The coronavirus scam

on the side...... I reckon we will be in countrywide lockdown by end of October, if not before.
I think this winter could be much worse than last spring for Covid.
Some scam.

I know that measures have been a mess this last few months, but we sure do need to wake up quickly.

Unfortunately that's a distinct possibility. Frankly, the recent measures have been indistinct and flat out bonkers. It's gonna be one cold winter...

Former Nashville Councilman Who Said Covid Was A Hoax Dies Of The Virus
Tenpenny railed against COVID-19 restrictions on Facebook, and said face masks were a socialist plot.

I'll never make light of a persons death but this sheer ignorance needs to be addressed. There is no scam or hoax where it comes to this virus.

Unfortunately this has happened more than a few times here that we know of publicly, that someone quite vocal about it being a hoax or not needing a mask dies of the virus, and probably quite a few that we don't know about. Death isn't something to make light of, I agree, but hopefully maybe someone will change their attitude after reading about one of these deaths.

One can only hope.

It's sad that the councilman died, but I wonder how many folks he deterred from taking precautions against this sickness.
I think that we may not have arrived at the peak of this sickness yet. This winter could be much worse for Covid than last spring.

Sad for his family, sure. I just have to wonder how many other people are dead due to his selfishness, stubbornness and red-hat mentality.

There'll still be Trump nuts who think he handled this gallantly from the get go...and hopefully more sane people who can recognize what he is. Just from the earlier stages:

"Not only hold the death down to a level that is much lower than the other way had we not done a good job."

That "washes through"...

The World Health Organization initially swore that the virus was not transmissible by humans, did not warrant travel bans or mask-wearing, and was not a significant global threat. The organization’s Chinese patrons had given WHO an unscientific party line. And its director then branded the propaganda with superficial scientific authority.

American experts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal health agencies were often inconsistent on travel bans, testing, masks, quarantines and medical therapies, and intolerant of dissident medical research. Authorities rarely could consistently explain to the public how the virus was spread; why children, who were rarely stricken, were kept from attending school; and whether quarantines were aimed at flattening the curve of infection, eliminating it altogether or just waiting out the virus.

The elderly were rightly deemed the most vulnerable. But then, inexplicably, they were often exposed to newly arriving infected patients in their long-term care facilities.

When millions of people hit the streets to protest the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police, many health care professionals ignored the supposedly dangerous mass meetings that they had earlier insisted were major public health threats.

More than 1,000 health professionals, sympathetic to protests, even signed an open letter declaring that social activism was, for the moment, more important than social distancing.

When supporters of President Donald Trump then went to open-air rallies, many medical experts suddenly called these assemblies dangerous to public health. In truth, either both or neither types of public outings are dangerous.

For six months, experts have given the American public contradictory and weaponized election-year directives on masks, social distancing, lockdowns, school closures and workplace policies.

All of these matters of public health reveal the disasters that follow when common sense is ignored and ideology reigns.

And look at the conflicting stuff we're getting from our current lot in the UK. This pretty much sums things up at the moment...:

Ah...... indeed..... :chuckle:
I'll chuckle 'cos there's little point in getting too heated .........

We've been in a mess since the beginning, really, but in the beginning nobody had any idea about how to proceed.
What is really saddening is to hear the PM at 'question time' and his answers remind me of a well known US politician. Truly.

We've dropped the ball, and we both know it.
The sickness is going to be much worse through this winter than it was in the spring, we've spent our money and now we've got to come out to scavenge the remains of our jobs....... that's how I see it. I notice that Tesco and Morrisons have already banned 'multi-purchasing' of various products so ...... yep, we're going back to the spring situation very shortly.

My wife works in what is already a high risk environs and wears full PPE during every shift, but mistakes happen and I've asked her to consider coming home if things get very very bad.

Did I tell you that I volunteered for the NHS/Oxford vaccine research? Now that's a risk which I personally would not mind. I filled in the questionnaire, sent it off and got an acknowledgement back over a month ago, and got an email this week to tell me that I could possibly be chosen for tests at anytime. I'm up for that.

Let's face it..... this is not going to be good...... I notice that all over 50's can have a free flu vaccine as soon as the higher risk groups have been sorted. They're worried about a Twindemic.
