But to answer the question of the thread title...
It depends on whether the father was involved in the son's activity. Hunter Biden's position in, and unearned salary from, a Ukrainian natural gas company that even he admits he had no qualifications for, was obviously a political pay off. Joe Biden is one of the sleaziest politicians in existence. He's a text book example of just the sort of slime ball that created the movement that spawned the Tea Party and eventually put Donald Trump in office. There is nothing so advantageous for the forces of good than for there to be a clear and obvious bad buy to fight against.

True. This is the key, I think.
Eric Trump vowed that since there were no expenses, all of the money would go to the kids. But his dad overruled him, saying "everyone pays." And according to people looking at the charges, they are way over anything reasonable for such an event. So Donald Trump really got the profit from the supposed "charity event." It isn't clear if Eric got a cut for himself.

In the Trump case, there was a clear quid pro quo. That's not uncommon, although it is sleazy, if not overtly illegal. Joe Biden didn't seem to offer anything to Ukraine, on the other hand. But It wasn't a good thing, albeit not as corrupt as the Trump China deal.
That's what Biden is counting on.
Joe Biden didn't put Trump in office, Hillary Clinton did. Biden had nothing to do with it. No one went into the polling booth and pulled the lever for Trump because of Biden. Literally no one.

Trump was already crazy rich before he became president and could have been making a whole lot more money but stopped his company from doing any new international business deals while he is in office. It's just the exact polar opposite of what people like Biden do. They go into office having never done anything worthwhile, with no business experience whatsoever and come out of office wealthy because they're corrupt, cheating liars who game the system for their own benefit.
You go on and support Biden if you want. You'll get what you deserve.

Eric Trump's little fraud on ill children is too simple and disorganized to qualify as a "conspiracy." And it's not debatable as to whether or not it happened. The documents are discoverable for anyone who want to look.
Not as rich as he pretended to be, and certainly not as rich as he wanted to be. Regardless, that money he took from the St. Jude's fund wasn't all that much, but he wanted it. So he took it. What about Eric's story that they were donating the use of the course and that all money collected would go to St. Jude's Hospital? Trump describes that kind of thing as "puffery" i.e. the lies businessmen tell people to make money. And so they are.

Don't know who I'll support when the time comes. I could vote democrat for the first time in decades. I usually go libertarian,but these are dangerous times, and we have an amoral fool at the helm.
He's got his children, out there doing diplomatic assignments, with exactly zero understanding of what they are supposed to be doing. He's got the whole world laughing at us. And we're losing power and influence everywhere.

So it was more than just taking papers off his desk so he wouldn't sign them. (apparently he'd forget about them after a day or so) It was a plan by his people to undermine him generally. And these were the "best people" he bragged about having in his administration. Does Haley have any idea what her story does to the credibility of the United States?
On one hand, it appears that she is trying to score brownie points with Trump by taking his side against that of Tillerson and Kelly. But on the other hand, what she is saying is that numerous of Trump's own hand-picked appointees have deemed it necessary, for whatever reasons, to conspire against him. This is absolutely devastating to Trump's reputation and credibility as president. I'm not sure if she realizes that or not.

That being said, Donald Trump is no position to point his finger at the Bidens, given that the President's own personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has obviously taken advantage of that connection starting with a $500000 retainer for undisclosed services from Russian-born associates (Lev Parnas, Igor Fruman) who were arrested at Dulles Airport by the FBI of illegally funnelling foreign money into the campaigns of Republican politicians that originated with an unnamed Russian oligarch who was using them to "launder" $1 million.
Apparently Giuliani has secured a number of these $ multimillion contracts around the world which appears to be the going price for an introductions and photo op with the President!

