The two parties are there to give you the illusion that you have a choice. Show me ONE major policy that had changed within the past 30 years.

ObamaCare

Asked and answered.

Oh, you want more?

Patriot Act (includes NSA spying on Americans, other civil liberties lost)
Same sex marriage
Creation of Homeland Security
Use of drones to kill terrorists (and US citizens sympathetic to terrorists)
Americans with Disabilities Act
Photo Voter ID laws
See-sawing tax rates on the wealthy 2%
Medicare Prescription Drug Act
No Child Left Behind

I'm curious--how old are you? Seriously.

I would also point out that the different positions on issues is the reason why we don't have things like:

Immigration reform
Comprehensive energy policy
Gun control laws

And when the democrats took over, did they change the Republican policies? No. When the republicans take over, will they repeal obamacare? No.

The end game is the same. You're like a child that thinks your vote matters. Just shows how the school system indoctrinates children to believe in the fantasy of democracy.
Your vote doesn't matter. And Not because so many people got that one vote doesn't matter. It doesn't matter because the rulers do what they want regardless. The politicians are selected, not elected.

Still think there’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans?
I’ve noticed over the years, there are some fundamental differences in the way Republicans and Democrats think. Here are just 15 examples.

(1) Republicans fear that the government has too much control over corporations. Democrats fear that corporations have too much control over our government.

(2) Democrats believe it benefits all of us to help the weakest and the poorest among us. Republicans believe it benefits all of us to help the wealthiest and most powerful among us.

Again, how old are you?

The reason for the outcomes that you see is precisely because power is shared between two parties. It's difficult to get rapid change, especially when there are elections every two years. Except when one party controls all three branches of the government. When that happens we get things like the Bush tax cuts or Obamacare (not one Republican in the House voted for it.)

If Republicans gain all three branches of government they won't repeal all parts of ObamaCare because some of the provisions are popular with the citizens. However, you can bet that they will repeal the individual mandate and the medical device taxes, probably within a month of gaining power.

And yet they deny climate change. Great group of guys, really.

Really? From the article:

But in recent years a number of conservative religious groups have embraced global warming as a serious concern. The National Association of Evangelicals began pushing for an assertive climate change policy during the George W. Bush administration. The Christian Coalition, founded by Pat Robertson, unsuccessfully lobbied in 2009 and 2010 for a climate change bill.

Also, here is the National Association of Evangelicals statement on the issue:

To be fair, conservative politicians are only influential group of people who are opposing climate change. Otherwise, this wouldn't even be a discussion.

You can say that all day long, won't make it true.

Are you even aware there are Democrats that want to repeal the medical device tax?

Yeah and there are democrats that have been saying they want to stop the wars on the middle east. You don't see that happening. They say things to get people on their side then they do what their masters the them. Grow up and don't be so naive.

Our votes would matter if we stopped voting for their false choices, and started voting AGAINST both of them.

I just decline to vote. The system can't be fixed when the system itself is garbage.
If you don't vote, you surrender the system, and the power, to them.

Not voting is like ignoring the nazis in the hopes that they'll feel bad about you ignoring them and stop trying to take over the world, by violent force.

Yep. You should at least vote for a third party candidate, if for no other reason than to send a message to the two parties. If enough people did this, they'd have to take notice.
