The Atonement: What did it REALLY Accomplish?

According to the scriptures, receiving the Spirit of Adoption Rom. 8:15, also known as the Blessing of Abraham Gal. 3:14, shall accompany New Birth in time for all the Elect; being Born of the Spirit of God!

Every Adopted Son of God Eph. 1:4-5, Abraham's Seed, which is the Seed of Christ Gal.3:16 from Abraham and on; every Son of His that ever lived, the only Seed Christ died for Heb. 2:16, they shall all receive the Blessing of Abraham at some point in their lifetime, as evidence that they truly are Sons of God Gal. 4:6.

Rom. 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Those who never receive the Spirit of Adoption, they were never Chosen in Christ and have no part in His Life and Death: He was not their Surety Saviour Heb. 7:22 and God was never their Father.

Rom 5:11

11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

The Atonement of Christ has reconciled the elect world to God. It secured and ensured for it [ the elect world] every spiritual blessing needed to live unto God and for His Glory through Jesus christ.

Even before the elect are born into this world as sinners, they have already [by the blood of Christ] been reconciled to God, it will now be a matter of time for it to be manifested.

The atonement accomplished the complete salvation for all whom it was offered for, that is the death of christ. It provides them Faith, repentance, sanctification, redemption, and every needful spiritual blessing to convert them to God, and remain secured forever.
Do you drink the blood of Jesus Christ?

It blesses us by turning us from our sins !

Thats what Christ's Death accomplished, it turns everyone for whom He died from their sins and effects an at one ment with God !

Acts 3:25-26

25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Yes, the Death of Christ accomplished the atonement, it brings all for whom it was for into fellowship with God, else it was not a complete blessing, and failed the purpose of God.

The words turning away above are the greek words apo strephō and means:

  1. to turn away
    1. to remove anything from anyone
    2. to turn him away from allegiance to any one, to turn away or back (literally or figuratively):—bring again,

Its the same as Isaiah foretold here Isa 49:6
to raise up the tribes of Jacob,
and to restore the preserved of Israel:

That word restore shuwb alse means to:

      1. to bring back,
      2. to return, turn back

The word strepho also means to :

        1. metaph. to turn one's self from one's course of conduct, i.e. to change one's mind, convert

Its the word Jesus used in Matt 18:3

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

So Jesus death accomplished our conversion to God if He died for us !

Christ's Death turns away from sin, all those for whom He was their Covenant Head and Surety from Everlasting Heb. 7:22 because He took their sins upon Himself Is. 53:6 so no sin was ever imputed to "the preserved of Israel" Is. 49:6; Rom. 4:7-8, God's Elect, but His Righteousness was imputed to them, and in so doing restoring them, completely satisfying God's Law and Justice on their behalf:

The House of David
2 Sam. 23:5
The Spiritual Seed of Abraham Heb. 2:16,
The Chosen Seed of Christ Gal. 3:16; Is. 53:10:
The Election of Grace 2 Tim. 1:9 which were Chosen before the foundation of the World to have forgiveness / remission of sins Eph. 1:4-7, all of which comprise His Sheep Heb. 13:20, and His Church Eph. 5:25.

They are all one and the same People, The Israel of God which was Promised Salvation Is. 45:17 that Christ Jesus came to Earth to shed His Blood for in time Mat. 1:21. And so according to the Purpose of God Eph. 3:11, each one shall be Born in Time, and then be Born Again!

Those Christ died for, have by His Death alone, hath been made Perfect, yes whiter than snow, free from every spot and wrinkle before God!

So True, and even while they still sin everyday, because no sin was imputed to them Rom. 4:8, but to their Surety Heb. 7:22 instead; Completely Justified before they ever come to Believe, even before they were ever born!

Rom. 8:33-34
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

2 Tim. 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began

This is truly The Gospel of God's Grace!

Five things the death of Christ accomplished for all whom He died!

#1. All for whom Christ died have been made righteous by imputed righteousness Rom 5:19; 2 Cor 5:21; Rom 4:6

#2. All for whom Christ died have had their sins put away before God's law and Justice Jn 1:29; 2Cor 5:19; Dan 9:24; Col 2:14

#3. The death of Christ accomplished for all whom He died, A freedom from the guilt/punishment of sins Heb 1:3

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

The word for purged katharismos means:

A *cleansing from the guilt of sins! And that is why for them sins can't be imputed or charged to them, for that would reverse what Christ death had done/accomplished.

#4. The death of Christ for all whom He died hath for them alone abolished death!

2 Tim 1:10
10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:

Christ death for them abolished all death owed them for sin, hence Rom 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It would be a great injustice for anyone Christ died for to go into the second death

Rev 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

If that would happen it would be a reversal of and defeat of the accomplishment of the death of Christ.

#1. All for whom Christ died have been made righteous by imputed righteousness Rom 5:19; 2 Cor 5:21; Rom 4:6

They surely have!

Everyone Christ died for does God's Will perfectly, because by His death for them, they are made Righteous [dikaios] Rom. 5:19, which means:

1. righteous , observing divine laws
A. In a wide sense, upright, righteous, virtuous, keeping the commands of God.

So those whom Christ died for, because of His obedience alone, there are no further conditions for them to meet; no obedience of their own.

For Christ's Righteousness was imputed to them He died for without works!

My response to beloved57 applies to all of the Election of Grace Rom. 11:5; Eph 1:4; Eph. 1:7; 2 Tim. 1:9.

The Good News we convey is for all who believe what the scriptures declare!

And it is apparent that you are not;

Neither do you not.
