou givest;
Thou watch art keeping o’er Thy faithful sleeping;
In Thy clear shining they are now reclining,
All care resigning.

O Lord of Glory, praise we and adore Thee
Thee for us given, our true Rest from Heaven!
Rest, peace, and blessing, we are now possessing,
Thy name confessing.

Praise the Lord!

For what is your life?
It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

James 4:14

LORD, make me to know my end,
And what is the measure of my days,
That I may know how frail I am.

Psalm 39:4

So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

:poly:

Teach Me the Measure of My Days

Teach me the measure of my days,
Thou Maker of my frame;
I would survey life’s narrow space,
And learn how frail I am.
A span is all that we can boast,
An inch or two of time;
Man is but vanity and dust
In all his flower and prime.

See the vain race of mortals move
Like shadows o’er the plain;
They rage and strive, desire and love,
But all the noise is vain.
Some walk in honor’s gaudy show,
Some dig for golden ore;
They toil for heirs, they know not who,
And straight are seen no more.

What should I wish or wait for, then,
From creatures earth and dust?
They make our expectations vain,
And disappoint our trust.
Now I forbid my carnal hope,
My fond desires recall;
I give my mortal interest up,
And make my God my all.

I Know Not What the Future Hath

I know not what the future hath
Of marvel or surprise,
Assured alone that life and death
God’s mercy underlies.

And if my heart and flesh are weak
To bear an untried pain,
The bruised reed He will not break,
But strengthen and sustain.

No offering of my own I have,
Nor works my faith to prove;
I can but give the gifts He gave,
And plead His love for love.

And so beside the silent sea
I wait the muffled oar;
No harm from Him can come to me
On ocean or on shore.

I know not where His islands lift
Their fronded palms in air;
I only know I cannot drift
Beyond His love and care.

Trust In The Lord

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
This is God’s gracious command;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
So shall you dwell in the land.

Trust in the Lord who ruleth all,
Seeeth all things as they are,
Be it a birdling in its nest,
Or yonder uttermost star.

Trust in the Lord and peaceful be,
Fret not thy spirit in vain,
What though the answer tarries long,
Still shalt thou praise Him again.

Trust in the Lord His eye will guide
All thro’ your pathway ahead,
He hath redeemed and He will keep,
Trust Him and be not afraid.

Trust in the Lord, O troubled soul,
Rest in the arms of His care;
Whatever your lot, it mattereth not,
