DNI Whistleblower Tip About Trump Phone Call Alarms Former Intel Officials

Intelligence community's IG is now under investigation for secretly changing requirements for whistle blowers, and backdating those changes.

The corruption in this case is being laid out more and more every day. It's another witch hunt by the hopelessly corrupt socialist Democrats.

In tense testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) on Friday, the inspector general for federal spy agencies refused to disclose why his office backdated secret changes to key whistleblower forms and rules in the wake of an anti-Trump whistleblower complaint filed in August, sources told The Federalist.

As The Federalist reported and the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) confirmed, the spy watchdog secretly changed its whistleblower forms and internal rules in September to eliminate a requirement that whistleblowers provide first-hand evidence to support any allegations of wrongdoing. In a press release last week, the ICIG confessed that it changed its rules in response to an anti-Trump complaint filed on August 12. That complaint, which was declassified and released by President Donald Trump in September, was based entirely on second-hand information, much of which was shown to be false following the declassification and release of a telephone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Michael Atkinson, the intelligence community inspector general, told HPSCI lawmakers during a committee oversight hearing on Friday that the whistleblower forms and rules changes were made in September, even though the new forms and guidance, which were not uploaded to the ICIG’s website until September 24, state that they were changed in August. Despite having a full week to come up with explanations for his office’s decisions to secretly change its forms to eliminate the requirement for first-hand evidence and to backdate those changes to August, Atkinson refused to provide any explanation to lawmakers baffled by his behavior.

Cult-speak.

LOL. Coming from someone who mindlessly repeats the socialist talking point of the day each and every day and has for the entire time I've been on this forum, that's rich. I've yet to see you have an independent thought of your own. You've seen me criticize both sides of the aisle, yet you in your blind obeisance to the socialist agenda call me a cultist. It's right out of the talking points you guys get on a daily basis. You are, politically correct. You would have fit right into Mao's culture.

Bribe for what?

How much money in bribes has Trump been paid by corrupt Saudi Arabia?

Show the evidence that Trump has taken any money from the Saudis. No, not just accusations/assertions, but actual evidence. Show the money trail and the quid pro quo. But, I know you won't as there has never been any evidence showing such a thing. Oh, the accusations and assertions abound, but evidence, actual evidence, has never been shown. It's more of the Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Just like all the Russia hoax line of baloney. The evidence never existed. It was all a manufactured lie and has been demonstrated to be that. More than two years of intensive legal investigations and nothing to show for it but repeated groundless assertions.

I find it pretty incredible that you guys aren't so ashamed of having all the lies exposed that you don't slink off with your tails between your legs. The lack of shame for lying so publicly for so long says all of this comes from sociopaths/psychopaths who cannot tell wrong from right. It's like the Bible says. People in the last days will have consciences seared as with a hot iron.

You still making stuff up? You never did answer those questions, even though you asked me to show where you hadn't replied and I reposted them for you. Sad.

At least four national security officials raised alarms about Ukraine policy before and after Trump call with Ukrainian president

Those involved in sounding alarms “were not a swamp, not a deep state,” said a former senior official. Rather, they were White House officials “who got concerned about this because this is not the way they want to see the government run.”

Officials traced the origins of their initial concerns about Trump and Ukraine to the abrupt and unexplained removal of the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, after she became the target of a right-wing smear campaign that accused her — with no apparent evidence — of undermining Trump and his policies.

NSC officials were alternately baffled and alarmed by the behavior of Giuliani, who had agitated for Yovanovitch’s removal...

⬇️

WASHINGTON — House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said on Thursday that he’d return campaign donations from a pair of Ukrainian-Americans working with Rudy Giuliani to boost President Trump after the two men were arrested for allegedly violating campaign finance laws.

McCarthy (R-Calif.) and the National Republican Congressional Committee, House Republicans’ main campaign organization, received substantial donations from Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, a pair of businessmen who have been working with Giuliani, Trump’s personal lawyer, in his push to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden.

The men were arrested Wednesday and charged with allegedly funneling illegal campaign contributions to a Trump-friendly super PAC as well as other candidates. There’s a lot more concerning evidence regarding one former top Republican, however.

Parnas and Fruman met with then-House Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in 2018. He soon after sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo demanding that he fire the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, a top goal of theirs and Giuliani’s.

The pair then gave maximum contributions to Sessions — and used a limited liability corporation to give more than $300,000 to a super PAC that spent millions helping Sessions in his reelection campaign.

Looks like the noose is drawing tighter. Diversions like "Biden is a crook!!!" aren't working, Fox News says that a majority of voters want Trump impeached, and his last attempt to divert our attention (abandoning the Kurds in Syria to appease the Turkish ruler) didn't fly so well with his own followers...

