It is encouraging that someone like oswald chambers spends time praying to and communing with the Heavenly Father so much so that It is evident in even one paragraph of his writings.
Then spends the time to write practical methods and tell testimonies of his prayer time and understanding of scripture.

A lot of time praying, communing and writing just to encourage those that follow.

Revelation 12:11King James Version (KJV)

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

revelation 8:4 Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand. 5Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

God shows throughout scripture how important the prayers of the saints are as we co labor with Christ.

1 cor 3:9 For we are God's co-workers. You are God's farmland and God's building.

The adventure Has just begun for us. The latter days of our lives will be greater than the former if we walk with Christ.

My mother was a fan of his works

IMO the problem with anyone stressing us to become better persons is not addressing the solution to the problem having missed the mark themselves of Christ being formed in them. Persons like OC teach that the Holy Spirit was given to us to teach us how to act when the bible clearly teaches the Spirit of man cannot even fathom the things that Christ in us will do naturally (should the Christian be taught the truth that will allow Christ to be formed in them)

The mark to be achieved is the fulness of Christ in us who will naturally do today what Christ did on earth 2000 years ago. Meanwhile, the spirit of man can never do what only the Holy Spirit and the Word of God working together will do, and bring forth the mind of Christ.

The best that the spirit of man can do is the "good" from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that will only last as long as it continues to serve Satan through fooling the person into believing their life is being run by Christ when Satan is the one pulling their strings.

Only knowledge of the truth of the foundational doctrines of Christ can bring forth Christ in us. (He.6:1-2 KJV) Christians believing in any part of the church being physically taken off of the earth along with persons who never heard of Jesus sentenced to burning forever while they sing hymns in heaven are clueless to the truth

Perhaps you should read him before commenting without knowledge. Start with "Abandoned to God", his biography. It's a good read.

I agree that the (soul) cannot produce anything of eternal value.
But the spirit of a man is the field that God plants and grows the fruits of the Spirit, for an eternal reaping and sowing principle.

Also we impact each other by The Life and the Love Christ is growing in us individually.

We initially experience Christ through His yielded vessels preaching to and loving us with His Love.

ephesians 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the [m]saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

It is the intent of the Spirit to strengthen our inner man/spirit so that

we can (comprehend) that word is defined as experience.
The love of God so fully that we are trustworthy In Christ to be filled with (all) the fullness of God.

maybe we are splitting hairs on definitions not sure. but to summarize
yes our (soul) is not able to fathom God
But our born again spirit was birthed for that very purpose of being strengthened to do so.

You can read his works-based sinlessness salvation heresy. He was in the Holiness Movement and would have led many souls into the pit. He actively worked to spread Wesley's emphasis on perfectionism and I can see how popular works based salvation is due to the many praises this heretic is receiving from the vessels of wrath.

You have never read him, therefore, you see/understand nothing about him.

I was hiking in the mountains of North Wales a few years ago in the company of a shepherdess. I began talking about the different grasses and the lack of sheep on some of the hills. She then surprised me by saying that sheep won't eat any old grass and that they stray into the most dangerous places in pursuit of the choicest grasses. ''He maketh me to lay down in pastures green''.

Later that day while hiking alone I came across a herd of goats on a ridge and I'd been informed that goats will eat anything.

You being a goat will feed on any rubbish you can find, but we sheep are made to lie down in green pastures.

Here's some rubbish for you to feed on from the trough of Chambers:

"The experience of salvation means that in your actual life things are really altered, you no longer look at things as you used to; your desires are new, old things have lost their power. If you still hanker after the old things, it is absurd to talk about being born from above"

"In the Bible it is never--should a Christian sin? The Bible puts it emphatically--a Christian must not sin. The effective work of the new birth life in us is that we do not commit sin, not merely that we have the power not to sin, but that we have stopped sinning"

God does not give us overcoming life; He gives us life as we overcome. When the inspiration of God comes, and He says, "Arise from the dead," we have to get up; God does not lift us up.

Beautiful truth's, all.

Post some more so everyone who hasn't sampled him can read his insightful understanding from the scriptures. Thank you.

Hello, Word Based Mystic

I understand the theory within the theology you speak........ however we were not given the Spirit that is Christ in us to teach us but to become us after Adam in us dies the death he has already been sentenced to.

