RSR: Now, Every (Comet) Scientist Works for Walt Brown!

This is the show from Friday January 20th, 2015

Summary:

* Another Confirmed Prediction from Creationist Walt Brown: Regarding the confirmation of yet another astounding science prediction, Bob Enyart interviews Dr. Walt Brown, author of the hydroplate theory explanation of the global flood and the many resulting broken features of our Earth and solar system. The European Space Agency has just released high-resolution images of Comet 67P along with the assessment of their scientists that they may have found unexpectedly large rounded boulders (up to 10-feet in diameter) that may be the comet's building blocks! This interview presents this latest discovery which, though it has shocked so many secular astronomers, has confirmed Walt Brown's specific prediction, published 13 years ago in the 7th Edition of his book In the Beginning, about the composition of comets.

* RSR Volunteer Needed: RSR needs a transcript of the JPG image of John Buchanan's 1905 Letter to the Editor that's over at www.rsr.org/john-buchanan. If you will do this for us, please then email your transcript to Bob@rsr.org. Thank you! -The RSR Crew

The ratio of deuterium to hydrogen in the water from the comet was determined to be three times that found for terrestrial water. This makes it unlikely that water found on Earth came from comets such as Churyumov–Gerasimenko.

None of the water on Earth came from comets.

Heavy Hydrogen. Water molecules (H2O) have two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. A hydrogen atom contains one proton in its nucleus. On Earth, about one out of 6,400 hydrogen nuclei has, besides its proton, a neutron, making that hydrogen —called heavy hydrogen, or deuterium — twice as heavy as normal hydrogen.
Surprisingly, in most comets, one out of 3,200 hydrogen atoms is heavy — twice that in water on Earth. Therefore, comets did not deliver most of Earth’s water, as many writers have speculated. In comets, the ratio of heavy hydrogen to normal hydrogen is 20–100 times greater than in interstellar space and the solar system as a whole. Evidently, comets came from an isolated reservoir rich in heavy hydrogen. Many efforts by comet experts to deal with this problem are simply unscientific guesswork. No known process will greatly increase or decrease the heavy hydrogen concentration in comets.

The solid, core structure of a comet is known as the nucleus. Cometary nuclei are composed of an amalgamation of rock, dust, water ice, and frozen gases such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, and ammonia.[12] As such, they are popularly described as "dirty snowballs" after Fred Whipple's model. However, some comets may have a higher dust content, leading them to be called "icy dirtballs"

Carl Sagan came up with the term "dirty snowball" to describe what he called a mix of ice, dust, and rocks.
That was a long time ago. Granted, Sagan was probably the most advanced planetary scientist of his time, but clearly, this fact was accepted, long before anyone took pictures of rocks on a comet.

It would be interesting to see what Walt said about it, and when, but I'm guessing we're not going to see that.

The European Space Agency has just released high-resolution images of Comet 67P along with the assessment of their scientists that they may have found unexpectedly large rounded boulders that may be the comet's building blocks ... which ... has confirmed Walt Brown's specific prediction, published 13 years ago in the 7th Edition of his book In the Beginning, about the composition of comets.

You can trust the evolutionists to avoid this discussion like the plague.

I guess we can chalk my post up as another confirmed prediction from a creationist. :chuckle:

(Barbarian suggests that creationists show where Walt predicted rocks on comets before Carl Sagan did in the 1970s)

Predictions are the currency of science.

Thirteen years ago, it was predicted that most of the rocks (pebble-sized and larger) comprising asteroids and comets will be found to be rounded to some degree. This rounding was predicted based on the Hydropate theory, in which the rocks tumbled and were eroded in the fountains of the great deep.

With the first close-up images of a comet becoming available only recently and showing what have been dubbed "dinosaur eggs," rounded rocks of 1m to 3m in diameter, this is what we call a successful prediction.

Which is why the evolutionists are desperate to avoid the topic, or talk about something, anything, else.

No documentation? Looks like another Walt tumbleweed, rolling by. Walt is the guru of post-hoc "predictions."

All the rock we've seen in space has been rounded to some degree. Walt took another known fact, and "predicted" it.

In another description of his view on the concept of God, Sagan emphatically writes:

The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying ... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity.[66]

It's taken a while, Barbie, but I'm gradually getting a much clearer picture of your God.
