"Senators fended off changes to the immigration bill in committee on Tuesday, but the first cracks emerged in the carefully crafted compromise between business groups and labor unions, leaving even some supporters frustrated at the defensive votes they had to cast.

The second day of voting in the Senate Judiciary Committee underscored the fragile nature of the immigration compromise — but also the power of the “Gang of Eight,” the bipartisan group that drafted the compromise and has defended it against changes from the right and left..." Everyone knew amnesty was Rubio's issue. He's not conservative at all. Personally I'm not really a conservative, but I know what a real conservative looks like, and its people like Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Justin Amash. Its not people like Rubio, McCain, or Graham.

At least, if "Conservative" has anything to do with freedom, or even what it meant back before Eisenhower.

Personally, I don't really care much about the immigration issue itself, my only concern is the inevitable expansion of the welfare state. Ultimately, however, entitlements is the real problem with that and nobody will touch it so I'm just waiting for the country to burn. Stopping amnesty really won't help that. So this isn't really my issue with Rubio. His insane neocon "America is a battlefield" foreign policy is my biggest issue with Rubio.

Of course you don't, as the "free movement of labor" (i.e. open borders) is a Libertarian principle.

Never mind the problems that come with a multicultural society that doesn't embrace traditional American values.

What you say about immigration is not always the case. Not all libertarians support open borders. I don't support 100% open borders although I'm closer to that than I am to the status quo.

The problems with "Multiculturalism" only exist in democracy where a majority thinks they can impose their vision on other people. Which is what you support just as much as it is what the liberal immigrant supports.

We need a philosophy of freedom, but that requires getting people like you out of the Republican Party...

the whole immigration / amnesty debacle. It is amazing watching these politicians gang of 8, just lie openly to the American public.
2006 was supposed to have marked the beginning of the border fence? No fence, and yet today they tell us 'this time' the fence will be built.
Rubio - finished.
Ted Cruz - rising star.

John Conyers:
Representative John Conyers (D-Mich.) was speaking at a hearing on immigration policy held by the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday when he expressed his hope that “no one” in his company would use the term “illegal immigrant.”

“I hope no one uses the term ‘illegal immigrants’ here today. Our citizens are not–” he said, breaking off to correct himself. “Our, the people in this country are not illegal. They are out of status. They are new Americans that are immigrants, and I think that we can forge a path to citizenship that will be able to pass muster.”

This is the same Conyers who said you can't read a 1000 or 2000 page bill in time to vote on it.

[MSM rules: MSM rules: Reporting criminal's citizenship status=political agenda. Downplaying/ignoring illegal alien status= realjournalism Michelle Mulkin] "When the Associated Press announced it was dropping the term “illegal immigrant” from its stylebook, the world’s largest news-gathering outlet did offer reporters “acceptable variations,” such as “living in a country without legal permission.” The Washington Post might have settled on its own variation, which is leaving illegal immigration status out of its reporting entirely.

Washington Post reporter Justin Jouvenal is live-tweeting the murder trial of Julio Miguel Blanco Garcia, a day laborer who is charged in the brutal stabbing death of 19-year-old Vanessa Pham. Blanco Garcia has pleaded not guilty, and his defense attorney says his client, who was planning to steal TVs from a store, was hallucinating from having smoked several PCP-laced cigarettes. It was “a perfect storm of tragedy,” see?" Full text: MSM rules: MSM rules: Reporting criminal's citizenship status=political agenda. Downplaying/ignoring illegal alien status=realjournalism