To explain this in more detail,

All spirits are neither holy or good and this includes the spirit of man (Adam in us)

Each spirit has its own soul that is essentially the mind along with its knowledge, will, and emotions. The spirit of man brings forth the mind of man while on the other hand the Spirit of God will begat the mind of Christ providing the person it resides in learns the truth.

The spirit of man is an earthly spirit, and because of sin in it, it is an unclean spirit. However, the Spirit of God is from heaven and because it is without any sin, and is from above, it is a Holy Spirit.

Spirit is male and the soul is female albeit in the original languages the spirit of God is deity that is not labeled male or female although God is Father and Jesus is obviously male. Because spirit is male and the soul is female, the soul comes from the spirit, and is the reason David addressed his soul in feminine terms such as "darling".

God is a Spirit with a soul the same as man is a spirit with a soul, therefore, man was created in the image of God. However, the spirit in man is an earthly unclean spirit (because of sin living in it) that is why Adam is sentenced to death.

Adam got his start with a spirit coming from the breath of God, but because of sin Adam became unclean, and along with Eve they were both sentenced to death.

The spirit of man in persons before the Cross is Adam who has its own soul who is Eve. When the Spirit that is the seed of Christ comes into us, Adam in us gets the boot from the heart. Unfortunately what happens next is played out in the parable of the unclean spirit (Matt.12:43-45 & Luke 11:24-26 KJV)who when after it gets the boot from the heart of man goes no further than the flesh of man made from the dry places that is the dust of the earth where it teams up with the unclean soul of man and together return to the heart leaving the person worse off than they were before first coming to Christ. (remember when Adam and Eve became one flesh?)

The Spirit that comes into persons from the Cross and the Blessings of Pentecost is the Holy Spirit of God who comes to us in the name of Jesus. If the person has been taught the truth, Adam aka the spirit of man technically died at the Cross leaving Eve still in our flesh who is the soul of man aka the mind of man. (simply put)

A person worshipping in spirit and in truth will follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and not pay attention to the soul of man......... if this were the case then what you are saying about the relationship between the spirit and soul would be true albeit Eve is still under a sentence of death. (for those who have ears that hear may see the prophecy yet to unfold in the story recorded in Acts 5:1-10 KJV

Unfortunately, as many who think they are worshipping in spirit and in truth is matched by almost identical number consisting of those who are not worshipping in truth!

Regrettably, rather than Christ being resurrected in Christians (that is what the untold truth of the hope of "our resurrection" is) after they have been crucified with Him, (when Adam in us was supposed to have died) through the truth being heard coming from the Word of God that would cause it to mature from a simple seed that is Christ into a fruit bearing tree of life in the expressed image of whom the seed (life) came from in the Blood of Christ sprinkled upon the temple of our hearts; the unclean spirit of man is allowed to return all because the truth has not been taught to the church since the falling away that started with the death of the last apostle.

The spirit of man can never produce the soul and mind of God that is the balance held in reserve for the earnest (means partial payment) of the Holy Spirit already given us....... aka the salvation of our soul

In short and in Cliff Note form........ the same as the Holy Spirit had to come from heaven, so must the mind of Christ within the soul of God come to us from heaven

1Pet.1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Blessings to you,

Doug

Pardon me, but, may I ask what books are in your library that have persuaded you in your religious thinking? Who are the authors?

Only one book that is the KJV, albeit I do use lexicons as well as the 1828 Webster

Unlike you I am taught from God. On the other hand you having been taught through the traditions of man think as a man instead of a son of God

If I thought you stood even a remote chance of understanding what I had written I would have included your username in my opening line

So, as I suspected, you are a "lone ranger" __ "Just me and my god, whoever he is because of what ideas I have constructed in my imagination", so you say. Yeah, that is about the way I understand you by your efforts to explain yourself.. Thank you.

No, there are a few others

Not many but all it takes is the prayers of someone righteous to be watched over by God

So when I needed a miracle having been told I had lung cancer at the end of last year........ did I ask some pastor to pray for me, or did I post it here and ask you to pray for me?

No, I did not!

Instead I called a man that teaches what is in my book because I knew God would listen to His prayer because this man worships God in truth the same as I do. Therefore, and just maybe He would grant me life instead of death?

That was about 5 hours before my lungs were to be declared to be free of any cancer despite earlier x-rays taken in the weeks before of both lungs that said otherwise.

This is the way the prayers for the sick are supposed to work, and will work when the person doing the praying does not have a heart full of false doctrines like you do.

Not that God does not have mercy on whom He choses but because of What His Word teaches

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
