Mt 5:48

That psg commands (does not suggest, but commands) that we be perfect

so... If you are not perfect (according to Protestant theology) at the time of death, you are TOAST

aka going to Hell

i say Protestant theology b/c they don't believe in Purgatory..

Well, this psg makes you believe in it.. b/c it's a sure bet you will NOT

die as a perfect human

Actually this passage makes me wish I had a Savior that died for my sins so that I would be made perfect in Him. Oh. Wait. God has provided!

To me the idea of purgatory seems to imply that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross for us was not enough. I believe Jesus' Blood cleansed all believers sins. Therefore, no more is needed.

Yep (Mt 5:48). That's the standard (1 Cor. 13:10–12). We need Christ's perfection (Heb. 10:14). He offers the sinner his righteousness (2 Cor. 5:20, 21).

See:

No Purgatory

Yes (Ge 22:13). It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Heb 9:27). No pit stop in Purgatory (2 Co 5:8).
