He reconciled the world with the death of his son, and the world was offered his son's life with the resurrection.

20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.” (1 Cor. 15: 20– 27a)

The first Adam brought death. The new Adam, Jesus Christ, the Christus Victor, brought resurrection from the dead, triumphant not only over the devil but over death itself. All who are in Christ are raised so that we participate in the triumph over death. This is why we join together each new sabbath day, The Lord's Day, for worship because He is risen.

As Peter testified, death had no claim over Jesus Christ:

Acts 2:24:
whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

Sin's punishment is death, but our Lord was sinless. Yes, He took all our sin via imputation on the cross, being filled with sin, but this sin was not His own sin. This inherent sinlessness denied any authority to death to lay claim upon Him. We might better say that it was impossible that Christ not be raised from the dead.

In Romans 4:25 we read:

Christ was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

Our Lord lived and died for our justification. Our Lord was raised for our justification. Justification rests solely on the work of Christ--His life, His death, His resurrection. Our Lord's resurrection stands as evidence that the wrath of God for our sins has been propitiated because of the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Romans 5:18
Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

His resurrection gives hope. It is evidence for anyone who wants to know.
