My fantasy. And a question for liberals

Why? What if I want to read the Qu'ran for purposes of being better at evangelizing to Muslims?

I'm for enforcing BOTH tables of the law including laws suppressing open idolatry, preaching of heresy no matter what the kind, blue laws for sunday, and blasphemy laws. But I don't see ANY Biblical basis for treating Islam differently than any other false religion, nor that there is no legitimate reason to read a Qu'ran. Nor any basis for prohibiting private worship of any religion including Islam.

You do realize that you just contradicted yourself don't you Jr.?

But if proselytization for Muslims can be banned, it can be banned for Orthodox Jews, Hindus, Satanists, Buddhists, and Atheists as well. To deny the enforcement of the first table of the law (like every "theonomist" does on this site except for me) except in the case of Islam is either pragmatism, bigotry, or both.

Yet somehow, you have convinced yourself that your way is different than those others who wish to deny freedom and persecute everyone except their own ...

Yeah. I think I slightly disagree with you on which ones are which though. Biblically I think that blasphemy, public false worship, homosexuality, adultery, and spreading heresy count as crimes and not just sins.

You mean COUNTED as crimes. This is not Israel. We are not the chosen ones. This is not the Holy Land.

No, there's a difference between private false worship and blasphemy. Blasphemy is deliberately disrespecting the one true God (regardless of whether you believe in him or not. ) I realize there's a sense in which worshipping a false god should qualify as this but Biblically its a different issue.

Yeah, I'm for persecuting Bob Enyart as well, since he won't submit himself to the Christian sign of baptism, he shouldn't be allowed to be a citizen. Don't know if Jefferson is a MADist either but if he is I'm also for denying him (or anyone else who refuses baptism) citizenship.

And Jefferson and Bob are weak on the first table. So yeah, I'm not "different" in the way you're talking about. I'm worse in your mind.

Question for liberals: Wouldn't that be wonderful?

such a scenario would never work for liberals, they would need the children of conservatives to replace all the children they aborted to support their cradle to the grave socialist programs. we have already seen this population implosion play out in japan and other liberal countries, where the younger generation that has survived the holocausts of abortion and aggressive contraception use are being burdened with an ever increasing debt of elderly entitlements. So no this scenario would not be wonderful for the long term survival of liberalism.

The left would starve to death without the tax revenues from the right to support all their 'programs'
starving to death from excessive taxes would be the least of their concerns, where are they going to find enough people to man the farms after they aborted them all.

Because large populations never ever suffer from shortages of food.:chew:

When you say "private" do you mean someone hiding in their basement by themselves where no one else can see them praying to whichever god they choose to pray to, or can private also mean a church congregation?

So that we're on the same page:

Blasphemy:

great disrespect shown to God or to something holy

: something said or done that is disrespectful to God or to something holy

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/blasphemy

Would it not be "blasphemous" for Muslims to openly deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was resurrected on the third day?

My question is:

How is it possible to have blasphemy laws while allowing other religions to voice their doctrine that "disrespects" the deity of Jesus Christ the Son of God/God in the flesh?

food shortages are almost always a result of some type of disruption of the supply chain or an inadequate proportion of laborers, like one would see with a demographic of that constitutes a majority of elderly persons after they abort their children. How is a country supposed to survive without children let alone grow a robust economy?

imo, the liberal west would become almost entirely dependent on the conservative east for laborers, students, fossil fuels after their global warming alternatives prove to be useless, national defense, and religious freedom after the secular humanists ban religious expression in the public square. I also want to add loans as well to fund their ever increasing debt form socialist programs

Yeah, I mean like in the home. Their churches shouldn't be allowed to exist. But I don't think the government should be checking every time lots of people get together at a house to see whether its a religious gathering :p

I see what you're getting at but I think there's a difference between disagreement and disrespect.

There's a difference between saying "you know, I really don't believe in the virgin birth or in Christ's resurrection" and saying "Christ was a bastard and his mother was a whore" (the latter line, I think was in some Orthodox Jews writings.)

I think the former could be expressed but the latter would be punishable even if it was an atheist or other non-Christian who did it. However, someone who professed to be Christian but openly denied the resurrection or the virgin birth would be punishable even if he didn't blaspheme.

I hope that helps. I'm sure you could throw some gray areas at me that I'd have a harder time dealing with, and ultimately Christian judges will have to make decisions. But I think there's a difference between sincere unbelief (not necessarily punishable) and blasphemy (always punishable.)

Actually, in your case (being that you are so young), I am hoping you grow out of this ...

Don't worry, I've already thought this stuff through more than you're capable of.

Every last one of them.

This begs the question: where do liberals come from?

When young they're tempted seduced and suckered by grown up libs, see? It's the only way "they" breed.

P.S. Yes, I'm deliberately baiting acw with this post. He's on ignore, so you guys'll just have to tell me how long it takes for him to pounce on this.