1) Giuliani Partners' and its subsidiary, Giuliani Security and Safety, had earnings from $40 to over $100 million in the five years through early 2007 with 55 employees.
In 2006, Giuliani stepped stepping down as CEO and Chairman, but retained a 30% equity stake in the partnership, which paid him $4.1 million in 2006. The firm's fortunes, which had always been dependent upon Giuliani's star power.
2. Associates included Bernard Kerik, Giuliani's former police commissioner, who was accused of having ties to organized crime, left the firm in 2004 and was later sentenced to 4 years in jail for tax fraud.
Another member was Monseignor Alan Placa, a high school friend of Giuliani and former Roman Catholic priest, who was accused of sexually molesting a teenager and of covering up molestation in the church.
3) Clients of Giuliani Partners are required to sign confidentiality agreements, so they do not comment about the work they get done or the amount that they have paid for it. Giuliani himself has refused to talk about his clients, the work he did for them, the compensation he received from them, or any details about the company.
4) Giuliani Partners' list of clients included Hank Asher, an admitted drug smuggler and millionaire founder of companies that perform electronic information gathering (datamining) on individuals.
Shareholders confirmed that Asher hired Giuliani for his "influence with the federal government to enable Asher to take an active role in Seisint as its chief executive officer despite allegations about his drug dealing.
Giuliani assisted in Asher's company getting $12 million in government grants and after Asher's past was publicly revealed and forced to resign from the company, Giuliani defended him to newspapers without disclosing that Asher was a paying client.
5) It was only later that Seisint investors realized that Giuliani Partners was being paid $2 million a year in fees, a commission on all sales of Seisint products, and 800,000 stock warrants (worth $775 million when Seisint was later sold to Lexis Nexis.
6) Giuliani Partners representing Purdue Pharma, the maker of OxyContin, in a case against the Drug Enforcement Administration,
It succeeded in negotiating a "sweetheart" deal - a $2 million fine and no further penalty for what the DEA called "lax security" at plants that produced the drug, which the DEA said was being used as a recreational drug.
The lead DEA investigator later said that Purdue Pharma escaped harsher penalties in the case because of Giuliani's connections to government officials and he later represented Purdue Pharma in a recently settled case in which the DEA accused the company of marketing OxyContin by playing down its level of addictive properties.
Giuliani met with government lawyers six times to help negotiate a settlement in the case that allowed Purdue Pharna to avoid a ban for doing future business with the federal government.
7. Giuliani Partners reportedly accepted fees from penny stock firms, made alliances that have gone nowhere, and formed pacts with businesses and individuals that have come under scrutiny by regulators and law enforcement officers. Giuliani Capital Advisors accepted 1.6 million warrants from Lighting Science Group at 60 cents, a fee of $150,000 and a promise to raise cash. The company went bankrupt, losing $412,000 on sales of $137,000 in the first part of 2006.
CamelBak which just happened to have the disgraced Bernard Kerik sitting on its board, started with $31 million in sales, but was financially run into the ground with various missteps based on the advice of Giuliani Partners.
8) Giuliani Partners entered into a deal with Applied DNA Sciences with 3 less than reputable partners -
- Richard Langley Jr., had previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and commercial bribery in another penny stock scam
- Jeffrey Salzwedel, fined for making "unsuitable" stock recommendations to clients
- Vertical Capital Partners, a brokerage firm that had been penalized repeatedly for various securities violations
9)Mexico City hired Giuliani Partners to consult on its crime rate, Giuliani toured the city for all of one day and produced a report at a cost of $4.3 million which when implemented resulted in a 1% drop in crime.
Referred to as the "$4 million publicity stunt," Mexico City received such routine recommendations as suggesting the use of "breathalyzers" on drunk drivers - what can you expect for only $4.3 million!
9) Giuliani Partners has had contracts since 2005 with Qatar's Ministry of the Interior, for security advice and consulting services overseen by Minister Abdullah bin Khalifah Al Thani,a member of Qatar's royal family.
10) Andrew Giuliani, Rudy's son, attended Duke University and had aspired to become a golf pro - he joined the Trump Administration as a Public Liaison Assistant in March 2017, served as a cybersecurity advisor to the President and later joined the legal team in April 2018.
In June 2018, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly rescinded Andrew's unescorted access to the West Wing.
Andrew also serves as a regular golf partner of the President!
11) In 2018 Brazilian State Governor, Amazonino Mendes, signed a controversial $1.6 million consultancy contract with Giuliani (GSS) and touted the deal in his state's election campaign.
`12) In August 2018, Giuliani was retained by Freeh Group International Solutions, a global consulting firm run by former FBI Director Louis Feech, which paid him a fee to lobby Romanian President Klaus lohannis to change Romania's anti-corruption policy and reduce the role of the National Anticorruption Directorate Giuliani argued that the anti-corruption efforts had gone too far.
13) After General Mike Flynn was terminated for lying about his secret contacts with Russia and fears by the FBI that he could be subject to blackmail, it has been suggested that President Trump that he be replaced by Rudy Giuliani as his "backchannel" to Putin.
Giuliani Security and Safety secured contracts with Karkov and Kiev in the Ukraine which served as a plausible cover for Giuliani to visit them regularly and meet with Russian representatives without attracting undo attention!
