The Calvinists teach that the elect are regenerated or given life PRIOR to believing. however, we can see in the following verse that life comes as a result of faith and not PRIOR to believing:
We also know that it is not until the sinner is in union with Christ is he made alive and that does not happen until one's transgressions areforgiven:
Before a person can be made alive together with Christ and have their sins forgiven they must first believe:
So we can see two different verses from the Bible which demonstrates that regeneration does not precede faith, as the Calvinists teach.
" And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name" (Jn.20:30-31).
We also know that it is not until the sinner is in union with Christ is he made alive and that does not happen until one's transgressions areforgiven:
"When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions" (Col.2:13).
Before a person can be made alive together with Christ and have their sins forgiven they must first believe:
" Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins" (Acts 10:43).
So we can see two different verses from the Bible which demonstrates that regeneration does not precede faith, as the Calvinists teach.
