Hi to all , and many believers says that there is a Church before Paul preached about the EKKLESIA called the Body of Christ .

Many believe that there is only One EKKLESIA and do not know what EKKLESIA really means ??

EK means Out of !!

KLESIA means a calling !!

EKKLESIA means Assembly and CHURCH is a bad translation , and you will not find Assembly under church in VINE'S , but will have to go to the word Assembly .

All will see what STRONG'S #1577 says , it is Congregation !!

What happened to this Jewish CHURCH/EKKLESIA/ASSEMBLY which is an Assembly and not Church !!

Acts 2:47 lets us all know what happened to them !!

We , that from the CONTEXT of Acts 2:38 , Peter is preaching , verse 16 , that what all are seeing from the Book of Joel 2:28 .

Verse 47 reads , " praising God and having favor with the whole people . And the Lord was ADDING to the EKKLESIA/ASSEMBLY daily the ones being SAVED !!

The Greek word for ADDED or ADDING /PROSTITHEMI is in the Greek IMPERFECT TENSE .\

The Imperfect tense , means CONTINUOUS ACTION in Past time and stopped ,

This EKKLESIA /ASSEMBLY did not last beyond Acts 28:28 and from what we see in Acts 15 , Peter has just been PHASED-OUT and we do not see Peter after that !!

This means that , this Messiannic Assembly and Israel was set aside and a new Age began , called the Dispensation of the Grace of God , a NEW EKKLESIA /ASSEMBLY of believers !

After Rom 11:25 , " when the Fulness of the Gentiles become in " , will begin the 7 years Tribulation and at the End of the Great Tribulation , there will be a New Assembly , EKKLESIA of Jewish believers !

There are 855 Imperfect tenses from Matthew----Revelation !!

To help clarify this discussion I would like to point out that Strong's word for church in this passage is not 1577 but 846 as posted here:

NT:846

NT:846
<START GREEK>au)to/$
<END GREEK> autos (ow-tos'); from the particle au [perhaps akin to the base of NT:109 through the idea of a baffling wind] (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative NT:1438) of the third person and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:

KJV - her, it (-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, ([self-], the) same, ([him-, my-, thyself, [your-] selves, she, that, their (-s), them ([-selves]), there [-at, -by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with], they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which. Compare NT:848.

(Biblesoft's New Exhaustive Strong's Numbers and Concordance with Expanded Greek-Hebrew Dictionary. Copyright © 1994, 2003, 2006 Biblesoft, Inc. and International Bible Translators, Inc.)

Only the KJV translates this to the term Church, all other translations I have, eight in all, translate this to the concept of adding to the number of individuals. Example: Acts 2:47 "praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved."
(NASB)

In the end, the New Testament church was, according to Paul, a mystery of God which was explained to us as "Christ in you". (Col 1:24-28) For Christ to be in us we must have the permanent indwelling of the H.S., which came to us in Acts 2. Thus, the body of Christ or the N.T. Church is all based on Christ's sacrifice and the H.S. coming to seal us until the day of redemption. (2Cor. 1:22, Eph. 1:13, 4:30) When did that all that happen? When Christ was raised from the dead and the H.S. came for permanent indwelling on the day of Pentecost just as Jesus promised. John 14.

The age of grace began on the day of Pentecost at about the third hour of the day. Acts 2:15

The gift they received was the gift of the Holy Spirit which Peter refers to regarding the household of Cornelius receiving salvation. Acts 10,

Acts 11:17 KJV "like gift"

The early believers were growing in their understanding of what God had brought to pass by the works of Jesus Christ.

It took years before the truths were clear and complete enough for all Paul's epistles to be written.

The Acts 2 church is Israel and her proseltytes. They stand to inherit conditional earthly kingdom.

The Body of Christ is its members

The Church of God is its Name.

1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

----------------------

Acts 2:47 The Church of God kept growing and spreading and being Persecuted

as it is today and will be till the end because the Powers of this world HATE IT !

Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Hi , OMEGA , but in Gal 1:13 , Paul says that " I persecuted the EKKLESIA /ASSEMBLY of God ".

Are you saying that there are 2 bodies of Christ , ONE in Gal 1:13 and the other in Acts 2:47 ??

Where both are called the " Church of God " ??

The Acts 2:47 RKKLESIA has been suspended as the Greek word "ADDED " is in the IMPERFECT TENSES which means , CONTINUOUS ACTION in time PAST !!

Read Luke 13:6-9 and see when ISRAEL was Suspended and who did Israel in ??

The CONTEXT of Acts 2 is all Jewish , can you SEE ??

Do you realize you posted scripture that refutes your statements?

Hi , and will OMEGA answer ??

There is a big difference between EKKLESIA/ ASSEMBLY and the Greek words for BODY OF CHRIST , SOMA CHRISTOS !!

All in the EKKLESIA , the Body of Christ , is a New Man " in Christ " , so is that EKKLESIA in Acts 2:47 , " in Christ " ??

Well, this is what happened to them, and why.

Romans 11:11

I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

Hi , and all Acts2 and covenant theology has no answer AS to WHY there are 2 EKKLESIA'S /ASSEMBLIES , ONE Jewish and ONE Jewish and Gentile , without getting into why 2 Gospels ??

He said he wanted to debate me , so maybe he is checking , why " ADDED or ADDING " is in the imperfect tense ?? MAYBE ??
