I am fairly well educated former Pastor who has left the Christian faith and hold a more agnostic worldview than anything else. In NO way am I meaning to antagonize or rob anyone out of their faith. This is not my purpose in joining. I am not argumentative but will challenge your thinking and I am not afraid to push back on intellectual arguments.

As long as others play nice with me an engage me in a spirit of respect, I will of course oblige them in return. Because we disagree does not mean we must be disagreeable.

Now, what shall we discuss?

(1) What led you to leave the Christian faith?

(2) Did you ever wonder why Paul preached a gospel that was kept hidden since the world began whereas the 12 taught that which was prophesied?

(3) Have you ever been "angry at God" because He "let" bad things happen?

(4) Do you (or did you) believe that God has absolute foreknowledge or do you (did you) believe that the future was open?

Welcome. :wave2:

What led you away from Christianity and to agnosticism?

Perhaps we should discuss your ego, since you needed to introduce yourself as "well educated" and proceeded to assure us of how you've arrived to challenge and educate us

Apparently you've abandoned all of your pastoral qualities, including that of being humble.

I am a fairly uneducated former atheist and I would be willing to bet that you know very little if anything about the Christian faith.

By the way, his "objective statement" needs work. It's incomplete.

Christopher Paul Gergen is the visionary of Renewed Living International. He is a veteran of the United States Navy, serving a five year tour during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has served as assistant pastor in two congregations and organized the leadership teams for both ministries.

Not seeing how that meshes with the above resume.

And the MySpace page? Tells another version. :chuckle:

Wait...I'm a financial guy so I happened to catch the Ed Jones part.

You failed the 7 but still claim it as education and experience on your resume? :squint:

I can't imagine how you must think that'd be of help to you... :idunno:

Good luck with this.

It will be a pleasure having someone fairly well educated here. I hope that you really are. There are far too many ignorant people here who think they know everything.

Oh- watch out for the disagreeable here too. Plenty of that. Perhaps it correlates with ignorance.
