Conservatism comes with maturity and the acceptance of personal responsibility.
Liberalism is the ideology of the childlike mind: Gimme stuff for free, you're a meanie, its all the other guys fault, please take care of me and give me an allowance, etc. Unfortunately the parent in the Liberal world is an authoritarian government that controls you the same why a parent controls a child.

When Savage first said Liberalism is a mental disorder it was funny. Who knew it would have turned out to be so true.

Tying that in with the OP, I guess is would be a mental disorder that makes a person never become mature.

Well, I'm moderate on the political spectrum with a live and let live attitude and for some people that somehow equates to being a fan of Marxism which I'm not. There's so many soundbites regarding politics that stem from all sides and none of them are particularly accurate or helpful. They're usually just meant to demean anyone who doesn't have the same or similar political persuasion. There are certain elements of the far right that exhibit many of the "attributes" described in the OP quote but it certainly doesn't reflect conservatism in general. I might well disagree with conservatives more often than not but I've had respect for a fair few.

Its funny, but it is also deadly serious, and it poisons everything from the very fabric and discourse in our nation, down to small forums lie this

Is that bias on my part? I think not, and here is why:

Therefore, real discourse is absolutely impossible. When one side just lies, there is no discussion. There is no discourse.

That has repercussions, even in this forum. Some good threads here end up at a dead end member of the Left just lie and derail. Discussion ends up being squashed and destroyed.

A thread like this deserves to be pinned, because this topic, like a few others, is timeless. The Godless socialist mind of Marxism and Socialism and Leftism will always be a danger and must always be in the forefront of all we do every day.

The following survey proves my point - the immature leftist believes that only his viewpoint has merit. While the more mature conservative understands that people's viewpoints and beliefs evolve, that they start out immature but become mature with experience. In this the leftist is the child, the conservative is the grown up.
