What do you understand Peter to mean when he says Christ went in the spirit world to preach the gospel to those who perished before the flood....?

It will be a great day when you start to actually read the bible.

1. Peter.3.18-21
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but quickened by the Spirit. By which He also went and preached unto the spirits in prison. which were sometime disobedient when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah while the ark was preparing.

God is our refuge and our strength :)

In very early transcripts of the NT [pre St Jerome] in the parable of the wise and foolish virgins it says the cry went up at midnight "Behold the Bridegroom cometh and His bride" now we know who the bride is, the church of all the ages...so then who are the wise virgins who gain admittance to the feast?

When St Jerome espied the bride it threw him into a quandary somewhat for he had identified the wise virgins as the church, he knew well that there could not be 2 churches i.e. the bride and the wise virgins.

So he simply omitted the bride.

The parable still works on a level but it is not a true representation of the last judgement. Now Jerome omitted the bride from his translation and all translators follow him but the brie is still there, made conspicuous by her omission.

The church cannot be both the bride AND the bridal attendants.

Believing in the Millennial reign, that the saints will reign with Christ in heaven and on earth during 1, 000 years when He returns must change what you believe about the Last Judgement. The last judgement takes place AFTER the Rapture [so shall we ever be with the Lord] and after we have reigned with Him for a thousand years.

There is therefore no way that the church figures in the last judgement.

Paul teaches that in the twinking of an eye we shall all be changed, again he teaches that when the Lord appears the dead in Christ rise first then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the clouds. So shall we ever be with the Lord.

These teachings show beyond a doubt that the church is passed over from the last judgement.

Israel was the elect people of God, Egypt was not

People think when God hardened Pharoah's heart He hardened all Egypt, this is not so a very great many Egyptians held Moses and Aaron in high esteem and were careful to heed Mose's warnings and so saved their crops and their livestock.

We see also how that the mid wives feared God and disobeyed Pharoah and it went well with them. And when time came for Israel to depart their Egyptian neighbours provisioned them and even gave them much gold and silver.

God has so set human society that He can hold the leaders, the powers that be, in greater responsibility than He holds the general mass of people.
