Trump labor secretary who cut Epstein deal plans to slash funds for sex trafficking victims

Democrats condemn as ‘amoral’ Alex Acosta’s proposed 80% funding cut for US agency that combats child sex trafficking

No one can accuse him of being inconsistent.

Apparently, Acosta's move to cut funds for sex trafficking victims will continue after his resignation. Why is no one surprised?

Has the guy who raped kids been executed yet or have the liberals not finished leveraging the case for their political dreams.

It wasn't libs who rewarded a prosecutor for letting a pedophile off with an illegal sweetheart deal. It wasn't libs who just crippled enforcement of a program to fight sexual trafficking of children. It was a Trump appointee.

Those people only pretend to care about kids. What they actually do, is another thing entirely.

Activists projected condemnations of Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta on the Department of Labor building Wednesday to protest his role in a controversial non-prosecution agreement with financier Jeffrey Epstein, who was arrested again over the weekend.

Progressive advocacy groups, including Credo Action, MoveOn, UltraViolet and the American Federation of Teachers, projected the words “Acosta Enabled Sex Trafficking” and “Acosta Must Go” on the building.

“Secretary Acosta’s actions in not disclosing the plea deal of a politically well-connected predator to the victims of that predator were illegal and unconscionable. By breaking the law and hiding the deal from victims, he’s shown that we cannot trust him,” American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten said in a statement.

“A labor secretary is supposed to protect everyday people — Alex Acosta proposed an 80% cut to his department’s bureau that combats human trafficking, and gave a sweetheart deal to a known predator,” she added.

In 2008, as a U.S. attorney, Acosta approved a deal that allowed Epstein to serve only 13 months and spend 16 hours a day outside of prison. Epstein was arrested on new federal charges of sex trafficking over the weekend. He has pleaded not guilty.

Huge record cache details how Jeffrey Epstein, madam lured girls into depraved world

A chilling picture of how hundreds of girls and young women from around the world were trafficked for sex by Jeffrey Epstein, his alleged madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, and a number of other powerful business and world leaders emerged Friday in court documents unsealed in New York.

The documents, a portion of thousands of pages in a 2015 federal defamation case, offer brutal details about Epstein’s trafficking of teenage girls from across the United States, Russia and Sweden — and Maxwell’s obsessive and often abusive quest to provide him with new girls over a span of years in the early to mid 2000s.

The cache of court documents, part of the case’s motion for summary judgment, also shows in 2006, when the Palm Beach police were first investigating Epstein, he was being assisted by Maxwell as part of a pyramid-like scheme the pair operated to lure young girls from around Palm Beach, focusing on schools, colleges and spas.

Palm Beach Detective Joe Recarey testified in the case that he was never able to question Maxwell, but the fact that the police had evidence of Maxwell’s involvement raises new questions about why the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office in South Florida failed to pursue sex trafficking charges against Epstein, Maxwell and others.

What does Trump have to do with the rapist?

Trump rewarded the prosecutor who made an illegal "wrist slap" deal with the rapist; he became Secretary of Labor, until the story got out, and he was forced to resign.

We can't prove that Trump did it because Acosta helped out Trump's pedophile friend, but it sure looks bad.

Well since Epstein is no longer among the living, he certainly can’t testify. Interesting timing ...

A matter of considerable interest for the New York AG. Turns out, Epstein had cameras set up in every room of his apartment. And there are reportedly a lot of recordings. All of which will be carefully reviewed to see who else was involved.

Should be interesting.

Nah, this will be the Mueller report 2.0. William Barr was installed to obstruct justice.

This is a state AG. They don't answer to the federal guys. No pardon possible, either. Trump is reportedly looking for a way, but there doesn't seem to be one.
