The people who set up this exhibition are no less despicable than pornographers, but like pornographers, they serve an important function. Their offensiveness, unless it involves children or intentionally incites violence, does no harm, and it keeps the First Amendment alive. Freedom to do only what everyone likes isn't freedom at all.

I'm a little dismayed that Connie drank the ISIS Kool-aid by promoting the idea that ISIS was behind the two fools who attacked the show. ISIS is hurting from the beating we're giving them, and they desperately want to convince Americans that they can strike back. Connie just joined that effort.

Stupidity works for them.

Seems stupidity is working real well for you as well, ISIS has not been beaten back one wit from the pathetic effort this administration is putting forth, in fact their presence in the world & growing alliance in this country is quite evident. If this was not so every military base would not have raised the FPCON (Force Protection Condition) to "Bravo" (not done since 911) which is just shy of full blown installation lockdown when the FPCON is raised to "Charlie" level. Now, being the government sees the threat as credible enough for raising awareness, it is not a stretch to say Pamela Geller was not drinking any such kool-aid but, recognizing the threat that is staring us in the face, and liberals are too politically correct to admit. Ignoring the threat won't make it go away...

Defense Secretary Carter used the word 'Metastasizing' in reference to the ISIS threat, I guess he is just drinking Kool-aid as well....or maybe stupidity is working for him too. :plain:

They were in no way connected with ISIS beyond perhaps being "inspired" by their propaganda....But I wish we were wrong. These two were undisciplined, ignorant, morons...And I mean that quite literally. Would that all "terrorists" and mass shooters were just like them. :plain:

How do you know this Tom? I mean if any nutter is willing to drive 1000 miles to murder in the name of anything, I think that we should consider that propaganda to be quite effective, and how many more "isolated" nutters are there out there that are inspired by the propaganda of this group (ISIS) before we recognize this trend as an imminent threat and not just an isolated incident?

Come on barbarian, you know that if there was a huge pornography exhibit in Texas you not only would have defended it, you most likely would have been there (in the name of "free speech" of course).

Their offensiveness, unless it involves children or intentionally incites violence, does no harm, and it keeps the First Amendment alive. Freedom to do only what everyone likes isn't freedom at all.

It was only a matter of time before the barbarian came running to the defense of his beloved muzzies.

You never let us down when it comes to your defense of anything that HATES Judeo-Christian doctrine babs.

My initial thoughts were that it was those darned Jehovah's Witnesses, but then I realized that they don't worship the pedophile false prophet Muhammad, so I put two and two together to figure out that it was your beloved muzzies behind the attack.

To draw a distinction; I think they would be more akin to people who burn the flag or "artists" like Robert Mapplethorp.

Leave it to good ole Libertarian TomO to compare mocking the pedophile false prophet Muhammad with drawings like this

to putting a replica of Jesus Christ in a glass of urine (which God-hating homosexual Robert Mapplethorp did).

C'mon...a thousand miles? This isn't 1850...or even 1950 for that matter. I drive farther than that for a week vacation. As I pointed out....I hope you're right. :plain:...And to say something is a result of propaganda is not the same as saying that it's an "isolated" incident. I consider this as "isolated" as Ft Hood.

From the photos of the scene thus far it appears that the body armor that they bought was...Shall we say, somewhat less than level IIIA. Some of the photos taken show their body armor lying on the pavement soaked with blood in the chest area with what appears to be a rather prominent hole.

If this is the case either they bought low level protection or they bought old used stuff....Either way; morons. :idunno:

Well, let's take a look...

Two purported ISIS fighters interviewed for a news agency working in ISIS-held territory have given the same reason for the militants' retreat from the Syrian city of Kobani: the constant pummeling by coalition airstrikes.

But the reason behind their withdrawal from the city, he said, "is that we no longer had places to hold there. We were inside Ayn Al-Islam and we occupied more than 70%, but the airstrikes did not leave any building standing, they destroyed everything."

His horror of the airstrikes was apparent.

"I swear by God, their planes did not leave the air, day and night; they did airstrikes all day and night. They targeted everything. They even attacked motorcycles; they have not left a building standing. But by God willing we will return and we will have our revenge multiplied."

http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/31/middleeast/isis-fighting/

You didn't get the memo? They are no longer claiming that the bombing hasn't hurt them severely.

There are at least three major causes of ISIS's recent defeats. Each gives us reason to believe that ISIS may only become more vulnerable as time goes on.

First, while American airstrikes are not going to defeat ISIS, they have seriously limited the group's ability to conduct offensive operations. "Airpower has made it difficult for ISIS to concentrate its forces in large numbers," Jason Lyall, a political scientist at Yale University and an expert on counterinsurgency, writes via email. "It has made it more dangerous to reposition its equipment and forces, slowing down its reaction times and complicating its command and control. As a result, ISIS is a far more dispersed force than it was in June."

The harder it is for ISIS to fight in the open, the harder it is for it to put together troop-intensive drives to conquer territory. If ISIS can't expand, it can only preserve what it has or retract.

in fact their presence in the world & growing alliance in this country is quite evident.

Two idiots who were promptly gunned down by a police officer, even though they were armed with machine guns?

As TomO said, we should wish that those guys were from ISIS.

BTW, we haven't been letting up on ISIS:

June 16/2015 (CNN)U.S. Special Operations forces killed a key ISIS commander during a daring raid intended to capture him in eastern Syria overnight Friday to Saturday, U.S. government officials said.

The ISIS commander, Abu Sayyaf, was killed after he fought capture in the raid at al-Omar, U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said in a statement. Sayyaf's wife, an Iraqi named Umm Sayyaf, was caught and is being held in Iraq.

Carter said he had ordered the raid at the direction of President Barack Obama. All the U.S. troops involved returned safely.

National Security Council spokeswoman Bernadette Meehan said Obama had authorized the raid "upon the unanimous recommendation of his national security team" and as soon as the United States was confident all the pieces were in place for the operation to succeed.

"Abu Sayyaf was a senior ISIL leader who, among other things, had a senior role in overseeing ISIL's illicit oil and gas operations -- a key source of revenue that enables the terrorist organization to carry out their brutal tactics and oppress thousands of innocent civilians," she said in a statement.

"He was also involved with the group's military operations."

http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/16/middleeast/syria-isis-us-raid/

Bomb their forces, kill or capture their leaders. On the plus side from their POV, some guys who were maybe inspired by ISIS shot a cop in the ankle before they were both blown away by a swat team.

And Connie is terrified.

What else is new?

Weird. Typo on the news site, I guess. It happened Friday/Saturday. The strike team came in by helicopter from Iraq into Syria, took him out, rescued one young woman apparently being used by him as a slave, and captured his wife.
