Yes, some of them owned slaves (liberals are the first to mention that, so I thought I'd get that subject out of the way).

Founding Fathers expert David Barton talks about how the 3/5th's clause in the Constitution was anti slavery.

Now that it's been established that Frederick Douglass was a big fan of the Constitution's anti slavery clause, I guess we can leave that subject behind.

Although one of his books The Jefferson Lies was so mocked by real historians and found to be such trash it was pulled from the market by its publisher.
Barton is an expert in self-promotion, nothing else.

It's call "liberal censorship" (liberals are notorious book burners don't cha know).

It was his Christian book publisher, Thomas Nelson, that pulled his book. I believe his other "books" were self published or published by his captive business, Wallbuilders, or by WND or Glenn Beck. He is, simply, a fraud, a psuedohistorian.
I would be interested in seeing his CV but I'll bet he does not like to publish that, it would allow people to check.

to make my point about his self-promotion, ACW's list supporting Barton's expertise comes directly from Barton's defense of his Jefferson book, just go to the web site cited.
Barton decries "academic elites" and academic criticism. Were he a real historian, he would welcome it. But since his scholarship is garbage he can do nothing but whine about it.
Although I'll bet he makes a decent buck. Follow the $.

If you'd read the above link "The Jefferson Lies: Taking on the Critics", you'd know that it was liberal pseudo historians that were behind Barton's censorship.

I see that you're not attempting to refute that David Barton is an expert on the Founding Fathers (you liberals do know your limitations).

This 25 minute video is well worth the watch (amongst other things note how Jefferson was the first President to fight Muslims, i.e. the war on terror. Note what Barton says about the Jefferson Memorial, established under FDR; note how Jefferson was anti-slavery, etc. etc. etc.).

No, he is only an expert in promoting false history, attempting to "Christianize" the Founders to support current right wing Christian fundamentalism.
The two academics who criticized him out of the box are Warren Throckmorton and Michael Coulter, they are professors at a Christian college, Grove City College, not a hot bed of eastern liberalism. Or liberalism at any level.

Right wing fundamentalists love to spread falsehoods as long as they think it supports Jesus, don't cha know. Quite the oxymoronic position by the way.

How can you refute so many founding fathers that speak directly of Jesus Christ?

No, I said that Barton takes their Christian views and expands them to more. And he uses his pseudohistorical information to support the current right wing. Barton wants a theocracy. No thanks.

I see that you have no desire to attempt to refute the information on Jefferson that David Barton presented in the 25 minute video that I posted above. You are wise.

The two academics who criticized him out of the box are Warren Throckmorton and Michael Coulter, they are professors at a Christian college, Grove City College, not a hot bed of eastern liberalism. Or liberalism at any level.

Do you wonder why, like I do, a Christian college would allow an LGBTQ activist like Warren Throckmorton to teach impressionable young minds, especially the minds of Christian youth?

Now that it's been established that Warren Throckmorton is a God-hating liberal, what else would you like to talk about?

Is he gay?

I've wondered that myself about Warren Throckmorton, a professor at the alleged Christian Grove City College.

Not that many years ago Throckmorton was pro traditional family values (the ones that the Bible teaches about). Then all of the sudden he starts attacking Christians (i.e. conservatives) like Bryan Fischer

http://www.crosswalk.com/blogs/dr-warren-throckmorton/bryan-fischer-and-the-nazis-11632467.html

and Scott Lively.
http://www.crosswalk.com/blogs/dr-w...tzer-and-ugandas-anti-homosexuality-bill.html

and as shown in an earlier post, Founding Fathers historian David Barton.

What made Warren Throckmorton turn left? Perhaps he is a practicing sodomite and his political ideology now matches his desires and behavior or maybe he's just another leftwing fruitcake.

Welcome to THE Founding Fathers Thread of All Founding Fathers Threads. While I do expect some trolling, let's try to keep it to a minimum shall we? (I know, that's asking a lot of ok doser).

I suppose I could go into what the Founding Fathers thought about homosexuality and what they would have done to someone who promoted sex with children:

but there's plenty of time to talk about that at a later date.