‘Shame on Him’: Evangelicals Call Out Trump on Syria
One called President Trump’s decision “an egregious act of betrayal.” Another said the policy could be “the biggest mistake of his presidency.” A third said Mr. Trump “is in danger of losing the mandate of heaven.”

Conservative Christians have ardently stood by Mr. Trump at most every turn, from allegations of sexual misconduct to his policy of separating migrant families at the border and the Russia investigation.

But this week, some of Mr. Trump’s top evangelical supporters broke rank to raise alarms over his move to withdraw troops from Syria, which prompted Turkish forces to launch a ground and air assault against a Kurdish-led militia that has been a crucial ally in the American fight against ISIS.

As Turkish warplanes began to bomb Syrian towns on Wednesday, the prominent evangelist Franklin Graham called for Mr. Trump to reconsider his decision, and worried that the Kurds — and the Christian minorities in the region they have defended — could be annihilated.

They still don't get it. He doesn't care. I like this one, though:

Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network, said he was “appalled” by the president’s decision, and added that “the president of the United States is in great danger of losing the mandate of heaven if he permits this to happen.”

The "mandate of heaven" is the traditional justification for Chinese leaders to rule by decree.

More good news for America:

Sondland will defy State Department order not to testify in impeachment probe, lawyer says
Three days after State Department officials, in a post-midnight phone call, ordered Gordon Sondland, a central player in the Ukraine controversy, not to testify in the House impeachment inquiry into President Trump, his lawyer said on Friday that he will appear before Congress next week.

“Notwithstanding the State Department’s current direction to not testify, Ambassador Sondland will honor the Committees’ subpoena, and he looks forward to testifying next Thursday,” Robert Luskin, Sondland’s attorney, said in a statement.

Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, had been called to testify in private before three House committees on Tuesday, but the State Department directed him not to show up. Luskin told Yahoo News that Sondland got the order from a State Department official in a phone call at 12:30 a.m. on the morning he was scheduled to appear.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff blasted the Trump administration for blocking Sondland’s testimony, saying that Sondland had turned over to the State Department text messages or emails “deeply relevant” to the investigation, but that the department had refused to provide them to Congress.

In his statement Friday, Luskin said that his client cannot turn over those documents under federal law.

“The State Department has sole authority to produce such documents, and Ambassador Sondland hopes the materials will be shared with the Committees in advance of his Thursday testimony.”

The US ambassador to the European Union is reportedly planning to tell Congress that his infamous text message denying a quid pro quo with Ukraine was dictated by President Donald Trump himself — and possibly not truthful.

An informal White House adviser on China is giving conflicting accounts to media organizations over whether China gave him information about former Vice President Joe Biden's son's activities in China, the same week that President Donald Trump urged the country to probe the Bidens.

First, the adviser, Michael Pillsbury, told The Financial Times he got "quite a bit of background on Hunter Biden from the Chinese."

"I tried to bring up the topic in Beijing," Pillsbury said. "I've never seen them get so secretive in my entire life. They would discuss ICBM warheads sooner than talk about what Hunter Biden was doing in China with Vice President Biden."

Hours later, Pillsbury changed his story, telling C-SPAN he hadn't spoken with FT in over a month.

But FT's Washington bureau chief released an email exchange between him and Pillsbury, in which Pillsbury wrote, "Actually, I got quite a bit of background on Hunter Biden from the Chinese."

Shortly after that, Pillsbury gave another account, telling The Washington Post, "Most everything I learned was already public or well known."

He went on to say he was told that Hunter Biden's firm received a certain sum of money from the Bank of China, but it was unclear how much, adding that the Chinese government is reluctant to talk about Biden.

"They really, really didn't want to talk about it," Pillsbury told The Post.

He also said that, while he spoke with the president before going on a trip to China last month, Trump did not ask him to talk to Chinese officials about the Bidens. "I haven't reported back to him," Pillsbury said.

Pillsbury said during an earlier interview on Fox Business that he had raised the issue of the Bidens with Chinese officials when he visited the country last week.

Pillsbury's disclosure came days after China sought to distance itself from Trump's requests to probe the Bidens.

"China has long pursued the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries," foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said on Tuesday.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff indicated Sunday that the whistleblower at the heart of Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump may not testify over concerns about that person’s safety.

Schiff’s remarks come after Trump has dramatically escalated his attacks on the whistleblower and repeatedly called for the official to be unmasked. Trump’s unrelenting barrage has spurred worries from Democrats that congressional Republicans may try to reveal that person’s identity — conceivably endangering his or her safety — at the behest of the president.

Schiff (D-Calif.) said the whistleblower’s testimony might not be needed given that a rough transcript of the call with Trump asking Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a “favor” — the centerpiece of the whistleblower’s complaint — is public. In addition, lawmakers have a collected a tranche of damning text messages and witness testimony related to the scandal in the last two weeks.
