A TRIBUTE TO MY MOM

This is a tribute to my Mom.

My Mom was an example to me of faith, but too late, only in the sense that, I did not have, to my regret, the understanding and maturity, to appreciate her faith, while she was alive.

I do not think she had been exposed, during her lifetime, to the teaching that would have allowed her to understand the Bible in the way that I have been graced with, but I sorely miss, that I had not been able to discuss, fully and comprehensibly, the Bible with her. This lack on her part, did not affect her salvation however, she relied on the redemption of her Saviour, and mine, Christ Jesus.

I pray, that in the heavenly places, we can spend eternity talking of the grace and wisdom of our Lord.

Did your mom pass recently? Did she have a particular belief and go to any church? Where did you learn your beliefs from, any favorite teacher?

Peace to you and you mom.

Hey GT
No,,,not recent, I am old,I was just thinking of her
She went to a Bible church and her faith influenced me for sure
My beliefs stem from a couple of sources, here are the sites

By the way, we have had a lot of discussion, but always respectful, and you have benefited me by it.

Thank you so much for that and likewise to you.
I too think about how it would have been to speak to my mom about my beliefs now, since out of five kids I was the only one who discussed things with her about God. She died when I was only 24, and she just turned 56 when she passed. So lot's of time to think about her and miss her.

I can tell you this: Death does not separate members of the Body of Christ. The Communion of Saints! Your mom can hear you now.

Sorry that you lost her, and so young. Comforting to know she is alive in Christ and one day will be gathered with her.

Thank God you can;t since all you spread is hate and lies.

I do no such thing.

She was Catholic and she used to tell us kids be careful, don't hold the statues hands or touch them like they are real.

She was Catholic but must have sensed that something was wrong with the way Catholics treated statues.

I remember as a child asking my mom when we go in the confessional box and we say the prayer 'bless me father for I have sinned', were we asking God the Father for forgiveness or the priest whom we call father. She looked puzzled and never answered me.

The you tube sites didnt go through on my end

Sorry about that. I do not, as of yet, really have any clue as to how to embed a YouTube video in a post on TOL. The links were just a couple of nice, uplifting, heartfelt songs performed by sons in celebration of their respective mothers...I imagined you might enjoy them (albeit, having absolutely no idea what sorts of music you like, and what sorts of music you don't like). I'll just post the links to them, instead of trying to embed them, and hopefully they will work for you this way.
