No.

Paul was explaining how the saved person still tries to please God in the flesh until he forsakes that idea and lays his new life down,
That is nonsense. We have to please God in our flesh. There is nothing wrong with pleasing God in our flesh.

instead of thinking he has been given new life to do with it as he pleases.

Abraham had to be willing to sacrifice his new life to God AFTER he had received it. (Isaac)

(You would know about it if you have done so.)

Abraham had to believe and obey. He sacrificed Isaac because that was a test of his faith.

The law of Romans 7 is not the law covenant , but the law of the first creation.

LA

Paul speaks of the old law in Romans 7.

It is definitely a believer. The unbeliever is quite happy in his sin. The believer is conflicted, and must serve in the Spirit (willingly, compelled) not the way of the letter (forced, mechanically).

There is a thread on Rom 7 that lists all the items in the 6-7 segment that show that it is a believer.

It is a complete acceptance of a belief and teaching from men in error that you believe about Paul and Romans 7.

Paul had the Holy Spirit living inside him, but in Romans 7 he speaks about nothing good living in the one under the law. When Paul had the Holy Spirit living inside him---is that something good or nothing good?!!!

Paul said he cannot do any good that he wants to, but he beats his body to make it a slave. So could he or not do something good after he was saved?!!!

People here are slandering Paul and do not realize what they are doing.

He could do good through the Spirit. Thus the conflict (the spirit wars against the flesh). If he tried to do the same thing in the flesh, it was a mess. Obviously the person pictured is a believer.

You are losing focus on the exact topic of is there anything good that lives in Paul and could he do only that which he does not want to do.

Paul was speaking about someone under the law without faith.

Don't you know there were Jews who were cut off and hardened when Jesus walked the earth?

Those were the faithless.

It didn't take faith to be part of the old covenant, but it takes faith to be a part of the new covenant.

Those under the old covenant who did not have faith could not do good.

You should study this harder.

That is nonsense. We have to please God in our flesh. There is nothing wrong with pleasing God in our flesh.

Rom 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Rom 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

They that are in the flesh are about the people who live to please their flesh.

Not everyone only lives to please their flesh.

We are flesh and spirit.

Some people are more spiritual than others and want something more in this life than only pleasing their flesh.

Job 32:8 But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.

Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Hebrews 12:9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live!

Zechariah 12:1 A prophecy: The word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the human spirit within a person, declares:

Malachi 2:15 Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.

Our spirit can live to only please the flesh and that is wrong,

Romans 8:8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.

Romans 7:5 For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death.
or it can live to please Jesus and that is how we are transformed to be spiritual, like Christ."

Galatians 6:8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

Or it can live to please Jesus and that is how we are transformed to be spiritual, like Christ.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2 Corinthians 2:18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

As one can see from the scriptures that those who live only according to the flesh---they cannot please God, but NOT EVERYONE is only trying to live according to the flesh!

Those who are not only living according to the flesh...they are the ones who seek God and find God.

Romans 8:5 Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.

What we see here with Lazy Afternoon and Interplanner's beliefs is that they fell for the false teachings of Luther and Calvin, which probably stemmed from the false teachings of Augustine and Aquinas.

Let us examine the scriptures, God's Truth, with the help of the Spirit, and not with the help of men who were still entrapped in falseness.

Living to please our flesh is not the same thing as pleasing God in our flesh.

Those who live to please their flesh, they commit sexual immoralities. They might also steal and lie to for the desires of their flesh, and even carry out violence, murder, and false witnessing.

Those who offer their flesh to God to please Him, they stay sexually moral, and they use their body for keeping busy doing good not bad.

LA,

All you are doing is showing you have no understanding on this.

Those who live to please their flesh, they commit sexual immoralities. They might also steal and lie for the desires of their flesh, and even carry out violence, murder, and false witnessing.

Those who offer their flesh to God to please Him, they stay sexually moral, and they use their body for keeping busy doing good not bad.
