This is from 9 years ago but it's still hilarious. My favorite is this poor woman struggling to get her thoughts out at 4:19

But the American Constitution is Jesus's.

Jesus said, you can't do anything greater than love God, and love all your neighbours as you love yourself. We are asked to love and pray for our enemies. How does that work when you carry a gun?

I mean it takes less than a complete thought to answer that question in a wide variety of valid ways, which makes me wonder about you as a person. Frankly.

Paul Harrell on mass shootings

In the introductions, Paul said he would talk about possible solutions at the end of his video. About two minutes from the end, he said, I don’t know what the solutions could be. I am so pleased I did not watch the first hour and twenty minutes, he was possibly more in love with his guns than his wife.

I have been a Volunteer Street Pastor since 2008, we wonder the streets of our town until 3 – 4am on a Saturday morning. Our role is to care, listen and to help when we can. We come into contact with many wonderful people, deeply troubled souls and violence. We are members of different churches, in partnership with the police and council. We don't do self defence, we carry no protection, other than a waterproof coat. many of our volunteers are in their 70's and 80's.

The idea of Street Pastors originated in Jamaica about twenty years ago. A friend of a church minister was shot and killed by a gang of youths. After the funeral, the minister and some of the congregation got together to pray for these gangs. Unarmed Christians reached out to these gangs of youths who were carrying guns, living in poverty and on drugs. They asked, what can we do to help you. Christian love started to make a difference, and they noticed change happening.

Les Issacs took this idea back to London, and there are now about fifteen thousand volunteers, mostly in the UK.

I see this as a Christian response to violence.

I don't remember Him saying that one couldn't do anything greater...

We are asked to love and pray for our enemies.

Indeed.

How does that work when you carry a gun?

If my enemy is about to kill someone in front of me, and I have a gun in my hand, I'm going to point the gun at him and shoot him dead.

That is what love is. Love of the victim, AND love of the murderer.

And I pray that as he's dying he seriously considers "getting right with God" and asking for forgiveness for his actions.

In Luke 22:36 Jesus said to His disciples, "...he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
Luke 22: 38 The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.”

“That’s enough!” he replied.

Jesus said, two swords are enough between all his disciples, so he didn’t want an armed militia. When Peter used the sword, Jesus healed the man’s ear and told Peter to put his sword away. It seems that one sword was too many.

Why didn't Jesus tell his disciples to dispose of all their swords?

That's what Peter did, he took his sword out to protect Jesus.

Jesus practiced what he preached. There were opportunities in his ministry for Jesus to carry a sword for his defence, but he never did. When it came time to use a sword in his defence, he said, put the sword away. Jesus showed us the greater good path, whilst on the cross, he prayed Father forgive them. The disciples witnessed the ordeal Jesus went through. They had a first hand understanding of what swords and forgiveness meant to Jesus. Would they ever carry a sword again, and use it in their defence?

Swords, like divorce are allowed, but they are not the greatest good option.
